  1. Well, it's really hard to screw up a pancake, so that's why given the choice at an unfamiliar restaurant I will always choose pancakes. However, french toast is my favorite when prepared the way that I'm used to. Just add syrup and a big ol' glass of cold, whole milk. :D
  2. Check out the SODB thread. While we don't always have an official DK event going on, we have members that go on their own DK trips several times a week. Check out our thread for more info.
  3. On the contrary, my friend. This looks more like preparation and maintenance to me. I'm pretty certain that hunter will be coming this week. :)
  4. Eh.. The closest I've come is to have the same dream split up into multiple days. For instance, I dreamed about this city over run by half life 2 zombies and the outpost where myself and about a few hundred other humans conducted operations to get out of this infested area. The funny thing is, I dreamed the first part one night, then I dreamed about the same thing again the next night and the storyline continued from where it left off! It was very interesting. It continued for a third night and then I stopped having it...oh well.
  5. 1) How many hours do you play a day? Depends...but right now that I'm not in cross country season, it's around 4 hours average per weekday and maybe 5 per day on the weekends. I've been playing much more lately mainly because I've had so little homework (senior year ftw!) and some of my friends are still running in the varsity races, so they're not around after school. 2) Are you addicted to games? Hmm... I would say no, because I have no problem going as long as I feel like it or as long as necessary without playing runescape or anything. And I don't think about it all day as I've heard that some people do. Like I said, the only reason I'm playing so much lately is due to lack of other things to do. Once track starts my time will be reduced to about 2 hours a day, if that. 3) Do you have after school activities Oh yeah. Cross country, track, spanish club, key club, national honors society, science olympiad, technology club, and SAVE. All of which are semi-active. I actually helped to found our school's technology club my freshmen year along with two of my friends. Now we're about 20 people strong and growing each year. :)
  6. Personally I love being home alone. Also, just use some logic...that helps me. For instance: Why would anyone target me in particular? No one would. Why would someone come inside MY House? No one, there is a much nicer neighborhood just a few streets over. What's that little noise? The house settling, the heater, my cats walking on the carpet, my cats at the litter box, my cats spilling something, the water heater acting up, the computer waking up, etc. There are tons of little noises. What was that shadow outside? Now THAT is worth taking a small look at, but if it wasn't extremely long, then you're probably fine. If you really want, lock all the doors. Then there is NO WAY that anyone could get in your house without making a lot of noise which you would certainly hear. (or at least this should be the case depending on your house) It's all in your head man. You'll learn in time though. :)
  7. The problem is that the thread turns into a bunch of people saying "yeah, anything's fine...w/e". And that hardly leads to discussion... Tbh I usually end up refuting extremist statements the whole time. It's rare that I put forth a new point.
  8. Hmm... You wanna know what reality is? Well then, I present to you the hero of runescape, the king of Azeroth, the leader of legions! Image by Pyxelated on deviantart.

    can you type?

I guess you can use those programs at first... But to be honest, when I was learning in school, I could never type faster than about 50 words per minute. Once I stopped the classes and started typing a home at lot in normal IM conversation and posting on forums, I got a lot faster. Currently I can type between 95-105 words per minute on average, and I can type even faster if I'm typing my thoughts like I am now. So the lesson here is learn on your own. :)
  10. Wanna hear my philosophy? I go to school, do as well as I can there, and all that good jazz. During track or cross country season I'll run after school with the team before coming home, or if it's not season I'll just come straight home. I immediately plop down at my kitchen table and finish all of my homework right there and then. I take anything I need to study with me to a quiet part of my house and take my time studying with my materials. THEN....and ONLY then....do I allow myself free time. Furthermore, if I have the opportunity to do something with my friends, I'll do that before anything on the computer. If we can't, then I'll sit down here and check the news, see what's going on in the technology world, visit tip.it...and finally log onto runescape. That's always worked well for me. I treat runescape as what it should be, a game that is played in one's free time. HOW you get off your runescape addiction is very important, so I hope that helped. :)
  11. Most people don't include the writing section since most colleges don't care about it yet. Thus most kids still report their scores out of 1600. The writing section, at the moment, is only for placement within a group (usually).
