I GOT INTO HARVARD
I don't believe that Harvard does not care about your grades, nor do I believe it only takes a "decent" ACT score. What was his GPA and what was his ACT score? I don't see how that is relevant to my post. I know Cyan's scores, I was the one who asked for them. I quoted ddun who I'm pretty sure is not Cyan. Maybe you have trouble reading? ... damnit.

So...News Years 2006
What's so special about training your skills as shinobi? It's the same thing every day ... ahh...that you are wrong. playing and drinking will get you no where. you must always be on your senses, expecting the worst situation from every second you live. BAM, one second you could be dead. How to prevent that? Easy. train. Train until you know that walking outside the door will probably get you killed. Train until you know that hiding inside your house will make you an idle target for missiles. Train until you know how to avoid both dangers at once. Btw santa might just give me a present, or he will be me present as my moving target for shuriken practice. I hope he runs fast since he is probably in shape from climbing in and out of those roofs. Merry christmas and an early new years! That wasn't my point. Of course you can die no matter what. Spending your life training and pushing yourself won't mean you'll dodge a sniper shell, nor will it allow you to divert a bus that is about to crash and kill you. My point is that it's hypocritical of you to complain about new years celebrations, and state it's the same thing every day, when your life is one tremendous routine.

lol, nah thats alright if u really dont wanna go anywhere. just watch out for cj's (cjhldevil) comments on that. he suggested someone commit suicide if they have nothin better to do then play rs on new years. I'm not really a party person; I don't drink or smoke or anything. I would probably spend it with my best friend, but her parents would be all uptight about us staying up late together. If it makes him feel any better I'll play Rise of Nations instead.

Christmas huh
I remember like, four years ago, I got up at 5AM on Christmas day and played Mario 64 for like four hours. Today I just woke up multiple times in the morning, after 5, but I stayed in bed until about 9:30. The spark has just completely gone. It's just another day where I have a couple of extra priorities. I'm truly sick of it. What's really bad is that my brother had to work last night, sleep over at the hotel he works at and comes home on Christmas at 4PM. Pretty sucky.

Those Amazingly Vivid Dreams
I remember a few dreams ... like one dream I had twice, when I was about 5 or 6, in which I was on my bed and awake, and all my toys came alive and were about to attack me. It was quite scary because I had these two T-Rex toys ... Last night I had a dream that had some relation to Donnie Darko. I was picking up clues that the characters in the movie had left behind, and then I was suddenly with these really thick-headed people I used to be friends with at school (two of them got expelled). It's interesting, because yesterday I was thinking about them. Anyway, suddenly these three guys, who were like stereotypical macho jocks, came near us, and one of the people I was with kicked a ball at them. I told them to log out, but they refused to (a lot of my dreams end up incorporating games), so we just stayed there, and then we were fighting these people - except they were huge robots, and I was controlling myself with the usual gamepad. I think I ended up beating a few of them but then I woke up. Two really, REALLY strange things I used to have in my dreams: Whenever I was having a bad dream, I had a way of escaping. I'd move my hand to where the escape button would be, press down 5 times, press enter and press Y. It was the exact sequence when exitting from DOOM 2. I had that for years where I'd escape dreams by doing that. Another one, was about a year or two ago; I used to begin making the sign of the cross in a dream, but then I'd stop, and I'd be out of the dream. My brother suggested that, since that was the time when I was losing my faith, I'd be halfway through escaping through a divine route, but then I'd realise "hey, I don't need this" and I'd escape of my own accord. Weird.

Christmas huh
Ugh ... Christmas in officially 33 minutes. I really don't like it. My family gets stressed and pressured, I get bored and depressed, there's nobody to talk to online, few things to do out of the ordinary ... it's just weeks, sometimes months of preperation, for one huge day that celebrates something I don't believe in anymore. I mean, yeah, seeing my extended family and receiving presents is always good, but a lot of the time it just sucks. The spark has completely gone. I'm not even excited. If I could I'd sleep in until 12 or even later, but I have to have lunch with my grandparents. I really wish everyone could just boycott Christmas for one year. It'd make everything so much less stressful, and so much more smooth-flowing. Merry mass consumerism day.

Those Amazingly Vivid Dreams
I think maybe when it feels so real, it could be because you're partially awake. I have many dreams where I'm falling, drowning, flying or whatever, and it feels so real; but I'm not quite asleep when I have them. Often, when I wake up, I still feel half of that sense - falling in particular, and I tend to kick the bed with my achille's heel as an immediate reaction.

