Windows Vista
Yes I do :) . I'm dual booting XP and Vista (well triple boot if you include linux) so I can still have a stable.....eh more stable OS than Vista. I was suprised that there were only 7 critical updates to install on Windows Update. Realy? I didn't hear about this. Well besides for Direct X 10. Here's a question for everybody. Do you think they could have added Direct X 10 to Windows XP? Like just as a normal download or are they just being greedy forcing more people to swich? I think they could have put it into XP.

Windows Vista
I installed the beta version of Windows Vista today :) . I personally think it's just a bloatware version of Windows XP, just with a few add-ons. I was supprised the beta version they were giving out was Vista Ultimate :shock: . I do like the look better than XP. I like how you can have a real clock and a gage that shows how much memory your using on the side of the desktop. It just uses so many more resources than XP does, 2gb will not be overkill for an average user anymore. What do you guys think of the new Windows?

The Guide To Make Your PC Safe
That doesn't always work. Viruses can hide themself from the list. Or still start up even disabled. It's not wise to even start disabling stuff unless you know what your doing.

spy-ware problem
You sure the programs didn't pick that up? Did you scan with all 3 programs? Were they updated?

comp making funny sound
Unplug the hard drive and start the computer. If you still hear it, then it's not the hard drive. I was thinking it could be a case fan. Make sure there are tight against the case. Make sure no wires are hitting them while there on.

Intel Conroe -> Biased Reviews!
I go for the forums not the articles by him. I know those are biased. Look at the Intel 805D chip they were pushing people to buy like mad. Then people are buying the thing and can't overclock the chip to 4.1ghz like they did.

CPU Question
Who cares about conroe! It's not released yet. People are talking about processors that are on the market now. How do you know AMD doesn't have a trick up it's sleeve to combat this? Yes Intel will take the preformance crown again after 3 years. That doesn't mean everybody's going to be throwing away there old computers to buy this right away. If this is some godlike processor then how come people arn't waiting for it and buying a computer now? Most people who are not techy will just go to bestbuy or look on Dell to find the cheapest thing and not look up reviews about how fast it is. Dell is selling AMD computers now, so intel will lose some market share, or atleast stay the same. There's always something around the corner that's going to be faster, I can say: yeah, but don't buy conroe wait and buy K8L it's going to be better than Conroe. There's always going to be something faster, get use to it. I'm saying X2s can compete in media programs with Intel and not just be good in gaming. Using todays processors and not next months. My rant is over. The whole thing is not directed at Diminished2b.

Intel Conroe -> Biased Reviews!
That blog is the worst and full of lies. If you read on tomshardware this guy just makes stuff up. Everybody hates him. You havn't noticed on that blog it's total AMD fanboyism? I do believe some of the benchmarks were swayed in Intel's direction more than AMD's. Every benchmark now has been under Intel's supervision, using factory samples (not retail). We will know for sure when this thing gets released on July 27th(date was moved back).

CPU Question
You havn't seen AMDs X2s processor preformance in encoding then have you? Dual core between AMD and Intel are very close.

Cell phones / Mobile Phones
I currently have a Motorola Razr. I got the phone for free after a $80 mail in rebate :D : My first phone from was a Virgin Mobile slider phone (the old one, not the slider Sonic). I got it about 3 years ago when I was 12.

question on graphics cards
Finaly someone is on my side with the ATI cards and going against this other guy that knows nothing. Thank you Liquid Morph. One thing though, ATI drivers do suck, but they are getting better with their frequent releases. They also have Omega drivers which are awsome, Nividia doesn't. Nvidia drivers aren't that much better though. Good idea but then you would need to upgrade to Vista also :( .

video recording help
Do you have windows XP? EDIT: I did some searching quick. Windows movie maker comes with Service Pack2 (SP2). If you don't have this you can download it from http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate Which you should have anyway because it fixes tons of major security flaws in XP :wink:

question on graphics cards
Good now in a civilized manner we can speak. May I ask what game that is? Some games only use 1 card and are not programed to use both. If the CPU is a bottleneck there is not 1 processor thats fast enough to not be one then. It said in the link I gave it may be one and they were using a FX57 (2.8ghz), the fastest single core out. It also depends on the resolution, say you play on 800x600 then it's more cpu dependant. At 1600x1200 it's more graphics. Usaly like me if your on a LCD they can only support up to 1280x1024 so it's a waist, unless you get up to the 20" rangle and then they can support higher resolutions.

question on graphics cards
If your looking at the benchmark picture above and not the link I posted you sir are the idiot. That 7800GTX are in SLI. The 7900GT is not. Then the 7950GX2 is 2 of them and that doesn't beat a single one? Come on there is something wrong with this benchmark. You can't just post a benchmark without telling about the setup of the computer, the game and the drivers you used. Do some research please, the CPU is not the main component in games. When you can't play a game do you go and buy a graphics card or a processor? Yeah the processor will give some fps to the game but not as much as a fast graphics card. EDIT: Before I posted this he edited his post and changed the whole thing.

question on graphics cards
Where is this piece of **** benchmark from? The 7950GX2 is 2 7900GTs in SLI and just the single 7900GT wins? The people didn't think about games that support SLI and games that didn't when they were benchmarking this. Those frames seem pretty high for a single card with those resolutions. Unless they were testing on low detail just to swing the bechmarks in one direction. Cpu is not a bottleneck anymore. Almost all games now are graphics card dependant. Oh and btw there is not AMD 64 4800+(single core). There is however a AMD X2 4800+(dual core). --------------- My suggestion would be either a 7900GT, but don't go by the above benchmarks, or a x1900XT. EDIT: If you want some real benchmarks look at this here Make sure you look at if the card is in SLI or if it's a single card.

How long does it usually take for you to get ready?
About 20-35mins. That's including showering, shaving, and getting dressed. Would be more time if I ate breakfast, but I don't.

question on graphics cards
Defently go with a x1900XT(X) card. Don't go for crossfire it's not worth it for the money you pay.

Intel's Core 2 Duo?
It said K8L may be able to support DDR3 which would be awsome :) . I heard that DDR2 and 3 are pin compatible so you may not need a platform swich. That's if you already have an AM2 computer.