  12. The cat was solid as a block because it was in rigor mortis, meaning that "Assuming mild temperatures, rigor usually sets in about 3-4 hours after clinical death, with full rigor being in effect at about 12 hours, and eventually subsiding to relaxation at about 36 hours" Poor thing... Anywho, I'd go tell them if I were you. Even if it is their cat, it's much better to know that the pet died than wondering if it is lost forever. I just wonder how the heck the cat died there...rather odd.
  13. "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering." - Yoda To be perfectly honest, everything is possibly pointless. The fact that I said possibly is the very reason that people are able to belittle some actions over others, sadly. Oh well. Nihilism ftw...
  14. So you guys know, it would be stupid for google to NOT have bought youtube. They paid what...1.6 billion for it? Well, the first day of stock trading after that, their stocks went up by about 5%...basically, they gained 6 billion in stock value. It was a no-brainer for google. Not to mention they only traded 1.6 billion in stocks, not cash. Youtube should still be the same as we've been used to (mostly). They're going to keep the youtube people on the job as a semi-separate entity, just under google ownership.
  15. Taken from the forum: Rickyc12s 11-Oct-2006 11:42:23 Is there genna be another update say in 5mins or so, something to do with the game. it's be like almost 2 weeks since update. and wasn't exactly the update u'd expect after 2 weeks. Mod Ash Jagex Mod 11-Oct-2006 11:43:12 Not unless we discover a nasty bug suddenly. But I don't expect that. ALSO...part of the reason that they haven't updated the other stuff yet: Mod Ash Jagex Mod 11-Oct-2006 11:45:36 Well, we also fixed a few nasty bugs, including the one where people randomly couldn't open doors even though other players might see them as being open. That really needed fixing even if it doesn't get as much appreciation as a new game feature. Quick find code: 15-16-190-32378990
  16. Ahhh all the buttons in the rs forum have changed graphics... They're...well...sort of annoying. However, people, I wouldn't give your hopes up. There's plenty of content coming...just a matter of having enough patience to wait for it to come. :)
  17. I've done quite a bit of study and from that and my own life experiences I have found more reason to believe in a God than to not believe in Him. Really, barihawk? I've learned a lot myself, and I have found more reason to not believe in God than to believe in him/her/it. I've also thought for myself quite a bit... Life would be so easy if I believed in religion as much as some people do. Hell, even if I had as much faith as much as some people do.
  18. You'll get much more origional posts if you only allow the wish to affect yourself. Obviously, if I could wish anything...it would be...world peace. Just kidding. :) I'd love to have a bubble. This bubble would be able to hold me and whoever I want, and we could go explore the entire universe. Lightyears are nothing. Distance and time are nothing. I'd just love to see the universe...and perhaps share the moment with someone else.
  19. The way I've always seen it: Would you rather hit a 30 or two 26's? Attack > Strength...IMO.
  20. God help us. Amen. *oh the irony! :)* viktorkrum, just because we aren't able to understand something doesn't mean that it is supernatural. We simply don't know... However, that is the reason that we hypothesize! We make theories! It's merely an attempt to understand. And so far, this is probably the best logical *ehem* explanation we have (the big bang, that is).
  21. I know you mean well runesmithie, but by that logic, we'd still be way back in the 1800's. I mean hell, why would something so small that we can't see it ever matter? How could that possibly do anything for us? It's so small! Surely we can keep on living our lives fully without caring about trivial stuff such as that! And boom, all of chemistry and basically all of modern technology goes down the tube. It's part of knowledge and learning. Knowing/Learning about our universe is probably the only concrete reason for living that I know of.
  22. Any (republic/democratic) government is a trade off between the people's rights and their safety. It's part of living in any nation. Anarchy is very dangerous, so people give up certain freedoms in order to live a more secure life. Personally, I think that the US has a pretty good balance, mainly thanks to federalism. I know some of you would disagree, but for daily life, I've got plenty of liberty. Although I can say that I wouldn't want to give up much more of my freedom for more security, even if I had the option.
  23. LOL That's a fantastic comment. Although I can't quite see how fox news fits in with everything you said...
  24. BIG time! The moment I saw this, I was happy. But then I immediately thought that this would also provide extra motivation for staying on rs even longer...trying to get that level 99 skill... Oh well, I'm still happy. I just hope the fire cape still looks good (and IS good) in comparison to all these capes that are coming out.
