  1. I'm inclined to agree. The only real challenge in RuneScape besides the Fight Caves is a challenge you have to create for yourself, like trying to do a quest with the lowest levels you possibly can, or trying to get a lot of skills higher while remaining at level 3, which effectively takes off any advantages you might have gotten from the use of magic or some quest item. That's one of the smaller reasons I retired from RuneScape (the biggest, though, being the monotony of it all).
  2. most likely just would say "too full" or somthin like that, they wouldn't make it so you lost money It disappears.. at least thats what i've heard happens. No, it dosen't. I've seen a picture somewhere and it says "You can't hold that much!" or somthing along those lines. I personally think an update like this would be pointless though. If you really want to have more than 2.1B, then just go buy a couple of blue partyhats and use them to store the money. Hell, that is actually a better way to go then let 5B rot in the bank. Because it grows over time if you invest in the paper hats. But, if it is easy to impliment, then why not? If it requires some kind of database change or whatever though, forget about it. It would just take too much memory to give the elite few that option.
  3. Indeed. I was quite touched by that - especially since I was found worthy enough for such a statement. I really had no idea people appreciated my posts that much. However, since it's really the game that bores and frustrates me - not browsing the forums (which is what I usually spend a lot of time doing anyway) I think i'll pop in at least a few times weekly to check out what's going on in the RuneScape world. Although I can't be bothered to do anything in RuneScape anymore, things within it are still of interest to me. I especially enjoy things like the tip.it newsletter: Duke Freedom is one knowledgable guy, and although I've never had any kind of a hold on the rares market I still find myself enlightened by what he has to say - about economics, that is. Yeah, I get it  But the fact that I chose the Disk of Returning is pure cooincidence. I chose that one because it is the best rare I could afford with the money I got from my big items. And, to the argument about TV, well I don't watch much of it anyway because it's 10x more boring than RuneScape usually. If somthing is on that interests me, I'll watch it, but I won't sit there like a bump and watch it all day.
  4. Well, it's been four years since I started this game. It was fun at first, but it quickly got boring. I really don't know how I lasted this long. If I had had the presence of mind to let go of my pointless pixels a long time ago, I think I would have been a lot better off. But I'm glad I finally did. I have played this game for countless hours each day, and as a result - I don't really feel that physically good most of the time. I know I could just attempt to cut back on my play time - but I have actually tried that, and it's very hard not to say to yourself 'just another hour...' several times before you notice it's 10:00 PM. So it's time to go cold turkey, and 'kick the habit'. Actually, I don't get what about this game is so addicting anyway. Most things in the game I absolutly despise doing because they are extremely repetitive and frustrating. There are very few, fun elements that I actually enjoy. Additionaly, this game is lacking in just about every aspect of what makes a good, enjoyable MMORPG. I actually found a list online about what makes a good MMORPG, and RuneScape had very few, if any of those things. In quite a few of those things, RuneScape was the opposite. Although all of those points above have made my decide to quit, there is still I chance I will come back. It depends on if Jagex decides to put elements in the game that make it enjoyable, and/or fun elements that require no money to be enjoyable. I sold the bulk of my good members items and purchased a Disk of Returning. If I do decide to come back, then I'll have quite a bit more money than I left with. Which is a good thing :) Anyway, goodbye everyone, and happy 'scaping
  5. Why the heck use Dharok's tomb? Why not one of the others? Everyone prays 24/7 on Dharok, but there are those that choose not to pray on some of the others. My closest-to-death experience was in torags mound, because I never pray on him because he is normally weak, but he managed to get in quite a few good (20+) hits. Try Verac, Ahrim, and Karil's mound. They are the deadlier brothers that some don't pray on. (I sometimes don't pray on Verac, and he usually is the one who hits the most). Besides barrows, I reccomend places like the top of the waterfall if you like scenery. It's nice to sit there and watch the water flow :)
  6. You need a combined total of 130 strength and attack, for example, 65 attack and 65 strength would get you in, as would 70 strength and 60 attack. If your combined attack and strength is lower than that, you won't be able to get in. Keg balancing game? Is that even officially one of the minigames? I'll add that in anyway... but can you even get tokens from it? It dosen't have that red minigame symbol.
