  1. My purple party hat, not because of its monetary value, but because it means a lot to me. All my friends chipped in the cash so I could buy it. It was the greatest collaboration in my RS career. However, as I paid them all back one by one, they all started drifting away from each other. The same day everybody was paid back in whole, the entire group split apart. Now, they all hate each other, but they're still friends with me. Some have quit, and I don't see them often anymore. Yet the hat still remains as a symbol of our friendship.
  2. Personally, I wouldn't want a facial update for the players. For example: What if Jagex made a really stupid face model for our players? It would just make me more angry every time I looked at a scammer or begger. Perhaps if they gave us a list of expressions to choose from, I might be okay with it. However, One uniform expression for everybody would probably make me sick.
  3. 7/10, I recognize that Strongbad avatar from time to time
  4. Walking to a city in the sky would be pretty hard, don't you think? I don't think a city in the sky would be impossible. You can already walk on clouds in the killerwatts domain. The means of getting there, however, is a whole 'nother story.
  5. Yes you can, just do it the old way...
  6. I noticed this the other day. They used to be the same stats as infinity. Now, each piece has a +2 magic bonus than its infinity counterpart, and the amulet, which used to offer a +5 magic bonus and defence, is now the best magic amulet in the game. Earlier, I was annoyed that Magic was shafted in the third age class items. Now, I'm actually considering getting them.
  7. If that's your standpoint, you might want to change your sig and avatar. I mined coal and banked in the mining guild for 85 mining. The day after I reached level 85, the granite mine came out, but I didn't complain. I can accept the fact that Jagex will continue to release bigger and better things, including methods to train. However, when Jagex decides to "Fix" things like this, I get annoyed when people begin to complain everywhere. The old methods aren't that bad, and the people who leveled in the past used them, so how is it unfair that they nerfed your new training method. I am annoyed at Jagex at the many ways they have been managing the game lately. However, they're only human. They can't do everything. It's also their game. They can do whatever they want with it. For these reasons, I've never seen the point of protesting Jagex's updates every other week. I'm indifferent to this update. Though I feel the pain for those who were training there, they need to learn to live with it.
  8. No, somebody else stole My name... Funny story: My Middle school band director always gave nicknames to his students. Mine was simply my initials: J.T. Well, after I graduated, and my sister became his student, he followed the same format for her nickname. The only problem is, her name is Emily. Now everybody calls her E.T. and it's all my fault :P
  9. I believe that's when you tell her about the nature spirit quest. She says something along the lines of, "It's good to hear that you helped a fellow Guthix follower in his time of need" or something. On topic: I forget who said this, but I seem to remember somebody at the beginning of Recruitment Drive explain what the Temple Knights are all about. They said they "Had connections to all the most influential figures of Runescape, including Kings.....(Forget the rest)" They also said at the end of that one sea slug quest that if the sea slugs escaped, their main strategy would be to take control of every leader of Runescape. Could the White Knights and Sea Slugs have similar motives? :-k

Wow, I must be an idiot.... When I came to the vegetable part, I said "Orange!" Realizing that wasn't a vegetable, I switched to carrot, probably because it's orange too. Now, does this mean I fell for it or not? Am I normal, abnormal, or just a plain moron? Then again, it is 1:00 AM right now...
  11. It would be pretty funny to see what would happen if they sold Runescape. Let's say some powerful corporation like Ask.com bought it. What if they don't have the time/skills to make updates? They'd be overwhelmed by whining on the forums, people would quit left and right, and Runescape would probably die (Or at least reduced to very few players) in two months. Whoever bought it would watch their money disintegrate right in the palms of their hands...
  12. I sort of want the shield. It might match my void knight. I'll eventually get the magic set, but right now, I'm happy with my infinity. Also, is it just me, or did they change the stats of the mage set? They used to have the same bonuses as their infinity counterparts, and the amulet was worse that a regular amulet of magic. Could have been a KB typo though... :-k
  13. I'm both a rune miner AND an Abyss RCer. My theory is thus: Ever since the beginning of rune mining on RSC, Pkers have risen up to challenge the miners. Due to the popularity of pking, and the fact that there was only one spot to mine rune, I guess many miners knew the risks they were taking, and accepted the consequences (For the most part) When the abyss was introduced, many RCers abandoned their old methods of reaching the altars to reap the rewards of the speedy route through the wild. Unfortunately, Runecrafting had been a low risk skill prior to the abyss, and being pked was a foreign matter to runecrafters. Also, many RCers didn't expect to be killed in such shallow wilderness. This leads us into the complaints. Another simple way of looking at it is that Rune mining isn't as popular as Abyss RCing today. That's just my take on it, but there could be many other reasons and factors as well. Disclaimer: I was not around during RSC
  14. Well, when you use the horn, the instructions appear at the top of the other player's screen. If both players use the horn, it's easier to notice when it disappears, so you can shout out your next instructions. That, and not everybody who plays RS is going to have access to Teamspeak, especially when you recruit somebody you don't know... -.-
  15. I never said it was going to be a skill. I guess I should have said Necromancy. I'm not getting my hopes up about it either, but you never know. Just like POH in the May Behind the scenes
