What movie(s) did you last see?
flight plan has jodie foster in it, it automatically loses 3 points because of that. but it is supposedly a remake of "the lady vanishes", which is definenetly my favorite hitchcock and probably my favorite pre-1960s movie, but looking at the plot outline i dont see a big connection, maybe a small connection. The Third Man - people who dont like to watch black and white films dont know what they are missing. this one is a great movie, its suspenseful, has action and a cool storyline. i did guess the ending five to ten minutes into the movie, which i thought was cool. i dont know how i guessed it, since you know more or less nothing at that point. didnt detract from the movie at all since you really dont know for sure until closer towards the end. anyways, great movie. Hostel - quentin tarantino presented this, whatever that means. i guess you could consider this a good movie, but i have two big biases to making me dislike it. first is the beginning when they are in amersterdam. yes, you can buy weed in amersterdam, yes americans go there to do this. this is not new, it does not have to be in every dam american movie where they are in europe. that annoyes the crap out of me, we get the idea already. secondly, its a horror movie, and im just not a fan. 90% of them are too stupid to be scary (like this one), and the other 10% scare the hell out of me and im uncomfortable for weeks  . im a scaredy cat, i know. well, if you like horror go for it, but dont expect anything special. its not even really all gross either. Logan's Run - in a desparate attempt to put off doing my paper as long as possible, i decided to rewatch this classic. this is a great 1970s scifi movie, everything you would want from it. interesting story, hot co-star, funny looking special effects, and of course nudity. i think ive already reviewed this one, so ill just leave it at a really good movie. definently need to see it.

MP3 file --> URL - sites ? (lock)
if you have a high speed connection and dont mind leaving your computer on you could do a bittorrent thing, and if you have a few friends who dont mind leaving their computers on (with highspeed) it would work out well.

MP3 file --> URL - sites ? (lock)
i just noticed today that farkimages.com they allow mp3 uploading, but i think that the site is only for fark.com related stuff. if you want to link to your music on your webpage, you could find a "free website" website that has 20 megs of storage or whatever, and make a few accounts.

*Raises eyebrow all-too melodramatically*
or you could just not go to the pk'ing board? i only go into OT and M&M anymore, so there isnt too big of a problem with that. some people may not like the way i type (no capitalization, usually no apostraphes, and probably poor spelling), but i think its ok.

What movie(s) did you last see?
2001: a space odysee. arthur c clark and stanely kubrick co-wrote this one, kubrick had them sent to jupiter in the movie, it was saturn in the book. 2010: odysee two. due to the movies popularity, clark took it in stride and wrote it like the sequel to the movie. i think the only difference between book and movie was the jupiter/saturn thing, so it wasnt a big deal 2061: odysee three. 3001: final odysee. all written by arthur c clark, and all are great sci fi novels. The Fifth Element - i remember when this first came out i thought it looked stupid, but i saw it so i got it. the intro credits totally killed me, luc besson wrote, directed, and produced it, and he holds those same titles for my second favorite film of all time (leon: the professional). i knew bruce willis was in it, but milla jovovich, ian holm, chris tucker and gary oldman all hit me out of the blue. anyways, its a good scifi movie, even with the horrible costumes. i think that almost added to it. they do have the generic evil rich guy (having money means you are automatically evil), but i just take note of it and dont let it bother me. its an exciting, and funny at some points. acting was all ok, definently good enough for a scifi flick. plus milla isnt shy about taking off her shirt, always a plus.

What movie(s) did you last see?
2001 a space odyesee is really slow, and if you look at my other posts a movie being slow and 3 hours long usually kills all of my respect for it. but not that one, i still liked it. i read the books before i saw the movie, it could get kind of confusing if you didnt. how would you know whats going on at the end with his aging and the baby in space? those actually are explained in the book, but not really in the movie. oh well, the movie is good too.

Gmail Invitation? Anyone?

What movie(s) did you last see?
Bruce Almighty - its kind of funny at times, but nothing really all that special about it. didnt know who steve carrell was the first time i watched this movie years ago, so that was a suprise. turns out there is a sequel coming out this year with him in it, playing the charachter he did in the first one. jim carrey was ok, hes been funnier in other movies though. The Pianist - im sure this is a good movie, there wasnt anything wrong with it. it just seems like ive seen it a million times before, there wasnt anything new to it. yes, the jews had a very hard time during WWII. yes, some of their own betrayed them. yes, some others helped them. after the tenth movie about it, its just boring. the only thing i saw a little more in this movie than what i can recall is resistance. only a few minutes, but it does show the resistance shooting the nazis. everytime i watch a movie like this i think they should try and fight back, at least they did for a small bit in this one. if you like this sort of movie its probably good, but i found it boring.

