I love cave horror tasks. In the 2 weeks ive been slaying, only had a couple of cave horror tasks, and ive got 6 masks from them, 4 of which sold when they peaked, sold for 920k ea.

Nice stats and bob. Pc back when it first came out with a clan was enjoyable, since i did it so much, nearly all summer involved it. (90-99 all melee, 82-94 mage, 80-90 range, 88-90 pray all in pc points) Was fun playin with friends.

no he didn't serve he just keeps a tank in his backyard just for cool photo ops. I knew I was going to get that...But meh, while I don't think keeping a tank in one's backyard is legal, he doesn't need to have served. Maybe he knew a guy? :lol: Actually, you can have tanks, just need to have demilled guns and be older military surplus, new surplus is "illegal" unless bought at a military auction.

Simply put, some people dont like rares, and find them pointless. At the point i reached in rs, ive kinda gave up on rares, and playin this game for a game, to have fun. Not sayin that people dont find collecting rares fun, but some people set their priorities different. To say someone is jealous about rares, some people im sure would rather have fun with the money then hoarding it for a "future investment", so its not always a case of jealousy. Just throwing my two pennies worth out there.

The holiday season doesnt have as much of an effect on rares as it once did, now season round they fluctuate. If anything, rares drop do to the mass of people attempting to sell for profit. A long time ago, like 2-3 years, the holidays used to be the ultimate money maker. You could have bought a few santas at like 1-3m each, and sell them for 6-8m, then after the holidays they would go back down.

Why invest in stocks or bonds when you could die tomorrow? :lol: Rares' prices and rare demand is validated by two things: investment and status. And those two factors validate the hats' exorbitant prices. I would not invest into the stock market, i'd invest into classic cars, they never go down in price, only go up as they age :wink:

Why do we train our skills every day of the week for years? What's the point of having many "unneeded" 99s (lvl 99 has no difference to lower levels, for example farming or firemaking) or going over 13m xp in any skill? There are things in online games that can't be rationally explained. We want to do things that aren't always the "best" thing. If we only take a look at the investing part, the answer is relatively easy. It gets us easy money while we do nothing after buying it. Before I joined army, I had some loose rs gp and worked a bit more till I could buy a purple phat for 98m. Currently it's twice more and I've done nothing. If we count the status symbolism too, it's even easier to explain why do we buy rares. They show immediately to everyone around us that we are something. That kind of showing off is normal for mankind, not just for majority of rs players. I have began to take this game more as a, how can i say it, game? I used to buy phats, hoard all my money, and in the end, it was pointless, made me feel like there was a never ending cycle to working hard and buying something else. Now i just come on sometimes to work on skills and have fun, which is the point of the game. Maybe rares are your thing, but i just see no point in having the majority of my money in a "investment" on a game, rather focus those investments for rl. :wink:

I have came to realize, after having every rare (except cracker) that they seem to me to be pointless. I mean, why invest on a online game that could end tomorrow? Playing a game to have fun would be the first priority, i see no sense in "investing" on a game.

Pretty nice for a stake-less bank. There are some old payers tho that hide out with alot of rares. A guy in my good friend's clan has a 80 bil+ bank, all from rsc drops, not aloud to say a name tho for securety reasons.

ya kubert7 and urballzrmine are the richest well known stakers, i do know of someone with a 80 bil+ bank tho that is a old school player :P

If your good at staking its nothing to make money. Ive had a friend go from 1m to over 3 bil in jsut a week. The key with staking is to know when to stop while your ahead (most cannot do this because staking becomes an addiction). Personally, im not much of a staker, only won a few mil stakes, but if your good at it, income is like nothing. To stake also you have to be willing to lose everything, which many cant do (including me).