  7. Old content, but new news (to most anyway). Never knew this. Still won't keep them because antipoisons are 4 doses and these can't be combines to more than one; but if it's an immunity like the super anti that's a different story entirely :)
  8. Okay guys, I checked it out and I figured out the rates for how many tokens you get for the different minigames and incorperated that into the guide. Dummy Game: Each dummy you whack gives 2 tokens. Catapult Game: Each object you succesfully defend against gives 1 token. Rock Game: I didn't realize there was an 18 lb and 22 lb throw, so I added that in. For the 18 lb throw it seems to give 1 ticket per yard you throw it +1, and for the 22 lb 1 ticket per yard you throw it +3. Also added a note that you could use energy potions to help you play this game. Armour Game: I added in a little section with some figures on how long it might take each armour to desintigrate. The figures I put in were that it took 5 fights for bronze, 1 for iron ( ), 14 for steel, and 60+ for black (did that many fights and just gave up because I already got 1200 ticekts from it and that's almost enough to get your rune defender from nothing). Also added in a bit of advice, and removed the thing about the black demon/rune armour comparison because I apparantly don't know enough about the demons than I gave myself credit for. Minor change: Changed 'ticket' in the guide to 'token' (proper).
  9. I'm pretty sure for the dummy and catapult one it's one token per dummy hit/successfuly defended, but I'll have to check that out later today to be sure. The, tokens (i'll have to fix that in a minute), are indeed bankable. I don't think rune armour desintigrates. I've been using that for a long time and it has never disintigrated. It might be different for the lower armours, though, I might have to do a bunch of trial runs with that.
  10. This rant has been posted before. = "I'll keep posting pointless flames to get my postcount up if I damn well please". Try being kind, mmkay? If you really want to do somthing, PM a mod and ask them to merge all of the topics on the subject. If you can find any other topics
  11. I wish people would stop the usless "BEEN POSTED B4!" flames. There are always inevitably going to be multiple topics about the same thing as the serch button isn't all that reliable to someone who dosen't know how to use it that well (like me  ). So stop burning people for making tiny 'mistakes'
  12. Actually I find that they are quite weak for their level i.e. a blue dragon (lvl 111) is much harder than the animated rune armour (lvl 135) Hmm, I've never broken the armour when I fight it... has it been confirmed that this can happen? :? If so... ugh lol. True, dragons are stronger than these, but that's because they're, well, dragons. They just have better defense than rune gives. But like I said, the rune armour is much harder than a black demon, because I hit black demons MUCH more often with a d hally than i do them, and also these have hit 14s on me, and very often, wheras a black demon's max hit is 13.
