  1. FRIENDSLIST Capacity: 100 people Experience in PvP-issues: Almost non-existant, save for a few PK-ers Activity: Almost always full, so there WILL be ~100 purple dots at the camp, who are on your side. Attitude: Every man for himself. Noone is going to save you if you get PK-ed, let alone when you get a Wand of Treachery. Best descriptiion: Herd animals, traveling in packs to blend in with the crowd, safety in numbers. CLAN Capacity: 500 people Experience in PvP-issues: While on average they don't do this for a living on EoC, the knowledge and experience can be taught to newcomers. Activity: Depends on timezones and current total members. But words of success quickly spread to attract others. Attitude: If one man in the Clan benefits, the Clan as a whole will benefit. People will stop looting to get PK-ers off your tail. Best description: Soldiers in war, capable of heroics (as far as you can go to call it that) even if it means sacrificing themselves.

  5. [hide] [/hide] If people didn't fear the Wilderness, then there wouldn't be any calls for removing the dangerous parts of it... You have to remember, the person that goes after these Warbands' XP loots is the same type of person who would (back in the day, anyways) use the Abyss to do some Runecrafting... And the ones who would Abyss-pk are the same ones who now go after the ones wearing nothing or just welfare gear while looting these camps... And sadly, the person complaining that he lost his Glory, is the same person that now complains he didded sum expee-waistun cuz he dun got killed... This isn't economics... Not for that PK-er anyways... This is the thrill of a kill, and also the thrill of surviving an attack... If there is some numpty willing to kill "innocent" skillers (no such thing as innocence in the Wilderness) for their 4000GP per looted crate (but it's more for the kill than the loot), there will always be some self-righteous person willing to take up that shield and harass the harasser... And even so; for you to fully partake in all possible benefits of the Warcamps, you need more than just luck to not get killed; you're gonna want to help disrupt a beam, and summon in some allies and kill that boss... This requires at least SOME gear and equipment to be brought... It won't completely revive the Wilderness, but grudges run deep... So this is what is known as a good start...
  6. Absolutely and COMPLETELY wrong, Urza285... If gear-loss in The Wilderness is something that needed to go, then Jagex would've at least kept the keep-three-items-when-not-skulled thing going... ALL of the EoC sweats, bleeds and oozes one main message, and it is one that the simpler player has escaped from to 07 servers... And that message is this: Think not once, not twice, but THRICE about what you are going to wear in combat before setting off to plunge yourself into the fray... There is no best set-up anymore, only a lot of really good ones... Is this another ploy to get people into clans for whenever multi combat happens? Maybe. I don't see it as a bad thing, because it would  *SHOCK* force people to interact with one another in this game again... It's also what I hinted at in my previous post ^^^^ There is a PROPER combat triangle now, so it's impossible to be prepared for ALL situations... The good news is that your opponent has the exact same hindrances... With the next batch of EoC tweaks (levels being more meaningful, so a lvl 200 with a whip is once again significantly better than a lvl 90 with a whip) we'll also see that not just bank and amount of friends matter, but time invested as well... If you don't like possibly losing everything you own in The Wilderness, don't take anything, find some friends to protect you, or simply don't go in it at all...
