It'd be a pretty big job to be a permanent judge. Is there anyone who wants to be? I doubt we can get someone in from outside the game...
-
I both like Dan's idea of assigning each unit a "point" value and Rocco's idea of a judge. If we could possibly combine them to say, if you're over 200,000 points greater than your opponent, you win automatically, but casualties are still recorded? Or maybe that's unnecessary. Of course, if we only have two alliance rings, then a judge would have to be picked from either side. Perhaps we would need two judges, in that case.

Could you please explain what you dislike? We don't want inactivity to drop because some of us are behaving like asshats. I sincerely apologise if I was the one to cause you offence.

I vote Germany steps up to the plate. Even in real life, they are reknowned for their engineers. Game wise, I've directed Luxembourg's educational system towards engineering, science, and math. Hopefully someday, i can fill that role. Especially seeing as how Germany is dealing with a lot of infants at the moment. Few more days (years) and we should have all the war mechanics we need. Are you trolling me? CAUSE THERE'S GONNA BE BAD STUFF IF YOU ARE lol? Why would I troll this thread. I love this game. I actually ended my day early to ensure my takeover of Mozambique. If I am trolling, I'm not doing it on purpose. Luxembourg's law enforcement has become a top priority to reduce the rebellious individuals in the Belgium area. Research on "project Mobile Force" continues. and dang it, I was gonna go for DRC :/ oh well. Well, no inter-player conflict has happened before now, so hey, Feel free to try to take it EDIT: 1000th post in thread :D War mechanic = How we do PVP, not a person Seriously. Think about it. We can't just have "My 200,000 troops go up against your 300,000 troops but my troops are better trained so we win just, we took 120,000 injured or killed" IT'S NOT FAIR! Before we PVP, we need to set up a convention. I think there need to be two important parts of this; first, we need to establish what everyone's military consists of - it's no fun attacking someone then finding out they've been hiding 600,000 troops in that abandoned barn you thought you bombed. Second, we need to establish a method of PVP that's fair. Obviously, military might needs to give advantages and disadvantages, but we can't just have bigger armies winning. What about brilliant military commanders? I don't really have any ideas for this, I was thinking of a random number generator but I think that would be /too/random - it'd be like, say one army has 400,000 troops and 800 aircraft support (just for ease) and the other army only has 350,000 troops and no air support. if the number is lower than or equal to 75 (again, random guess, we'll need to iron it out) then army A wins, but if army B gets the 25% chance of victory, 76-100, then they win. Seriously, we need to think about this. Else I'm out. :P

As much as I'd love this to last, anyone who isn't keeping up with this is being left in the dust. And no one wants to be the last to post. That's how virtually all of Africa was claimed before half of OffTopic even knew what the game was. Thank the lord I was logged in when the thread started. I never would have joined if it was already 10 pages in (which it was in a matter of hours). I did. :P Japan will donate $6 billion every year until the Module's are completed. I [cabbage] you not. Our R&D is huge. EDIT: SERIOUSLY WE NEED A WAR MECHANIC

brbjosephstalin All right. We'll roll with it. You're happy to trade 20 million people for 10 million new borns. It's your country, I guess. :P Well people were saying when i started that the people would have died, but if it's allowed i'll swap the 10 million forced childeren for the 82 million population in a heartbeat : Well, I think 20 million deaths in 3 years of anarchy - 1 in 4 - is a gross exaggeration. At most, 3 million would have died but I'd say that at least 15 million are living in extreme poverty. Thus, having more children is not helping them very much! :P It's not that important, but I'd rather you had a nice compromise of 6 million children being born and only 3 million (that's like 2800 a day, which is absurdly high, but so is 6 million children, imo) deaths from the anarchy. Norway, Japan is willing to donate pure cash from our R&D budget to the space project. It is expected that this donation will not be forgotten. We can discuss an exact amount later, but a ballpark figure is enough for one module.

Your over-complicating it, around 60m total population, saying around 60% are women, which sounds fair, which means 36 millions women, as i said before, roughly just above a third of all the women became pregnant during the year, meaning over 12 million women. Initialy i was aiming for just 10 million born after deaths, but a much lower death rate increased it slightly. First http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=population+of+germany&btnG=Google+Search&meta=&aq=f&oq= Second not all women are child bearing, let's say 1/3rd are, is it really plausible that every single child bearing woman in your country gave birth? your hospitals just couldn't cope
-
Around 1 in 4 of all women was pregnant. Let's say that child bearing age is 23-40. From this rough guess, I'd say that about 40% of Germany's women are this age. So that brings our 1 in 4 down to 1 in 1.8. Bloody hell, that is successful Someone hit me if I'm being stupid.

