  1. It's semantics, something which seems to be overly argued because people don't completely understand one another.
  2. ... why? If you're white like snowstorm when you arrive at this desert area, why would your child, or his child, or the next, be born with darker skin? What mechanism makes that possible? As an fyi to that... It's theorized that black (or realistically a shade of deep brown) was the original skin color of the first humans. Whites/Asians/whatever were simply mutations. As a matter of fact, the "race gene" was discovered only a year or two ago, although it was kept on the down-low because they didn't want to stir up any controversy (don't want any race superiority fanatics coming out...). Now, I could theorize why white people look different physically than black people all day...perhaps the first white person mated with one black person and they were both exiled due to looking different, resulting in a cycle of in-breeding which inevitably produced its own, different features... An example of in-breeding producing a unique looking physique would be the aborigines in Australia. Why is it that fairer skinned people lived up north? Well, obviously if they don't have as much melanin, they don't deal well with the sun. If they were exposed to as much sun as those living in Africa, they wouldn't have thrived very well, and so northern climates were more desirable. I could go on and on coming up with ideas... Obviously in nature it does occur for some species to produce children without much melanin, for example, if you've ever seen white rabbits with red eyes. So it's possible that a variant of this produced white people as we know them today. Either way, whether you believe in parts or don't believe in evolution at all really, it IS the most probable, explainable theory that we have. It is practical and nearly all evidence that we have points to it happening or permits it to have happened. And also, some people are saying that billions of years isn't enough time for all this to have happened. I believe you haven't grasped what an incredibly huge timespan that is. All of recorded human history (the past 5,000ish years) has occured in .000001% of the earth's history. There is so much room! Personally, I'd imagine mircoevolution over a long timespan could produce what we see as macroevolution...just a thought.
  3. Hm...it's between two. The gun kata scene near the end of Equilibrium. OR When Laurinaitis goes on the solo killing spree viewed from his side in 300. (even though they don't fight back too well, haha)
  4. I've been doing slayer lately... While training I watch movies, and also some videos of college professors lecturing or teaching. Right now I'm learning about microelectronic circuits.
  5. And thus you have made the most valid point here, which also happens to be the reason that I stay out of these arguments anymore (although I apparently couldn't help myself this time...) Everyone here will claim the other side knows nothing because no one here is, in fact, a scientist or an "expert" on climate. This argument is largely pointless.
  6. Ah yes, the impartial, absolute source of fact and knowledge that's WikiI can't even finish typing this without laughing. Bubsa, I'm saying these people should at least read it. At the very, very least. Obviously if you want a truly good opinion you should look at more sources, but for a basic understanding which has only a slightly liberal bias, go look on wikipedia.
  7. *sigh* You guys keep saying "there's no evidence for global warming" or "there's so much evidence for it!", yet none of you bother to support your side. Please, for the sake of having an actual conversation, AT LEAST read wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming
  8. *ahem* Perhaps some cynicism is due, thanks to nin. I pushed the button and elected him to office He pushed the button and he dropped the bomb You pushed the button and could watch in on the television Those mother****ers didn't last too long I'm sick of hearing about the have and have nots Have some personal accountability The biggest problem with the way that we are doing things is The more we let you have the less that I'll be keeping for me Well I use to stand for something Well I'm on my hands and knees Turning in the god of this war and he signs his name with a capital G Don't give a [cabbage] about the temperature in Guatemala Don't really see what all the fuss is about Ain't gonna worry about no future generations And I'm sure somebody's gonna figure it out Don't try to tell me that some power can corrupt a person You hadn't had enough to know what its like Your only angry cause you wish you were in my position Now nod your head cause you know that I'm right..alright! Well I use to stand for something But forgot what that could be Theres a lot of me inside you Maybe your afraid to see Well I use to stand for something Well I'm on my hands and knees Turning in the god of this war and he signs his name with a capital G
  9. lol, isn't she like 12 or something? I think shes 13 but w/e she still sucks Lol.. But if you mean some one over 18.. I would have to say Probably Bruce Willis What???? She is one of the BEST actors/actresses I've ever seen. Just watch War of the Worlds and you'll see for yourself. I have hopes for her in the future as a great actress as well. As far as the worst actor goes...I wouldn't know their names to list them. :-k
  10. You should be a little more descriptive. ;) That's an official release from Trent Reznor (he basically is NIN) of the new album Year Zero. It's not even in stores yet, but he released it as a stream on the net anyway. The album will be released on the 17th I believe. If you don't like that music, let me tell you, do not judge the rest of his stuff by it. He has written so many different albums, all of which are unique. Pretty hate machine and the downward spiral appeal to most people, with the fragile appealing to another group of people. Anywho, I like the new album. It's different...and if you get involved in the whole viral campaign it's a very well done job. Edit: @Azvareth, yes it should be.
  11. Weird...oh what fun. 1. My philosophy on most things 2. My demeanor...it's nearly impossible to get me angry 3. my second toes (next to big toe) curve at about a 45 degree angle towards the outside 4. I can wiggle both ears, or one at a time. 5. I can move my eye lids inwards (no hands!) 6. I lift one eyebrow at a time, wink, etc 7. I prefer to have a few very good friends 8. I always feel my best when I'm home alone. The world is mine for the taking...music, games, building random things, the entire internet, and more 9. I noticed how annoying it became when everything I listed started with "I", so I'm stopping 10. I'm 18 and I've never been drunk, done drugs, or had sex...The first two because I wouldn't want to, the last because I haven't cared to (yet :))
  12. French by heritage, American by birth. However, the awesome thing about being American is that you can't tell what culture/heritage I have. :)
  13. Yeah dude...for information about that stuff go here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=588556 Your exp stats on akous are way off.