Your Theory of Creation - Life, The Universe & Everythin
huh? you said space was void of anything after big crunch until big bang, im saying its all there, just really compressed. its compressed around a point of singularity, into a very, very, very small sphere with a diameter of 10^-33 meters.
-
Your Theory of Creation - Life, The Universe & Everythin
from what i understand space isnt void of anything at the time of big cruch and sequencal big bang. all the matter in the universe is there at the center, compressed so tightly its only 1 plank length wide (10^-33 meters).

Start the Reactor
never got into that one, was into a few there for a while. now i just go to ctrl-alt-del (i bought the premium membership for a year), and i check out perry bible fellowship once every month or so.

Your Theory of Creation - Life, The Universe & Everythin
If there's no beginning then how did we get here? :| for the first part, you are still looking at infinity as a really large number, not what it actually is. infinity+1=infinity. we have always been here, just like we will always continue to be here (not the human race, but matter itself)
-
Your Theory of Creation - Life, The Universe & Everythin
Exactly, my point exactly. Lionheart was saying that an infinite number of moments has passed before now, and I think that isn't possible, because you would have to assign a value to this "number". um, you are looking at it backwards. look at it as now is the start, and its a vector going backwards. there is no begining, it goes on infiinitly into the past.
-
Your Theory of Creation - Life, The Universe & Everythin
haha  someone needs to take a calculus class and learn about infinity.
-
Your Theory of Creation - Life, The Universe & Everythin
Aah, so an infinite amount of time has passed before this moment? I don't think so. That's logically, scientifically, and mathematically ludicrous. um, explain how it is any of those? how can time not pass? if time is in fact infinite, its not infinite just into the future, its just as infinite into the past.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Yojimbo - third akira kurosawa film ive seen, and it is pretty good. remade into a western, because it has a pretty cool story. Underworld: Evolution - its an action scifi or whatever movie, nothing else to it. still kind of enertaining though. i remember she was crying there for a second, that was absolutley horrible acting. nothing else really bad about it though, just nothing special The Boondock Saints - really enjoyed this movie, william dafoe freaks me out though. he is screwed up in every movie he is in. has action, a cool storyline, and a pretty cool ending i guess. Sanjuro - finish of my 4 dvd set of akira kurosawa films with this one, and its pretty good. i dont know when they were all made, but by this one he is definently better at keeping the pace up, so its not so boring. the fighting was much much better in this one too, i guess the actor that is all of them is getting better. i wouldnt buy any more akira kurosawa films, i think these four will be plenty. still cant quite get used to some of the things in japanese style movies, namely the acting.

Your Theory of Creation - Life, The Universe & Everythin
ill jump in on this and say what i say in all these debates, this is just that something better you are looking for (imo). the big bang that happened billions of years ago or whatever isnt the start of the universe, it was just a start of this stage. there has been an infinite amount of big bangs, each followed by a big crunch. there will be an infinite amount of big bangs in the future, but first we have to crunch again. to look on a time line: a big bang happens immediatly after a big crunch, the entire universe comes to one place just one plank length wide (10^-33 meters), once it reaches that length it bangs. it has been doing this forever, and will continue forever. there is no beginning, there is no end.

What movie(s) did you last see?
wont discuss it here because of spoilers, but yes, i did get it. and it could have easily been done in under 10 minutes, and it wasnt really all that great anyways.

What movie(s) did you last see?
The Hidden Fortress - the second in my akira kurosawa criterion collection, and much much more enjoyable than the first. i found the acting to be better, and i enjoyed the storyline much more. it was filmed fairly well, except for some of the parts they are being shot at, that just sucked. you see them run across a field, no one shooting. they duck behind a small mound, the camera the jumps and it shows that hill being riddled with bullets for a second. i was very dissapointed with that part of the movie. this was better than seven samurai though. L. A. Confidential - great movie, the comment on imdb is best cop movie ever. id have to agree (off the top of my head, i might have fogetten about something). takes place in the 1950s or 60s, something like that. cops think they solved a case, but a few find that all is not right. interesting twists to the story, and everythign flows together quite nicely. there are a ton of big name stars in this too, and they all act very well. definently a must see, very enertaining. Million Dollar Baby - i dont really like these types of movies, but its was done ok i guess. i was bored the whole time, never really got into it. the acting was good enough. it didnt grab me at all though, and it took forever. around the climax of the movie i was thinking that it was an ok movie, nothing really special. i look how much time is left, thinking around 5 minutes, but there was 40 minutes left. that 40 minutes could have easily been contained into 5 or 10 minutes. just went on and on and on. i wouldnt ever watch this movie again, definently not my style.

Most anticiticiapited game this year?
i was actually okay with oblivions specs, not quite as bad as i thought. my graphics card is the last one on the list though, geforce fx 5500. still going to have to buy a new computer, unless i can figure out a way to upgrade my mother board on this one. i dont know if the processor will transfer or not though, if it doesnt it woudl just be easier to get a new computer.
