I could feel my baby boy on the outside of my tummy today!!  Brent put his hand on my tummy and felt him kick for the first time, he was very excited ( :o ) Going up to the sunshine coast now for some breakfast and to see some friends. One of our friends is interested in being business partners so we'll see how things go.

Haha wow, that one really scared me when I was about 12/13. My cousin told it to me and I annoyed her all night to keep the light on, couldn't sleep for about a week. Another one she told me was when she was younger she had an accident and replaced her jaw with wolf. I laughed at her and said I'm not stupid I'm not falling for your stories again. She's like no really... look closer and feel it. I went forward to touch it and have a closer look to prove her wrong and she screamed out WOOOOLFF!!! like a loud dog bark. Scared the crap out of me. Cheap thrill  That happened on my grade 3 camp. I felt so bad for the little girl the guy jumped out near, she was crying and shaking.

The Stupidest Thing Anyone Has Ever Said To You
IGoddessI replied to fakeitormakeit's topic in Off-Topic
"I don't know how to sweep a floor..." ................................... :| @ plain cheese burger comment.. Maybe I'm not so bright but asking for a plain cheese burger would throw me off guard as well... So.. what do you want off it to make it plain? If you just want a cheese burger, why can't you just order "cheese burger" lol -
If only it were true in all cases lol I don't think many woman would care about the health risks :P I gained nearly 20 pounds/10 ish kilos by quitting... but that probably doesn't encourage you either :ohnoes:
-
Are you lying? :P

What I do for a living funnily enough doesn't even have anything to do with what I studied lol I mainly studied it for self development and improvement. Although it's only a two year thing I thought I would at least attempt to cheer you up. You seemed a little down about being enlisted so I thought pointing out something similar to what you wanted to do would help you get through the two years comfortably :D Who knows with your newly found blowing up skills myth busters might even want to take you on  My memory is actually really terrible lol but I try to make it a goal to get to know something about someone one person at a time.
-
Uhh... I don't know what to say to that lol  If I remember correctly you told me you were to be enlisted soon (sorry if I'm thinking of the wrong person.) If you're interested in explosions the best thing to do is apply for either combat engineer or artillery - Get paid to blow things up for a living, build them and test them ;)

Usually social pressure. If everybody is doing it - depending on how highly you rate it as stupid at the time people usually cave in to one thing or the other. My first cigarette tasted like putting my mouth over a fuel tank, if there was a spitting contest I would have won it  But EVERYBODY in my "group" smoked and I felt left out. Slowly I built a tolerance to it and my body craved the nicotine. As I got older, I realized it was a waste of money and with the amount of times it's contributed in some form or the other to my mums hospital visits and surgeries, it's scared me from touching them ever again. For women at least, some of the answers I got in a research report where because it makes them more social, they find it fixes their anxiety when talking to others and also keeps the weight off. As an ex woman smoker, I found those answers to be similar. And with research, I also found these answers to be true. There is a social pressure for women to be thin and a woman who smokes is on average 3 kilos lighter than those who do not.

The one I'm already living :D Although if I had it my way retirement would be closer than 30

We have a KFC up near us - In the past they got our order wrong every single time we've been there. I had enough by about the 6th time where we got stale chips, potato and gravy with no potato in it, they forgot to put cheese on my burger and mums piece of chicken was a scabby little wing with 0 meat on it, crumbed. All the food tasted off and my partner even got sick from it. You definitely develop a reputation when it happens so frequently, we never go there anymore. There is also a subway near us - I refuse to eat there because they don't clean their salad bar. Bits of onion all over the carrot, chilies in their lettuce, olives in their tomatoes, crap on their bread cutting knives... Yuck. If the health inspector decided to open one of their microwaves, the place would be shut down. On the plus side there is a Mc Donalds near us and they are wonderful. The order is right, every single time. The staff are always happy, the place is always beautifully clean, when I ask for fresh, I don't mind waiting 7 minutes while I can see them cooking it from scratch. I've tipped off "secret customers" to go there on numerous of occasions.

