  1. thats not what i was really looking for. WHAT are they making? HOW are they able to sustain a profit? are all of them members? how are they making a profit? (i pretty sure if you are dropping 5m or more at a time, you would be trying to at least break even). those are the kind of questions i need answered. not things i already know. but thanks anyway.
  2. Okay, i know that i am able to smith mith bars, and sell for 1k ea. this isnt that hard. i either buy the coal, the mith, or mine both and smelt. well i see these people buy the bars for 1k and think to myself "how are they going to make a profit from this?". this whole game is about profit, if there are people buying 2-5k mith bars for 1k ea, there has to be a reason. people wouldnt just blow 2-5m in one sitting to get some xp that they can easily get from steel bars WITH profit. so, does anyone know the secret to the mith bars? why are they so popular? why are people willing to dish out 5m in one sitting for these items?
  3. the desert treasure quest is required. a very hard quest at that. you cant weild it until then. and i think you get a free one when you complete it.. so dont buy it.
  4. people will sell your the mage robes for about 750k. they come from the new revised treasure trails. along with new hats, kits shields, and other items.
  5. i am currently f2p, and havent had p2p for about 5 months. i still have about 8-10 member items in my bank. your "friend" is lieing. he just wants to take your stuff. do NOT believe him. nothing will ever be deleted out of your account on purpose.
  6. trade 27 laws and 27 noted essence to the runners. (or trade for equal ammounts that they trade you. usually its 27 though)
  7. no doubt. now all the levels that matter to me are spaced days, if not weeks apart.
  8. best way is to buy the essence (not pure since you are going to be making airs. just the regular stuff. worth about 25-30 gp ea now from the update), and just run from fally bank down to the air alter, craft, and run back. you make more airs then you would fires.
  9. ok, if you have blue dhide, mage bow, and rune arrows, use those. if you range him, he will mage you, which will splash off of you (most of the time). he uses spells up to fire wave, so he might hit high a few times. just make sure you have sharks or better and tele runes.
  10. like i said, range it. he shoots magic or hits insanely high if you try to mele him. range is the only way. (only easy way). and like i said before, full inv of sharks, best arrows, best bow, best dragonhide armour, and tele runes just incase. (no ringe or necklaces, you need the auctual runes, or else he will just keep canceling your teleport options on the ring or necklace)
  11. ice giants and ice warriors are amazing. i am training on them right now. they have good rune drops, and the giants drop bones. they dont hit above 8. their defense is in the middle though, so stick with something else before you attempt them, or else you wil be getting foor every 5 minutes.
  12. i cant help you with geting another sigil, but i can help you for the fighting. the best thing to do is wear the best ranging armour you can, get the best bow you can, and get the best arrows you can. bring sharks, and you might want to check if you can, but bring prayer pots to pray (not sure if you can pray)
  13. usually you want a base attack and strength level to get you started so you dont have to hit constant 1's while training defense. about lvl 20 in both is ok. after you get lvl 20 attack and strength, train defense as much as you want. usually 70-80 is a good level to stop at. then get your attack and strength up just a bit more, up to about 50ish for each. this is sometimes used for stakers. also, you can make a tank (i think thats what they are called). this is when you get your prayer up to 43 (or 52 dependsing if you are going to stay f2p or go p2p with it). in the end, you would probebly benefit with stats that look like this for your def pure. att:50(60 if you get members and want dragon weapons) str:50 def:70-80 prayer:43-52 hp: (whatever you get when training) now, you could also benefit from high mage and range, but those stats above are the basic staker/tank stats (or so i have been told before. someone make sure i got those right?)
  14. currently 81 woodcutting, so i kind of have a compulsion to finish that up, since i dont have any other skill equal or above 80. i think 80 woodcutting owuld bring me a lot of cash as well. i just need about 12k mroe willows, which gets me to 83 woodcutting. then i can cut yews/magics (if i have members) for $. (the willows are for lvl 70 fletching when i get around to buying members again)
  15. ugh. im training too much right now. i need to pick something and stick to it. currently training combat (mainly defense), woodcutting (just got lvl 81), crafting bits by bits, mining, and smithing. im also merchanting, trying to get as much money as i can for members. so much work....
  16. ew... no. have you noticed a big supply of the yew fletching economy is from f2p? not only fletching, but merchanting too. f2p has been forced to lower prices, which makes merchanters come to our worlds to buy them for cheap. causing yews cut on f2p only burnable would make the demand of the yews go down and the supply to go up, thus causing a big price decrease. the only people who would buy them are the people who would burn them for easy xp in an easy skill. i say nay.
  17. oooorrrrrrrr, instead of going down into a dangerous place which requires a closed light source, lots of food for lower levels, and spiney helmets (not really required, but help a lot), why dont we just use a magic lamp? better yet, instead of waiting for a lamp, why dont we just cut 1 lot into a bow? why dont we attack a rat? why dont we alch something? why not range something? why not craft 1 more black dragon hide body? im sorry, but going all the way to tears of guthix is a really bad idea for a party.