  7. Ok, time for a proper reply... You all know me, this is going to be a long one, so I hope it's of my usual quality and worth your time to read it... So... The Wilderness... I think it's safe to say that this is the first PROPER update to it since ... well... ever, really... The removal of it cannot hardly be called an update, and the odd Bloodwood tree isn't exactly a great lure to get people in the Wilderness either... This however, can be the one thing that revives the entire area... Why? Well, let's find out Is it in The Wilderness? check! Does it attract people to it? check! Do they have to go in with more than the bare minimum? check! Will people get something out of it by participating? check! So it has all the elements of reviving what is known in the clanworld as the "Food chain of The Wilderness"... A concept that explains why Clans were in The Wilderness in the first place. The lonely skiller is attacked for his loot by a lonely PK-er. The lonely PK-er might get jumped by a small team for his equipment. The small team will be chased by a large team, who then gets eaten by a clan, who in turn get cleared by a large clan. The small clan calls in its allies who soon face the allies of the other clan, and before you know it, a giant cluster-fight is underway, trying to break one anothers bank... Prices go up, supplies are needed, the economy thrives, and skillers might actually make some money once again... Unfortunately, Jagex released 07-servers, and almost any clan that was still left alive moved over to those servers because of their general disgust for the complexities of EoC combat... But the crowds at the Warbands suggest that not everyone has moved backwards in time... The crowd these Camps attract makes them dangerous to be at, especially on your own with noone to cover your back, and with very little training and experience in dealing with PvP situations, you're quickly left clueless and, due to the new realities of EoC, itemless... Even the Clanwars portals cannot prepare you for this... The instant teleblock and switch to Multiway combat compounds this (and might be why Jagex tossed in that Toggle in the first place)... So what do you do? Join one of these FC's filled with opportunists who do nothing but look out for their own interest, and people that hope that they can hide in the crowd of large numbers? This isn't a Penguin Hunting FC, where reporting where you last saw a pengy is all the effort required, if that... These people will kill you and take that Wand of Treachery off of you given the slightest opportunity (the name is a dead give-away)... So this IS the real deal... If you get killed, you lose what you got save one item, if you're lucky... What you need is a community of capable friends and allies. People that know how to work in an organised fashion, and are willing to stop with their own looting and Barrage whoever is trying to kill you when you're escaping with that Wand or some of those XP-heavy Supplies... And who can depend on you to do the same for them... As said, there is very little Honor left in the Wilderness... But unless you find yourself a group that is willing to fight along side of you for JUST THAT, all you are going to be is a single person complaining, which can easily be ignored...
  8. Fun little minigame... My new clan will enjoy this :D
  9. The Silent Guardians (1750+) Hello and welcome! Thank you for checking us out. I assume you are here because, like us, you too are looking for some people that want to participate in group events such as Dungeoneering and Bossing. This is normally where I would recommend you to look no further, but please do. I'm pretty confident that you're going to come back to this page to give The Silent Guardians another look anyways, and this way you'll KNOW that you're making the right choice. Why? Well, let's list what we have to offer... It might sound ridiculous, but how about Free money? Free XP? Free Dungeoneering tokens? It's true though. All it takes is for you to participate in our events. Think along the lines of Stealing Creations, Barbarian Assault, hunting for the rarer drops from Bossmonsters, or chilling in the Citadel (on its way to Tier 5, where we will aquire a Summoning and Crafting plot). With a bit of luck, you'll soon have everything you ever wanted to buy and more. We're also ready to accept you to be part of one of the oldest communities of RuneScape. Sure it's got its scars, but like our members once said: "It has a lot of history, but it also has a lot of history." We also offer you protection. By that we mean that you can always ask someone to accompany you to the Wilderness and cover your back while you do what you need to do, such as hunting for Penguins or defeating and looting a Warband. And it'll be a tough job to NOT find a partner for whatever Bossmonster you want to defeat, minigame you want to play, or Dungeon you wish to explore. Social Slayer partners, a Trawler crew, or a Brewing buddy, they're all gathering up for you! We do require a few things from you in return. One of those is a total level of 1750 or higher. We set this so we know that the people joining us have some knowledge of RuneScape, as well as have a relatively rounded character. Also, once applied and accepted, we'll need to gauge your activity. To this end we will first need you to attend 5 events over a 30-day period. After that you can graduate up to full member, and the requirements will drop down to an average of just event a week. Mind you, this WHOLE time you can enjoy our clan to the fullest by being simply in the ClanChat! There are also some technical options. Idling on IRC, having Teamspeak available, and being forum active are all part of what it means to be a true Silent Guardian. We have these in order to make our events run all the better, and organize our trips properly, but they aren't necessary for you to have right off the bat. Beyond the requirements, there are a few things that are expected of every member. Treating one another with respect should be a given. Putting in your best efforts to not only better yourself, but the clan as a whole also goes without saying. And OBVIOUSLY we want you to have fun. And to that end we hope to soon see people organize their own events, rise through the ranks, and perhaps even bring in new members themselves. As the saying goes; "A friend of a friend is my friend." Well, it's a little bit different, but if you feel you can't leave your buddies in a different clan, me and my people are more than happy to come meet up with you guys and talk you through everything you all need to know about the Silent Guardians. And if that doesn't convince you or them, we'd like to know why... Because that means we're doing something wrong! Our information: In-game Clanchat: Wilderness Guardians IRC chat: #wg_lobby on Swiftkit's IRC Website: http://www.wildernessguardians.com/ -> [Non-PvP clan] People you can contact: Well ME of course! Post in this thread or PM me over these forums, or even find me in RuneScape itself! I'm Eventsmaster in all of the Wilderness Community, and am the second in command of the Silent Guardians ONLY to our leaders. Other people you can contact in game: Bassism - the leader of this clan. Mojohaza1 - the hardest working person you'll ever find. Rachellove9 - the friendliest person that any clan can grace. Something else that you should know: The Silent Guardians are a new arm of the Wilderness Guardians... It is active on the RS3 servers, but nothing prevents you to join our exploits on the 07 servers as well... It is both there and here that we uphold the highest honor in our Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement of any clan, and it is the same one we've upheld for all 9 years of our existence since it started as a clan to protect people from PK-ers in the first place... Here's the recruitment video (which directs to many more videos, should you opt to view them) for you to enjoy!