  13. Okay, I'm not so good at introductions, so I'll get right into the guide :) Floor 1 This is where you first enter the guild. When you come past the courtyard, to your left will be the armour animation room minigame, and to your right the Dummies minigame. Further down there are a couple of shops, and a bank. Armour Animation Minigame This room is where, by far, you will earn tokens the fastest. But, it's also the riskiest way to go as there are tough monsters involved - that is, if you choose the higher end armours to animate. You can animate any armour from bronze to rune. To do this, you need a platebody, platelegs, and full helm of that armour. After you kill the animated armour, it will drop the armour you used to make it along with some tokens. Here is a list of the different armours with their levels and how many tokens they drop. Bronze Level 11 Tokens: 5 Iron Level 22 Tokens: 10 Steel Level 46 Tokens: 15 Black Level 69 Tokens: 20 Mithril Level 92 Tokens: 25 Adamant Level 113 Tokens: 30 Rune Level 138 Tokens: 40 These monsters range from very easy to very hard,. While the bronze one can be easily one-hitted by a level 50, the rune one can hit you for numbers over 10 often, and it has very good defense. Keep in mind, also, that the armour and weapon bonuses that are given them make them easily harder than most monsters around their levels. For example; I got hit harder and much more often, and had quite a bit more trouble dispatching an animated mithril armour than a dustdevil, which is around the same level. But, as the information above shows, the harder armours drops more tokens. Also, they have a much lower chance of disintigrating. I killed a bronze one 5 times and the platebody disintigrated, once with iron and the helm was gone, and 14 times with steel before the platelegs bit it. But then I did 60 runs with the black armour and I got tired of waiting around for it to die. So if you are using that or up, I wouldn't worry about loosing it, at least not anytime soon. Based on the number of tokens recieved and the ease of the battle, I reccomend black for tokens because it drops half as much as rune but you can easily kill 5+ of them using the same food as one rune one. Note: If you leave room, log out, or otherwise exit in the middle of a fight with one of these, they will dissapear. No armour is lost, though, you can get it back from the minigame master. It also might be possible to damage the armour you are using. This has never happened to me, but I've been using rune and there is a posibility certain armours break more/less often. Also, keep in mind that this is the warriors guild, and as such magic and range attacks will not work in here. I've observed people using them many times and here, and they have never done damage, but always hit for a zero. Whack-a-Dummy Minigame This game is more complicated than the preceeding one, but much less deadly. There are seven types of dummies that emerge from the holes, each coresponding to a different attack style. These styles are Agressive, Defensive, Accurate, Controlled, Slash, Crush, and Stab. The best way to do this minigame is bring a scimitar, which has all three training styles (Agressive, Defensive, Accurate, and Controlled), and also has a Slash and Stab Attack, and also a weapon with a crush attack such as a staff or even a rubber chicken. You get 2 tokens for every dummy you succesfully whack. Here is the ingame guide to show you what dummies correspond to each style, and also an example of me using a slash attack against the slash dummy. Shops There are a couple of shops on this level, the Food shop and Potion shop. Here are pictures of what they sell. Bank There is also a bank on this level for easy banking of drops from the Cyclops on the top level and for withdrawing food after a tough battle with the Armours. It's just south of the shops. Floor 2 Up the stairs are two more minigames and the weapons shop. The Catapult minigame, and the 22 LB Rock Throw Minigame, and the Weapons Shop. Catapult Minigame This is one of the simpler minigames. Simply right click on the dwarf and request a shield, take off your current shield and weapon, step on the target and equip the shield, then keep choosing the correct defensive option for the objects that fly at you. There are Stabbing, Blunt, Slashing, and Magic projectiles. To defend against them, simply choose the correct option before it reaches you. You get 1 token for every object you succesfully defend against. Here is a picture of the interface, and to the right of each option I put a pic of a projectile as it flys toward you so you know what each looks like from a distance. 