  16. I'm sorry, but doesn't this sound a little bit like summoning? :-k
  17. Root Beer: the king of all sodas.
  18. I shake my head in pity when I see people ask other people what skill cape they're wearing, when they could just check the picture on the back. If you hang around the Rimmington house portal enough, you'll hear people asking where the "Chief of Falador" is. (They think "Chief Harold" is a person, when "Chief Herald" is actually a title)
  19. The way I see it, plants and animals are both living things. The more you study about the functions of a plant, the more you realize how similar it is to an animal. (They both are comprised of cells, both reproduce, both die, etc.) Now, tell me how harvesting a healthy head of lettuce in order to feed on its leaves is any different than killing a cow in its prime to feed on its meat.
  20. Can I trust links for Megaupload? Is there any chance I could get a keylogger from a link to megupload?
  21. I was runecrafting through the abyss last night while private messaging a friend, when I looked up, and realized that I was snared and teleblocked, as a pker was running up to me with a dds. Suddenly, he was struck with the infamous Runescape disease of uncontrollable legs (He was running back and forth, not where he wanted to go). Thinking the snare would wear off before he finished being addled, I decided not to drop my items, and waited to make a run for it. When he reached me, he proceeded to unleash devastating dds specials on me. By the time the teleblock wore off, I had 15 hitpoints on me. I approach the zamorak mage and.... BOOM! 10. I teleport into the abyss. As the screen loads, I think to myself, "5 hp, most likely poisoned, teleblocked, surrounded by those pesky abyssal monsters. Great." When I arrived, I immediately clicked the nearest obstacle. Three 0's appeared on my character, when I reached the "Small Gap". As my character was doing his little animation or whatever, I thought, "What does it matter, the poison will kill me in one hit anyway...". At the same time, I searched my chat box for the "You have been poisoned" message. There wasn't one. If I made it through the gap, I would survive. If I didn't, I would receive 4-5 attacks from the monsters, and most likely die (Avid runecrafters will know what I'm talking about). It was an extremely tense moment, until my character appeared on the other side! Again, I searched the chat for the poison message, but it was nowhere to be found. Still in shock, I crafted my runes with 5 Hitpoints left, logged in and out, and teleported back to edgeville to nurse myself back to health. That was probably my closest call in a long time at the abyss. If things like this happened all the time, I'd probably never get bored of the skill! So, I thought it would be interesting to hear anybody else's Abyss stories. They can be dramatic, silly, strange or anything, as long as they're true. As a side note: I thought you were automatically poisoned if you were dealt damage during a dds special attack. Anyway, post away!
  22. I think many people who try Runescape for their first time might be put off by the F2P community. I know every time I journey into F2P to meet a friend, all the attitudes of the players cause me to question the condition of the game. The game (And its community) is a lot better in P2P, and I can see how any newcomer might condemn Runescape because of immature people on the free servers.
  23. Wow! VERY nice =D> I've stopped MTK for a while now (Partly due to being low on cash after buying my party hat). However, I think I might start up my kingdom again, especially when I go on vacation for a week.
  24. ...And shouldn't the stuff you wear be a rough indicator of who you are? There ARE a few exceptions, but when it comes right down to it, you are the one who decides what to wear. When you choose your clothes, you are consciously projecting who you are through what you wear.
  25. I'm pretty sure everybody makes judgements all the time. Without judgement, we wouldn't have "Opinion", and therefore, we'd all be a conformist society. As for judging people by the way they dress, I don't think anybody can honestly say that they haven't judged somebody at least ONCE from their appearences. "You can't judge a book by its cover" Or can you? Usually, people are dressed the way they dress for a reason. T-Shirts with messages on them can display ones beliefs. Somebody who dresses sloppily might not particularly care for his/her hygiene. People who are dress "Gangtsa" most likely associate themselves with that crowd (Not saying that any of this is bad). Now, if you still refuse to believe that you have judged a person from what they wear: You see an officer next to a police car, in his uniform with all his equipment. "It's a police officer", you think to yourself. You just made a preemptive judgement about that person without having spoken with him, or knowing anything else about his personal background. This also proves that preemptiv judgements by how people dress aren't always wrong.