  10. Nay... The high druid in Guthix's shrine (where his body is) allows you to go all nostalgic and watch the movie again :) I do believe the stack of essence now recharges your prayer and summoning points...
  11. So what do you propose we do about getting to that 250k?
  12. Obviously someone missed the point of the Wilderness...
  13. See: Ending cutscene in Ritual of the Mahjarrat Got a link?
  14. 'm shocked at how many people don't even mentio the Wildy zone toggle...
  15. I think both games are deserving of the title "RuneScape", so when referencing the entire community or both games I am calling it that... However, when adressing one specific game/type of server, I will call it 07scape and EoCscape... Even if it's just to avoid confusion... Couple of things: EoC people voting to ruin 07scape (I'm guessing this means voting for things like Godwars Dungeon, and against F2P-based servers) is complete nonsense... If someone is willing to go on 07scape and level 100 levels just in order to be able to vote for the things noone wants, and against the things everyone wants JUST out of spite then that person needs their head checked very thoroughly... Especially if this is done in any significant numbers... Second, if you think that EoCscape treats you as if you're 6, then 07scape treats you as if you're 10... Honestly, if this deters you from a game, then I suggest looking for a different game altogether... 3rd, I said the EoC GAME was unaffected... Clans have been hit, and you wouldn't believe how many have closed in the years from 2008 and 2012... I can completely understand the resentment from the ones who quit in those years towards those who defend the EoC game because they like it... I can also completely understand that those who stuck with RuneScape against all odds who are now getting berated for exactly that by people returning to play 07scape, will want to do something about that... But this is all just emotion. Fact is; over 100k people are on average logged in simultaneously playing the game they love, whatever game it is...
  16. Two things, and two things only: 1: Remove the Wilderness Toggle and bring back the zones. 2: Levels should have a far greater impact on combat. Aka, lvl 99 att/str should hit a helluva lot harder AND more often with a whip, than a lvl 70 attack/ 1 strength person does... This would also go for Magic levels and the dmg your spells and abilities do, as well as Range dmg and accuracy being improved with a higher level... Also Defense should do more for overall (all three styles) armor rating...
  17. So Gielenor is the perfect world... According to... Jagex?
  18. Considering the signature of this "100" person, I'd say he still has some unresolved issues, dating back from December 07 ;) Obviously this person has only very recently returned to RS (whichever version) and decided to hate on everything he doesn't like, including those people who acxtually enjoy it :) "To understand the troll is to ignore the troll..."
  19. All this 07 people vs EoC people... "Rune"Scape isn't even part of my vocabulary anymore... It's all EoCscape and 07scape... No one game is particularly better; each has it's perks and every player feels more in tune with one set of perks than with the other... This is quickly starting to resemble some stupid TV show where everyone at home sides up with competing contestants, texting in their preference, and even though they have absolutely no stake in the outcome, they'll defend their established opinion to the death against those on the other side... If you don't like EoC, go play 07, and vice versa... And if you must, even after you've been given a game you actually love, still hate on the other game, I have but one piece of advice for you: Don't hate the player... Hate the game... Literally...
  20. 07scape.... LITERALLY been there... LITERALLY done that...
  21. I suppose it would be a bit daft to make ALL those quests a requirement for TWW, and then make TWW a requirement for all the future quests to come... I can hear the roars of complaints already... Then again, I think Jagex doesn't trust its players to be smart enough to do the quests in order of release... And this is why you get this weak-ass midway solution of a warning that will prolly say "You oughtta have done TWW before you embark on this quest." It's Jagex' way of catering a little bit to everyone... While they should instead cateer to one portion of the players at one pointm and cater to another portion of the players at another point... Btw; how bot infested is RS now with Software modus gone?
  22. Tips for the one that leeches your life? I cant seem to break the connection...