Over 18000 WoW Accounts Cancelled
Coming from someone who openly admitted to AFK training ... And keep in mind that although Jagex loses that money, they still get the cash from sales. 18k * $40 = 620k. Granted, it's not as much, but it's something. And the application of strict policies such as this has the potential to encourage and entice more gamers to join. I wouldn't be surprised if, eventually, it will be possible for companies to take legal action against cheaters in online games. I mean, it breeches the agreements, and the RIAA sues about 700 people every month (not that that justifies it of course because the RIAA are a bunch of morons, but you get my point). But anyway, good on Blizzard.

xxxxx of the dead
In that situation, I'd probably keep weapons handy, but I doubt I'd be bold enough to leave the house, even if it was necessary. Regarding errors ... I don't remember the movie very well. Although I do intend to hire it out at some stage. I remember a few scenes, like, the zombie priest and the hall of bodies there, then the apartment in the multistory complex, and the house in what looked like the Hamptons, and the infected black guy who they'd managed to tie up, and the father of the girl getting infected through his eye or something? I dunno, sorry.

Looking for music suggestions....
Then I'd definitely suggest some New Order. They're synth-pop/indie-rock/post-punk/dance. Try Bizzare Love Triangle, Round & Round, Shellshock and Subculture. Likewise. :P I didn't know you were into New Order?

If youn were going to die....
So, according to your and 2 pages worth of thread's logic, if I'm going to die, I should make sure I ruin as many other people's lives as I can before I do? Nice one, mate. Oh sorry, by 'mate'; I mean 'Hitler'. ok look at my post what i was gonna do , did i said i'm gonna blow up half of new york? no i din't said that , by meaning , i'm not gonna act like a saint , i ment , i'm not gonna sit here and watch myself die. i'm gonna do something i never did before , run naked on the highway , throw eggs at houses , ok buddy? oh sorry , by 'buddy' i mean mentally challenged kid  . The point is, some of those things are still destructive, meaningless and utterly stupid. If you want to leave a mark on the earth, what point is there in making it one of notoriety, when there are so many people who've done that job better than you? You'll be remembered a lot more and for better reasons if you do something like donate your wealth, help someone in dire need and at the same time tie up all loose ends with those close to you. One life is already ended in this hypothetical situation - why add to that? Sow a seed on the earth; don't destroy one.

moshing.
Yeah, I haven't seen that Slipknot thing but apparantly I know some people who went to Big Day Out last year and apparantly it was just a huge sea of people raising from the floor. Sounds pretty spectacular. Only been to two proper concerts so I've never moshed. One was A Perfect Circle, and Maynard is a tight-arse so he didn't want people crowd surfing and stuff, and the other was at a seated venue. Kinda interested to try it out once or twice, but I'm not keane on going in there and getting the [cabbage] kicked out of me. I'm just worried I'll be so jammed that I can't breathe.

xxxxx of the dead
I quite liked 28 Days Later. It made me think that, at that time, the meaning of life was to survive by any means necessary and to reproduce.

Yeah classic rock is good too, but in terms of subject matter not all of it is particularly upbeat, which is what I think the thread maker wanted.

'Oldschool' Discussion
In retrospect, I was wrong to list all those bands ... I doubt many of them will actually have a lot of recognition in a few decades time. But I strongly believe that not a SINGLE band to come will have the same level of decadence, recognition, popularity or respect as those during the golden era of the 60's and 70's; Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Beatles, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and some others.

'Oldschool' Discussion
I can think of a few artists who have had as much or close to the influence/popularity/recognition he has: Radiohead Nine Inch Nails Marilyn Manson Korn Placebo Audioslave Deftones Evanescence Faith No More System of a Down Tool I'm going to have to disagree on Evanescence. They aren't even around anymore? They had like 5 (?) year spurt, but it was nothing new/revolutionary it just helped mainstream listeners be sad and know about tourniquets (sp?). They are still around; they're just currently in off-peak. Whether or not they're original is different; but they successfully added pop-rock to the goth-metal sound of Lacuna Coil and Type O Negative, making it more digestable in a way The Cure and Dead Can Dance didn't. I think there's a possibility for them being remembered, because this most recent album sold well, but it's a matter of their next ...

If youn were going to die....
Oh, and I'd probably write a song to commemorate myself or something. Pooping on the lawn would be a pretty cool thing to do as well. Maybe I could write a song about pooping on the lawn ..