Late in the year... MILITARY PERSONNEL/EQUIPMENT: After the huge success of our new naval units, one more nuclear submarines have been commissioned as well as two more aircraft carriers. The Japanese army now has 550,000 fully trained personnel, with 80,000 soldiers still in training. Furthermore, 20,000 soldiers are undergoing advanced training involving Exobreaker suits. MILITARY/DIPLOMATIC CAMPAIGNS: Nairobi surrendered with no blood shed when the Iranian/Japanese army appeared on it's doorstep, and Kenya is now fully under Japanese and Iranian control. 20,000 troops are completing their training here, helping to police the land while the few rebels attempt to cause some trouble. The majority of the Japanese army presses on immediately into Uganda, hoping to scare the government there into peaceful surrender. If not, with the new A-3 suits in Japan's arsenal we expect to have the smaller country subjugated to Japanese rule within a year. For now, I think Japan is controlling Kenya. Iran is using it as a military base. I think this is what's going on, anyway. INFRASTRUCTURE: Pollution levels in Japan are at an all time low, resulting in a reduced strain on our public healthcare system. The money is being used to increase the standard of Japan's hospitals. CC15 continues to grow, it's inhabitants having risen to 120,000 people. The population overall having grown by 400,000. Papua New Guinea is flourishing under Japanese rule, the education system is producing some bright young minds there. The number of aids and malaria related deaths in Japan and Papua New Guinea has dropped by almost 300,000 since Japanese intervention.
-
They're not for sale - at least as far as I'm aware. Possibly for the A-2 designs. You can purchase individual units from Iran, but they're wired so that any attempt to dismantle them will cause them to break or something equally damaging to your research! @That rule about 2nd countries.. I think we should scrap it. I don't think it's productive.
-
I don't get it. Empires are all the same colour. If you mean alliances.. well, the countries are still their own country. It doesn't make them one. Following a lack of inactivity from Russia, Japan has decided to leave the IAC to help free itself of political tangles. Current alliances are with Iran and Israel. Neutrality stance with Venezuela.
-
I assume you mean the lines on Kenya. That's because there is a unified military assault going on there, of Iran and Japan. I don't think it's confusing at all. Also, Reb, Luxembourg invaded the Vatian on page 7 or something. He's been playing with the pope for ages.
-
I'd like to suggest dating all the maps, and perhaps collecting them in one post, so that we can see the change of empires as the game progresses. Also, it looks like much of the unclaimed world is being grabbed up - if we are to do PVP, how should that work? RNG?
-
I have to say I agree with this. Before playing, I knew next to nothing about Japan, now I know an awful lot more. I've also learnt about heavy water, tritium, and the like.
-
Yes. I've made a point of this three times in the past two pages. NK and SK are one country now.

We should put him in charge of Andorra. Giggle.

Japan's 8 month update. MILITARY PERSONNEL/EQUIPMENT: The Nuclear submarines codenamed "Pooh, Piglet, Kanga and Roo" have all been launched and are currently hiding in classified locations. The aircraft carrier Tigger has proven to be a huge assistance in Japanese naval campaigns so far, and has completed it's first tour of duty in Papua New Guinea. It's next destination is again classified. With high pay opportunities as well as a government encouraged cut down on the timber industry, around 100,000 strong Japanese young men have joined the army since the start of the year - as well as another 100,000 troops completing their training. This brings Japanese military numbers to 675,000. Of these, 500,000 are fully trained. 80,000 more troops are being transported to Kenya in a final sweep of the country. MILITARY/DIPLOMATIC CAMPAIGNS: With currently two 100 strong squadrons equipped with A-3 exo suits, Japanese troops are storming through the Kenyan countryside with almost no resistance, while the bulk of our forces (Japanese/Iranian light infantry) head towards Nairobi. The 80,000 reserve troops are set to arrive a few months into the new year, just after we have completely subjugated Kenya. Upon arrival, the plan is to sweep straight into Uganda and assault the capital, taking the country without too much warfare - Uganda is much smaller than Kenya. We expect to have Uganda under control by July of next year. INFRASTRUCTURE: Further widespread use of the anti pollution Verde Soylante (henceforth known as Vante Soyd) has dropped pollution across Japan by 1.7%, and in Tokyo by 4%. CC15 (the city upon the water) is bustling, with almost 100,000 inhabitants. The sea-wall has proved effective, and so far there have been no casualties within the city. The population has increased again, but only 600,000 children were born this year. Papua New Guinea is seeing the benefits of Verde Soylante, the small population of 6.3 million rising to 6.5. There are also plans to connect up the various obscure towns around the city, hopefully increasing the GDP from $13 billion to around 14. A similar plan is in place for Kenya (or at least, the parts under Japanese/Iranian control as of this post), Verde Soylante should be able to swell population numbers from 38 million to 39 within two years. Furthermore, the AIDS/Malaria vaccines are being distibuted to these two countries. It's costing a lot, especially in Kenya, but it's putting the population more at ease with Japanese ruling.

Thank's I will now take south korea with the above mentioned plan minus the floating cities instead i will simply drain marshes No. SK has already been claimed mate, sorry. Yes, I agree, I've over reacted about the alliances but I'm tired and nervous about how the world is shaping out. Need to write up an update on Japan's movements asap. <3 Iran
-
Da_Latios claimed SK for his use as well. Furthermore, Japan has been investing heavily in a form of floating cities. Haven't been reading what your ally is up too? Or were you too busy getting new ones? EDIT: Also yeah, about Verde Soylante, I said two years ago that in one years time I'd release it to my allies, and in in another years time I'd release it commercially in the world. The genetic code that is, not the seeds.
-
I think the guy playing Germany either quit, or hasn't been active since the thread started. You don't get to claim a second country. Just go with the flow basically. Japan will give you some lovely super plants which will help your agricultural industry quite a bit - they're quite widespread in the world and called Verde Soylante.

Almost all Japanese military scientists are enroute to the Faroe islands to work with Iranian scientists based there. They are bringing with them a substantial slice of the Japanese R&D budget - $20 billion USD. Let the techs be discovered! They're also under extremely tight security..

Cruiseships carry a few thousand people. Why the was the average person on the cruise ship carrying 500,000 dollars in luggage. they were bankers Fine then, if we're godmodding a bit, several of the bankers on the ship were brazilian, and in response, Brazil has sent 12 frigates, and 15 cruisers to the coast of somalia to stop all future pirating. I lol'd. Hard. Let's not let this degenerate though, if one nation is being an idiot then we can all just gang up on them realistically and explode them.

Japan's A-2 squadron is being flown directly to the Faroe Island for immediate upgrades, with top priority air traffic. The A-2's we currently have in storage are to be sent within the month.