18/22 LB Rock Throw Minigame This is by far the simplest minigame, but the most limited in how much you can do it. All you have to do is unequip everything you are wearing, pick up a stone, choose a throwing style (No information yet on the difference between them) and throw the rock. You will recieve tokens based on how far each of your throws are. For the 18 lb throw, you will get tokens for each yard +1 extra. For the 22 lb throw, you will get tokens for each yard + 3 extra. The limit on this minigame is that it takes a lot of run energy to throw the rocks. Once you reach under 10% run energy, it will say you are too exhausted to continue. Also, the lower on run energy you are, the shorter your throws will be. This could potentially be a very good way to make tickets, provided you have (super) energy potions to waste. Armoury This is the guild's Armoury; here is sold several different types of weapons, and medium helmets and chainbodies. Here is a picture of what is sold: Floor 3 There is only one thing up on this level, and it's where you get the reward for you tokens: The cyclops enclosure. To enter, you must have at least 100 tokens. Every one minute in this enclosure takes away 10 tokens from you inventory. After you run out and the next deduction occurs, you are ejected from the enclosure. There are two types of Cyclops, each have the same drops, but they look different and one is level 56 and the other is level 72. The latter might give the good drops, like the defenders, more often. More on the defenders later. Here are pictures of what each Cyclops looks like: (level 56) (level 72) Rewards The rewards for collecting tokens and killing Cyclops are a new weapons that are weilded in the shield slot, that look like dirks, called defenders. When you kill enough Cyclops, eventually one will drop a bronze defender. After you get this drop, exit the enclosure and use it with the lady outside. She will acknowledge you and inform you that she has now released cyclops that will drop the next (iron) defender. Keep killing them until you get this drop, and do the same thing as last time and she will say that the next (steel) one will be dropped. Keep doing this until you get a rune defender, if you wish. Here are the pictures and the stats of these 'defenders': Bronze Iron Steel Black Mithril Adamant Rune Good luck, and have fun getting these new 'weapons'. I hope you have enjoyed my guide :)
  14. Congratulations on hitting 100 man (or being close to it). Lol you certainly are doing more about this occasion than I was. I was in a quiet, dark secluded training ground when I hit the big 1-0-0. Nobody to brag to  I might come, depending on weather my clan has anything scheduled for that time. We have lots of events, really! :)
  15. Yes items do appear to other players when left on the ground for a minute or two. :) Be careful of that. I don't think I even killed it. I just got logged out when I first started fighting it, I logged back in, and the thing was gone.
  16. Yes, true. I see a lot of Melee PKers with them though
  17. Hi guys, I recently achieved a rune defender, and I thought I'd share all of the defender's stats for those of you who are wondering. EDIT: Updated with pics of each defender (dirk) and with stat windows. Enjoy  Bronze Iron Steel Black Mithril Adamant Rune So, now the obby shield isn't the only shield slot thing that has a strength bonus. The rune one has just as much as it, in fact. It only has half the defense, but what it lacks in that it makes up for in attack stats. The attack stats of the rune defender are 250% higher than that of the Zamorak book - which makes that obsolete for anyone who has this new weapon.
  18. OH MY GOD... I got logged out for some reason while fighting a rune armour animated, and it was gone when i logged back in... there goes 150k.
  19. I know. Heaven forbid you might have to work for something for a change. That's my freakin point... you work for somthing and you have to rely on luck to get it... YEAH there's work involved in even being up there in the first place. I'd gladly pay 100000 of those tickets for a rune defender... just to avoid all of the human competition and the luck factor, which are the two must frustrating things in the game.
  20. doesn't it make you more happy when you get one then? Aren't more things just plain luck, like barrows and that kind of stuuf, Poorly thought post IMO It's not fair that someone who has worked for the reward a fraction of the time I have and they get it a lot sooner with many less tickets. Seriously, what's the point in the tickets if all they do is buy you time in which you may or may not get lucky?
  21. This is stupid. I killed hundreds of them and only got a bronze defender. Great job, jagex make people work for time spent trying to get your rewards instead of just setting a ticket price for them. No, but you want the rewards to rely on luck, like everything else (like the combat system itself...)! Poorly thought up update IMO.

There are no safespots. Unlike normal dragons, their dragonbreath can travel past close quarters. In fact, if you mage them, all they will do is sit there and flame you from a distance. This is actually kind of good, though, because you don't need prayer. But you still need a dragonfire shield, and you also need to use antifire pots.
  23. Peronix replied to Paul00's topic in Help and Advice
For good drops: If you have 65 slayer, dustdevils. If not, fire giants. If you don't mind not getting that many good drops, caged greaters in watchtower. But then again you can't pick up arrows... If you don't mind getting those levels slowly but at the same time earning a TON of money, range blues in the watchtower dungeun. Pleanty of safespots - I killed 600 of them and banked bones and hides, got me from 73-75 range and 60-65 prayer with the bones :)
  24. 1 I've spent like 5Mish, and that's gotten me to around level 68. I still enjoy it because although my house is already quite opulent, it can improve, which is exciting.
  25. Oh god... I think it's been like 6M now. Goal is 70, need another 600k to reach it. Then i'm quitting it for good.