  18. If anyone has read the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" they will know exactly why. basically the story is about a guy who is shipwrecked, gets on a inhabited island,a nd finds that the owner of the island has so much bloodlust, that he has killed at least 1 of every animal, and doesnt find it appealing because of the fact he think animals dont have intelligence, rationality, etc. put this in prospective to npc's. if you get a firegiant behind a table, and range it, does it walk around the table to try and attack you? no! it sits there and takes a beating. now, if you were in the wild, and was rangind from be hind a fence, would the other guy run around the fench to attack you? Yes! they would make every attempt to try and kill you. back to the story, the owner of the island has set up an island, which luers people, sinks their ship, and he is able to hunt the humans due to the intelligence and rationality they have. the humans are able to make an intelligent choice whether to take the left or right path in the fork in the road. basically, humans want to fight something that has the same rational thinking skills as themselves.... you know, or they just want an easy way to make some fast $.
  19. full zombie with yingyang. gah i love it. its amazing for woodcutting, runecrafting, merchanting, or anything non-combat since it doesnt have any weight. the only thing is that on rcing i take off my zombie head, put on my tiara, and i have green hair, so its all good. posting a pic later. [EDIT] new pic. Yup, I'm F2P, so i dont get any cool outfits, but i love my zombie.
  20. i've been training on lessers for such a long time, that with my skills at their levels, i can pretty much set a mental clock for when they die and i need to pick up my drop *checks rs for kill... 60 fire runes. attack another lesser. i dont think its the fact that people browse forums, i think its for people who set up marcos or something like that. *checks rs for kill...120 coins. attack another lesser. as i've shown, its easy to afk, and i know everyone does it. its just the fact that people set up autoers to go afk for them. i dont think getting a glass of water is a big deal. i dont think doing a few math problems is a big deal. its just the fact that people will cheat with autoers if this rule (and the help from the "no marco" rule) is not in use. *checks rs for kill... pfft, 10 coins. attack another lesser -imaerehw14
  21. darn... real life lessons stink, eh? the lower class family that stuggles to make payments makes lets say... 20k a year. they pay 30% taxes. they pay about 6k in taxes. The family that lives in the rich part of town makes about 150k a year. they pay about $45k in taxes. life sucks. sorry if you dont realize it, but you will have to pay taxes sooner or later. Oh, and in response to the guy who has 2.1gp cap. dont you think he can make that money back pretty fast? i mean.. he does have 2.1b in his bank now. it took him a max of 5 years to make it. im sure, he would be able to get his $ back pretty fast. cons of this idea- *people are retired with millions in bank. what would they do? *people buy rares to avoid having to pay taxes on $ in bank, how would jagex confront that? *would jagex just decided to delete 5% of your $ per year? or would you have to fill out a form at the new tax center in varrock? *people would stop buying members because who would want to pay to get taxed on what they make? its a game, leave it be.
  22. its getting pretty hard on f2p now.. all the runes, $, tiaras, essence, wood, armour items, and now full zombie has me down to 4 spaces, and thats if i keep on my full zombie outfit. amazing guide, i was going to make one, but i thought it was going to be too hard
  23. looks like my idea of getting members by next month just flushed down the drain. i am definatly not going to get members until this settles down, because one of my main goals was crafting and selling nats, or crafting and fletching yew long bows. has anyone checked up on the yew prices lately? could this possible effect the alchers that fletch the yews and bowstrings, then alch?
  24. im going straight to my main point with out reading everyone's post. (i read yours, just not the 3 pages of responses. this idea may have already come up) a normal game rent from Blockbuster is $7.99. lets round that up to $8. your rent lasts a WEEK. (yes, technically you can keep it for 29 days without being penelized due to their new policy, but they expect it to come back in a week.) now compare $8 a week to $5 a month. hmm. thats $1.25 a week. i must say, that is a big difference. now, i side with you on that if i just bought a game such as guild wars, that i would only have to pay the 1 fee. but the only game like that is guild wars, which i found out takes a high end type of graphic card (which i dont have) and i cant play it. you may have it, but i dont, and some people may not have it, so i think playing runescape on members is just fine.
  25. its really easy, you just need to obtain the RIGHT materials. no, not rune essence, tiaras and talismans :) thats right, you can make 1,484 body tiaras to get to level 44, or you can make 11,130 air runes to get to level 44. it just takes time. And yes, you can make body tiaras starting at level 1. you can even use the lowest possible xp (air tiaras) and still only do 2,226 tairas to get to level 44. the only problem is getting 1484 body talismans (or the number of talismans for the type you are making). also, you can craft tiaras for your self, but thats a bit of ore you have to mine/buy. you can do it, it would probebly just take the time of rcing air runes to prep.