  14. I've been playing for about 5 years and I've never gotten a black mark. :) 0
  15. May I reference you here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=588556 Scroll to the bottom...I answered this question because so many people ask it. Scimitar wins by a long shot.
  16. It's not going downhill. As time passes, you grow up and realize that more people are dumber than you had thought. It's you maturing... the community isn't very much different.
  17. I don't get it. What is it trying to compare? It's sort of like "nothing moves because it only moves in halves, thus never reaching its final destination". However, it is disproven by the fact that .9999999(repeating) = 1, or in another form 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4 + 1/5 + 1/6(etc) = 1.
  18. Well...yes it is, if you play responsibly. I'm lvl 119 with 1,904 skill total and over 100 mil cash in my bank. In real life, I've got a 4.2 GPA, ranked 5th in my class, going into the honors program at Ohio State University next year (w00t), and I'm a rather happy person. :) I also run track after school 5 days a week and hang out with my friends a bunch on the weekends. Last weekend we made a flamethrower out of 91% solution of rubbing alcohol and a squirt gun, and then went inside and played a good old game of Acquire before finally going out to steak and shake where we ate and talked for probably over 2 hours straight until the wee hours of the morning...fun times. So yes, it can be done. Keep in mind I've also been playing on/off for about 5 years now. Whenever I get too busy with real life I stop playing runescape, but eventually I come back to it when things calm down and I have time. I hope that helps. :D
  19. I mentioned it was at the bloodvelds. :) And hmm...I suppose I could test out the D2H. Maybe not tonight, but I will do that after I buy one.
  20. I just finished an update! I added "6. Training Strength - Which Weapon Should I Use?! " because people are always arguing and wondering which weapon is the best way to train strength. Enjoy. :)
  21. Here's something most people don't realize. There is a way education works on the scale of censorship. Btw, I'm defining education as a way to measure wordly experience and ability to understand and deal with the world around the person. 1. Complete censorship, no education 2. Complete censorship, high education 3. High degree of censorship, little education 4. High degree of censorship, average education (high for some) 5. Some censorship, average education 6. Some censorship, high education 7. no censorship, no education 8. No censorship, high education Yes, I just made those up rather arbitrarily. Now... Choices 2 and 7 are impossible choices. (Practically speaking) 2 is paradoxical and the next would result in absolute chaos. Choice 1 works well, however, little growth is encouraged in most areas and anyone who gets by the censorship won't know how to deal with what was being censored in the first place. Basically, absolute hell could break out at times. This also leads to blind obedience. Choice 3 is similar to choice 1, although the effects on both sides are lessened. Choice 4 leads to some fundamentalism and tension within the society or towards other countries/cultures/etc. Development occurs, but not very quickly because of lack of growth (socially). This is present in several areas of the world. Choice 5 is comparable to many areas of the United States or western Europe. Progress occurs well enough because there is enough acceptance, although there is resistance. Choice 6 is a bit unique... There are not many areas of the world that have this except for perhaps a few areas within countries. Censorship here is almost exclusively imposed by governmental requirement, not by cultural ones. There is no need for "censorship" by the community because it can deal with or accept things normally censored in a mature way. Such undesirable things like strip clubs may be unwelcome, however, for community image or such, but not for overtly moral reasons. Choice 8 doesn't exist anywhere in the world beyond small groups of people. In this, there is no existence of anything that would require censorship because everyone would act maturely and responsibly, and could understand and appreciate nearly anything seen or experienced. There is no need for censorship, and progress is highest. Change is also constant whether for "good" or "bad", as seen by outside groups. I'm welcome to critiques. These are just some things I can see as possibilities... As a note on children, I acknowledge that censorship is probably needed to a degree. Having the child accidentally flip on a channel with extreme violence wouldn't go over well with the child immediately (emotionally, sociologically, and psychologically). However, gradual introduction is definitely the way to go.
  22. Very nice...however, I think that Andrew has become rather happy with it in most respects. After all, he even said himself that he's "just a programmer" who still enjoys working semi-behind the scenes on the game code itself. Oh yeah, and that plateau you were talking about seems to have been about 200,000 players. I remember when runescape was constantly adding new servers... it went from 10,000 and grew very quickly to its current number! Obviously it's more stable now. Nice points though. I would really like Jagex's feedback on that article. :)
  23. A lot of good all that schooling to become a doctor, teacher, businessman, politician, sportsman, actor, entertainer, and charity worker is going to do when your society dies in a generation. First off, homosexuals are by no means a majority of the population...which leads me to: There are already enough children in this world. Gay adoption my friend! There are so many kids in need of a good home... Also, homosexuals tend to improve the COMMUNITY around them. They often don't have kids (because of stigmas or the illegality of having them in certain places) and so they can focus more on the community. Just look at San Francisco or Columbus, Ohio (which is the only major city in Ohio where population grew...and it is a beautiful city, I've been there several times). Both have very large gay populations. The great thing about homosexuals is that while they don't reproduce, they help everyone else reproduce! They are sort of like the helpers, if you'd like to think of it that way. By making them a completely exclusive population you unfairly compared them to straight couples.