So many young people working for fast food chains fail to realize one of the key things "to think like a customer" If they've asked for no lettuce, obviously don't put lettuce on the burger, change your damn gloves. If something isn't full, fill it up. If something isn't hot, heat it up. If the dining room is a mess, get out there and clean it - people don't like sitting at messy tables. Clean as you go, ta da your work place doesn't look like a pig pen. "magic moments" - Doing that little bit extra to bring a smile before they leave. They may seem like pains in the [wagon]'s for people who don't care about their work ethic but seriously, it's not that hard. You'll avoid a lot of complaints to begin with. Then again I was an anal manager but the store had a great reputation. People who couldn't be bothered to do things properly didn't have a job. Your staff can only be as good as your manager.
-
My brother is actually a fast food manager, quite high up and I was an ex trainee manager in my younger years. We both live in Brisbane and asking for "fresh" doesn't mean it's removed. Asking for fresh means you cook it from scratch but it takes longer. Removing it from the heating cabinet anyway when a customer has specifically asked for "fresh" is actually against company policies. 7 minutes is usually standard. Nuggets are a popular ask as well as fries. If you practice that kind of thing in your store, I would call you a poor worker, sorry.

No we're just bagging out on everyone who plays sports :P of course powman haha it's okay.
-
Oh man... fast food places hate me with passions. I'm that fussy eater that wants to take away 3 of the main ingredients, add some of my own, change the sauce, freshly cooked  I've had a lot of bad run ins, especially when they get it wrong 4 times in a row when I take it back. I do feel guilty though... regardless that they should keep up their reputation and have attention to detail, if I want a gourmet meal I should go to a fancy restaurant

*edit* I've decided to PM this information instead of making it public

Count yourself lucky and I hope it doesn't become addicting for you in the future. One to relax me is how it started off. Obviously it is addictive, there's no need for sources to even prove that point. There are better ways of relaxing too but that's your decision.

 wow are you a security guard/bouncer of some sort?

Aww I remember proms... I'm old -.- Are some of you going to post your pictures on the picture forum? That would be neat to see everyone dressed up.

Awesome stuff you've put a lot of effort in to this Laura. What is the argument you're putting forward? I'll have a quick read through them.

Google scholar would be better hun, that way you can tell people how they carried out the case study and how they came to the conclusion that they did. Key - bigger the sample size the better. If you could provide 10 of those, noob would be wrapped (Aussie slang for very happy). It was believed that the marijuana caused my anxiety to begin with but once introduced to my new medication, caused short term psychosis. They under analyzed the symptoms to bipolar disorder, which wasn't the case. So I was on medication for that for years as well which gave me OCD and various of other symptoms. It wasn't until I decided to seek advice about the possibility of post natal depression occurring after my pregnancy that they did further tests. Had a lovely psychiatrist with 40+ years experience have a chat to me, explained everything, took me off the bloody things and now I've never been more normal. I went through the whole phase of wanting to sue my old doctor for damages. He prescribed me Effexor XR under the age of 18 years which is illegal and didn't help. I went through with the suit and dropped out. I decided it wasn't worth it, moved on and just happy that I can have a normal life with my son :D

Laura - You probably already know this but just putting this out there if you're interested.. If you're up to reading some facts on a website I find it's a good idea to double check other references to make sure they match. If you read 10/10 studies all with very similar and reliable statistics, it's likely to be more factual but not always. Google scholar is great for checking these things, they have millions of case studies to prove and disprove research statistics. University databases are even better but not everybody has access to those kinds of journals. A good tip I found was to look at both angles (critically analyze something) before coming to a conclusion. It's not so bias then. That way if someone has an argument against what you're saying, you can later go back and point the study out and compare it to stronger cases. -- Bear - I had major anxiety and my doctor hadn't asked if I smoked weed. The prescriptions he gave me actually made my symptoms a lot worse and went misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder for 5 years. I'm now 22 only to find out, I can never practice licensed psychology unsupervised because of the previous diagnosis and I'm completely normal. I hope things are working out for you I'm just a tad concerned because of what it did for me. 5 years is a long time to find yourself again.

Uncle Lenin, I'm stealing you away for my poker partner
