  1. Note the glowy white thing in front of me, and the transportation icon I'm standing in. This is in MacGruber's woods. Rings of visibility don't reveal any more hints about what this is. My theory is that this will be part of a future update, and was accidentally released too soon. But go check it out, it's cool.
  2. This is most likely a fake, but it believe it is possible for a level 50, with 43 prayer and high range and magic. Huge player skill makes up for a lack of high stats in that minigame, while all 99's does not make up for a lack of player skill at all.
  3. That's funny, I never even thought of trying that. Personally I think they should have stopped after the first message to leave some unanswered questions. I have 26 of those crystals which is probably all I'll ever get. The last time I had an elf task I just got too frustrated with competing for those two elves. I'm willing to log off and switch worlds if someone else is already there, but most people I meet there are pimples on the greasy bum of society.
  4. It would of course be just for fun, since level 15's aren't the richest of the rich. But instead of trying to get one account to 99 prayer, you could use the same amount of bones and get eight to 80, or sixty-four to 60... You wouldn't even have to pk to have a good time with this group. Imagine formation bombing... you could set it up so that you have about thirty of these accounts act like a fuse, each getting killed in a line, and then this fuse burns into a group of thirty others who all get annihilated. Fun to watch. And we don't have to restrict ourselves to level 15's. Use level 80's, go to level 50 wild and destroy an entire team of high level pkers with your huge self-destruction squad. Such a team would have to be as well trained as the OoC. We all know how organized fifty Runescapers are.
  5. What's the gadderhammer's effect against shades? I gave mine away. I actually managed to get through the hardest route with NO fighting once, just one stream crossing. It wasn't a very big reward, though. I'm done with this minigame, I just wanted to try it a few times. I mostly got coal and iron rewards.
  6. I assume that every time you use the special successfully the number in ()'s goes down by one. What happens at 0? Can you recharge the same staff? Is it used up?
  7. The hammer you saw is the gadderhammer, or something like that. Average stats, and no special abilities. It's tradable, can be wielded without doing the quest. You get one during the quest, and can't get any more without buying from players. If I'm wrong about any of this, please correct me.
  8. I've never been a big fan of the wild course, but it seems that wild, werewolf and monkey all give close to the same xp. So, next time I feel like training agility, I guess I'll use monkey just for a nice change. If I ever hear barking mad again it'll be too soon.
  9. You don't need flax to test your theory, you can time yourself walking from the bank to the wheel in both places. I just looked at the mine, and it looks like the closest large amount of silver rocks to a bank, but the iron at Yanille is still faster. However, the Yanille iron rocks are often taken, so you can use these if you're tired of people. Edit: I was curious, so I checked the spinning wheel, and the wheel in Seer's is still faster to reach. Walking from Lumby chest to that wheel was 29 seconds, from Seer's bank to Seer's wheel was 24.
  10. Hey, good call. I just mined nearly 9k iron, I'm going to go see if this would have saved me time.
  11. That was cool to look at. This stuff is from at least a year before I started, but some of the text, like in the bestiary, was still on tip.it the first times I came to this site. Memories.
  12. What kind of stats do crab things have? I know they're going to be junk, but there's always a chance of a new best magic def on a helm, for example.
  13. Thanks. Now, the only thing I don't understand is: How do people know to use a raw chicken on the shrine? I've talked to the wise old man, and I'd never in a million years think to use a raw chicken on the shrine. Where's the logic? How did anyone figure it out?
  14. I tried that, you go to the top of the ladder... oh well. MD666's third screenshot is really weird! What happened there? And I remember playing Runescape underneath those Cubis ads.
  15. As for why people abyss pk, I like to equate it to hunting. Is a hunter with a rifle a fair match for a deer? No. Does the hunter need the meat? No. But they still do it for fun. Same as with abyss pking.
  16. If you're pked and lose your pouches, you CANNOT go back and pick them up again. They don't fall to the ground, they disappear. I know this from personal experience, you have to get them back from abyss monsters. And that's why people teleport away instead of protecting their glory.
  17. Very good guide, I've already duplicated many of my quest items, and didn't know that I could also duplicate bearheads and rings of charos. The gauntlet trick looks very cool, but I don't think it's worth it to me if I have to pay 50k to change gauntlets.
  18. I listened to every rs song in alphabetical order, once. Well, except for the two I don't have. But I didn't keep track of the best ones. I should have.
  19. Jagex puts less and less focus on their dedicated, experienced players, creative dress-up outfits and almost nothing but low-level content... Jagex drifts further and further from the community, answering most customer service requests with auto-responses... Jagex institutes a policy of "guilty until proven innocent", banning high level players that don't deserve it... And now Jagex slows down the cabbage respawn rate? This is the LAST STRAW!
  20. By the looks of this thread, a person is more likely to post their quest points if It's a high number. The same is probably true for the official poll. So the only non-biased results would be if Jagex can check every account quickly. Oh, and 198 qp. I'm still waiting for a quest like legends with 70+ skill requirements.
  21. I find random things on the internet worth looking at. Mostly webcomics. If I'm doing something that needs constant clicking, like mining, then hopefully I can keep an interesting conversation going with someone.
  22. I'm getting tired of seeing all of these topics about good people getting banned for bad reasons. It seems like it's only a matter of time until I get banned for something, despite my eagle scout worthy behaviour. Can't Jagex recognize a pillar of the community like Droolman? I guess they want to treat everybody on the same level, where everybody is guilty until proven innocent. How can you take advantage of multi-logging anyway? Sure, you can use mules. And what's wrong with that? It adds extra security in case one account is hacked. If Jagex doesn't like mules because they're taking more names out of the system, they could delete old unused accounts to free some up. Maybe Jagex's logic is that people would control two accounts at the same time while pking, or something, but it would be far too hard to control two characters effectively. I think this rule needs to be repealed. Not so that multi-loggers can play, but so families can play. As for you and your daughter, here's an idea that might be crazy enough to work. People generally pay more attention to letters than to emails or appeals, so you could mail an explanation and something from your daughter. An emotional visual work, in the medium of crayon and 8.5" by 11", may strike a chord with customer service.
  23. The examine reminds me of a game I've been playing recently, called ADOM. (It's downloadable for free at http://www.adom.de, you'll either love it or hate it.) The final boss in this game is Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD. All chaos monsters in this game talk that same way. Either someone at Jagex plays ADOM, or putting capital letters in chaotic things is just the natural thing to do.
  24. I've always gone to wild coorlds alone, and I almost never see anybody. I've probably done over 50 level 3's, and only lost the first one I ever got. Doing clues with a big bunch of people you don't know is more likely to get you killed. If you need an escort, ask a friend. But remember, your friend won't necessarily want to help. I get asked to escort too often, I always decline.
  25. It's another rumor with no basis in reality. You can get the head back by digging in Lumby swamps. In fact, by dropping the heads and digging more, you can create entire armies of zombie heads, all facing the same direction.
