  1. Not letting other games advertise on this website? Who the hell decided on that? :wall:
  2. The concept behind holiday quests is nice. However in 5 years time you'll end up with 15 seasonal quests, 5 winter, 5 easter and 5 hallowe'en. I think they're right to re-use the same basic layout for each event, as it probably saves alot of time when designing it. Jagex just need to be inventive with their events. Perhaps re-use the toy-factory for Christmas and cycle through the different areas once every few years? So: 2010: Easter Bunny Workshop, Hallowe'en at Deaths House, Christmas in the Toy Factory 2011: Give out chocolate eggs to random NPC's, Hallowe'en go trick or treating, Christmas go to see Jack Frost. 2012: Easter Bunny Workshop but different, Hallowe'en at Deaths House but different etc etc etc. A two year cycle with varying events but the same basic layout would ease up on the workload and stop people saying "oh this was the same as last year". Although no doubt some haters would then say "oh its the same as two years ago". But screw them :)
  3. At least they didn't waste too much time on it. Doesn't compare to Pika Tips :P
  4. I have a nice Dell laptop that does the trick. The graphics card isn't up to much though so HD is terribly slow. But even if I could run it I would still play in Safe Mode. HD looks like textures have just been crapped everywhere at random.
  5. Perhaps Jagex are embarrassed of their ingame graphics so they have to rely on concept art to sell their game? That or F2P doesn't have anything worth offering..
  6. They're quite rare, but not fake! 16-17-673-60477220 Page 4 Someone on that thread has a very good point that the blue face could indicate a blue box stage of the next Monkey Quest?
  7. True, however I would hope that Jagex haven't put too many developers onto the new skill. I don't like the idea that last year was the result of not enough content developers being available and Jagex passing it off as an "upgrade year" or perhaps that this year has been percieved so far as bad because there isn't a balance between the new skill and long-lasting high level content. The double experience weekend to me appears something that was done to tide over customers, and to attract new ones because of the recent lack in updates, compared to the end of last year when we had high level Herblaw, Prayer and a pretty hard Nomad quest at the beginning of this year.
  8. Just might like to mention that last year a new skill was not released. Just might like to mention that one new skill maketh not the year.
  9. I still have many things to do in Runescape, and certainly won't be desperately be needing new content for a while. However we were told that this year would be better than last year in terms of higher level updates and that it would be "awesome", so far it has yet to deliver.
  10. Play free, but you'll have to pay if you want to access the content we've shown in the advertisement!
  11. Yes. If lower is better?
  12. [hide=548][/hide] Look at the chatbox... You should have used 14. They can get, at a maximum, 1 resource per turn, and you have to pay an extra upkeep resource per turn anyways + 2 resources to hire.
  13. Announce a whole host of high level updates. Than give us a novice quest on the 2nd.
  14. As far as I know, they don't take 6 months to make, but they do start 6 months before the update. Like they said in the recent DevBlog by Mod Raven, with time sensitive projects, it's best to start early and work at a decent pace then start a week before and have to rush it... sounds like me writing an essay, started a week ago, have 4 pages done, and due tomorrow with 4 pages to go. Guess I'm doing an all-nighter. My point still stands. Members of the content team are preoccupied for 6 months working at a snails pace for something which in most cases hangs around for 2 weeks and then dies. I'd much rather them be working at a snails pace on lasting piece of content rather than a pun-filled holiday event that tries to be clever.
  15. Holiday events aren't what they used to be.. Jagex are putting FAR too much effort into them. They only stay around for 2 weeks so why spend 6 months (*cough* Halloween) working on them? I'd much rather they re-hashed the same event each year, giving chocolate eggs to people around rs, trick or treating etc. Wake me up when Jagex come through with their promise of an "awesome year", so far it's been worse than last year..
  16. The UK Tax year runs from April the 6th to April the 5th (the next year). I don't see why that should make any difference to how Jagex release their content. They have always given estimations based on the normal calender Jan-Dec. Unless you're trying to be clever.
  17. Considering you called the file "Brunom" I couldn't possibly hazard a guess..
  18. Telegrabbing gold below Varrock Bank.
  19. So.. Basically all this tells us is that Mod Raven will be the lead designer behind this years Halloween event, which is going to be in 6/7 months time.. Perfect. In the mean time i'm going to twiddle my thumbs waiting for the graphics department to hurry the [bleep] up with FTP3..
  20. And are only useable in a minigame. (Unless you're good a glitching).
  21. Then don't. It's still fun to read through what's happening. Like a...spontaneous fiction story that evolves every day. Oh and I might as well point this out now to speculators: This event will likely not culminate in an item or update, since April 10th is a Saturday, assuming this even is an actual Jagex event. Thankyou for that brilliant observation. I've never thought of not doing something before if I didn't like it.. Really I didn't! I'm not expecting any great item to come from this (look a the first cryptic clue hunt). The reward will be probably be the satisfaction of doing the clues yourself (unless you use a guide or get help of course). Events like this shouldn't give out items as rewards. There are probably many thousands of people who play RS and don't use the forums regularly who would miss out on them.
  22. ^ I don't have time for these community events. The RSOF are pretty much horrible to look through and this doesn't really appeal to my casual gaming approach to RS.
  23. 5.2b for a blue partyhat? For a completely useless item??? My god some people must be stupid. Or bored.
  24. A Novice Quest isn't going to have 15 minutes of backstory to wade through, the player would have shut RS down by that point!
  25. Going into your POH? My LP drains for a second when I go to mine..
