  1. I'm trying to get an image loaded into an applet from a URL...any image will do for now, but I just can't get it to work. I think I'm supposed to use this: public Image getImage(URL url, String name) { try { return getImage(new URL(url, name); } catch (MalformedURLException e) { return null; } } but how? If you could show me an example of an applet which loads an image, it'd be awesome. thanks
  2. one tip for ya: Don't watch TV. Works wonders for me, all I ever watch is the news sometimes, though rarely. but I feel your pain, that Jamba hippo is a pain.
  3. Have fun with the girl, I wish you luck :) I dunno about you being portrayed as an a-hole, but I havent been around that much I suppose. nice drawing, it could turn into something good :) Keiphus, don't spam.
  4. she looks wierdly disproportional, very nice colours, however, and excellent nose and shadow. this one'es really good in as colours go, but the eyes and that part of her looks abit off. without reference?
  5. Silence of the lamb and Hannibal by Thomas Harris. Great movie and awesome books, if you don't mind the kinda nasty details :)
  6. I'd say search google for a gif-animator program, I think there's on called that for free on perhaps download.com otherwise maybe the registered version of GraphicsGale can be of help, perhaps the unregistered aswell, but it doesn't support *.gif so I don't know
  7. hehe, great idea, gotta be perfect modelling excersise. looks neat to me, but what do I know :)

  10. I don't know anything about it, but maybe you could try to do it from a different player? realplayer or the player I recommend for everything; VLC.
  11. awesome posture, you really nailed that one. her face lacks detail, but that's not the focus of the image. her arm looks kinda odd, is she wearing a sleeved white shirt and a slightly bluish T-shirt over it? if so, it's great :) if not, something is wrong there hehe. great job ttia

it doesn't cause it's uploaded as *.jpg. use *.gif or *.png instead.
  13. umm...I'm sorry, but game-maker is crap. maybe just use it to learn the basics of programming then step onto Java or VB as soon as possible. don't let the game-maker ruin you mind ;) VB is almost like game-maker and can be used without much previous knowledge through tutorials. now that I think of it Microsoft Visual Studio might not be free...I got it through school, but Java can be run more easily through notepad and DOS-Prompt. anyway, game-maker is good for making simple games, but nothing can beat programming and I strongly suggest you learn Java, or atleast VB instead.
  14. you should work a bit on the shading, you only really need 5-10 colours on these. but they are cool, the anatomy looks ok.
  15. I think you should add trees in the background, old gnarly trees would look really cool. use earty colours which don't steal the picture and maybe make the character and tree spirit even more colourful to stand out from the BG.
  16. Ban them right away, I say. no matter what sport it is, they cheating scum don't deserve a second chance, especially no matter who they are. Stars should be taken more seriously, they are who the kids look up to.

I locked this due to spamming and flaming. You're welcome to try and post your sig again, asking for crits, but if you can't take them and this happens again it will be locked again.

I forgot about Chrono Trigger >.< One of my fav for console. That, and KOTOR 1 (haven't played 2 yet) Also.. i don't know if i'd consider Zelda an RPG. its more of an adventure game i think. and am i one of the only people who hate the Final Fantasy series? Realy, i can't stand to play 'em :( FF is yucky :) I don't really know how to define an RPG, and I wasn't sure weather Zelda is ommonly considered one or not, but to me it is, not on par with PS:T as for roleplaying, but still a small bit of character development in every game...?

Planescape: Torment, we're talking Role Playing here, go beat this for role playing... Baldur's Gate I with expansion and Baldur's Gate II, awesome games. Zelda 64 and Chrono Trigger, those I finished...played many others with varying degrees of success...but those are forever classics.

There is a testing post. Read the stickies/announcements in the future.
  24. whoa, there were lines! didn't see them first. I always loved you sigs *takes his nose out of gsw's butt. hrrm... the text works really well, I think you chose a nice almost natural looking text to go with it, looks kinda like vines or something like that, like you put some thought about it instead of just slapping a cool looking text on it. gj. and those lines...man, my monitro must be low on contrast or something...even though I followed some monitor guide settings or something..ooh well, I like it :)

hrrhrr yea, I figured you did, not that it really matters, the atmosphere still has to be set, and the photos have to blend...and the atmosphere is definitely very well done, the images and the colours convey the meaning perfectly. I'm not really sure about the complete blending, though, the flower seems to have a slightly different...what shall I say...amount of fogginess, making it stand out, wihch is good in a way, since it's supposed to be the eye-catching part of the sig, but because of this it doesn't completely blend...just some (maybe obvious) input. what could've been really cool, was if the rose was alot smaller, and red, but the image would mean something completely different, then, but it'd look good. hehe, an idea aswell, I'm full of it today :D
