  17. i have heard that men that keep there laptops on there laps have certain.. umm.. fertility problems.. because it roastst there swimmers :)
  18. That was indeed part of the problem, but this is another thing that is changing. When it comes to desktop processor, the Athon64-series consumes a lot less power and hence produces a lot less heat than any of the latest models from Intel using NetBurst (Pentium, etc). The Pentium M, naturally, is more power-effective than it's desktop counter-parts, but a mobile processor should not be compared to a desktop processor. A more sensible comparision would be Pentium M contra Turion64, and in this field the competitors are fairly even. My one and only point is that while AMD had heat problems a few years ago, this problem is now far more common on Intel platforms than AMD ones. Currently, I would not consider an Intel processor in any non-laptop system. There is a fair bit of fanboyism involved, but the specs certainly aren't in Intels favor at the moment. what i love now about AMD is that the 64 bit systems are backwards compatable to 32 bit.. right now intel is offering only 64 bit without backwards compatability (my understanding and it might be wrong) and most softwear is not ready for 64 bit
  19. the fact AMD was focusing on the power pc market intel offing exclusive deals to leave out AMD (IE: you can't use any amd products and if oyu do you will pay a extra 40% for the products you rely on) but i remember seeing walmart had a few AMD processor laptops... there not made by a brand name i knew but they were AMD

Umm.. better by a longshot.. also its a whole sytem... there are no other players with a DEDICATED store to them (thats worth the price) you buy the music.. you own. it.. apple stops doing itunes in 20 years.. you still own it for itunes and ipods (or burn it to CD.) I got a video iPod yesterday, and so far I'm unfortunately pretty dissapointed. Sure it might hold 60 gigs, it might be the most expensive one best buy had in stock, but I couldnt' put any of my videos on it. And to convert them to a format that is supported you have to buy Quicktime. I wish there was also a way to organize how you want your music on it instead of the default that comes with it. Maybe there's a way to do it that I haven't figured out yet though.. If anyone knows a way to convert the videos without having to buy quicktime pm me Videora is a FREE option http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ convert to mpeg 4 (better quality and does not crash the ipod i have found like H.264 might do)
  22. does the video play on Windows media player or Real media? If windows media player use Videora http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ this program will convert almost FLAWLESSLY!!!! (just don't use the H264 codec since it seems to CRASH the IPOD!!! (if this happens you just loose records of what you have played)
  23. *annoying buzzer sound* WRONG Why? thats the olf NICAD batteries. which had a memory effect as you discribed with lithium ion and newer barreries they don't suffer from that effect. They give more power and a quicker charge. this means that you Should for the FIRST charge let it charge for 12+ hours which helps get it fully charged. further charges it does not matter.. let the power meter on the screen tell you when its charged.
  24. ROFLMAO... thats a good one
