Coil
Anybody heard of these guys? They're this weird, weird experimental group formed in the early 80's who combine noise, ambience, industrial, spoken word and neo-folk. They were pretty influential in the whole underground industrial scene; although they lack contemporary instruments and rather use a whole variety of devices to create beats and whatnot; whereas modern industrial bands like NIN and Marilyn Manson have the standard instrumental format. The music is really hard to describe ... but the people involved attempted to incorporate religion, magicks and philosophy into music - not through lyrics about Jesus or Satan, but somehow they attempted to emote this divinitive feeling through music. It's really quite impressive, especially if you check out Batwing (A Limnal Hymn), which showcases the vocal ability and the beauty of the poetry used (as they're not song they're not really lyrics). They're not around anymore as John Balance died about a year ago, but their last album (which was recorded in the final days of Balance's life), "The Ape Of Naples", was released a bit over a week ago. I'd say these guys are really worth checking out if you're into ambient, trance, industrial or any other part of the underground goth scene.

Best vocalist ever.
True, Matt Bellamy is a very talented vocalist. He's the only I've heard who can reach those high notes (like on Showbiz) but at the same time sing in a mellow tone without sounding like [cabbage].

green day concert!
I'm getting really sick of all the hype. Why are they winning awards for this year, when they last released their album in 2004?

School gets sued for sexual orientation discrimination
I'd like to see your logic there. Although I don't agree with Engl1sh's points, there are lots of evidences that suggest growing up with a male or without a female figure (mom or dad) can psychologically damage children. I have spoken with several therapists, for instance, who deal with a lot of patients whose problem is "induced homosexuality." That is, when someone becomes "homosexual" solely because they are a guy and they grew up without a dad (male attention) and subconsciously desire male attention. Now, I do believe in natural homosexuality (meaning I do believe people can be born *) but I also know that there are people who, after going to therapy are no longer homosexual, because the only reason they believed they were was because something that affected them in their earlier life that needed to be sorted out. Doesn't that mean that they were never homosexual to begin with - that they were psychologically or emotionally hindered? I don't consider that to be homosexuality, in the same way that hyperchondria isn't a physical disease.

Are you proud of your ignorance or something? i have a right to my opinion if you dont like it boo fin hoo. There's a difference between an opinion and a [bleep]ing ignorant statement; the latter of which you expressed.

School gets sued for sexual orientation discrimination
Oh yeah, we better watch out in case your son becomes a lesbian. So gay couples and adopted children should be punished because of the ignorance and cruelty of other children? I'd like to see your logic there. Then they shouldn't have to watch straight couples either.

Can pain affect sleep?
I'd suggest taking some flu-like tablets; they tend to help throat pains and some make you drowsy.

Best vocalist ever.
 I'd say Maynard James Keenan of Tool and A Perfect Circle, or Mike Patton of Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Fantomas and a bunch of other bands. He is one of the most diverse vocalists I've ever heard. Chino Moreno of Deftones and Team Sleep would be somewhere up there too.

Best Bassist ever
Fieldy is pretty damn good, but on See You On The Other Side I can't really hear any of his typical five-string slap-bass. It sounds like he might even be using a four-string. I'd say Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers (slap-bass is incredibly difficult) and the bassist from Tool whose name I cannot remember.

GTA3
I find it hard to believe you can complete GTA San Andreas to 100% in a week. That's all the storyline missions, gaining all the territories, taxi missions, ambulance missions, firetruck missions, silly person missions, all the cars delivered to the garage, all the sub-missions, all the rampages, all the bike/car/plane school missions, all the running/swimming/biking missions, all the graffiti tags...... i'm pretty sure there's more but even that lot would take way more than a week. Actually, the territories aren't necessary for 100%. But I agree in that anyone who claims to have beaten it in a week is lying.

Check Out This NEW Game I found!!
We're allowed to talk about RS in the off-topic forum if it's suited. How are we rude? The game just looks really, really dodgy. I'd never be interested in something so linear. The graphics are worse than RSC's. Maybe it's good for its budget, but if you're going to advertise a game that, let's face it, looks pretty crappy with advertising, on a Runescape forum (which, from what I can tell, is FAR superior), then you should expect to cop some flak.

GTA3
Well, I never officially completed the game. We had it on computer and I'd just load my brother's save games and continue from where he was. But since my various "gaming evolutions" (where due to increased intelligence/focus/whatever I'm much more capable with my dexterity, attention to detail, puzzle-solving and whatnot) I'm doing quite well on it for now. And it's a lot better than I thought. Usually after you play a revolutionary game, you appreciate it for a while but you leave it when something else cool comes along. I've never realised how awesome this game is, and how far ahead of its time it was. The story is still outstanding; I'd love to see it adapted into a movie (or maybe that would better suit another GTA game). I'm currently going for 100%; something I've vowed to but never have achieved on any of the GTA games. Right now, I think I'm on 70 something; done 70 of 73 missions (got the final one, the last 4x4 mission and another one I'm not sure of), just completed all the rampages today, done all jumps. Still have to do the car missions (firefighter, paramedic & vigilante), collect the packages (56 of 100 so far), do the last few missions and complete the car-delivery lists. Anybody else been playing it again recently, or completed in 100%?

What do you do when your not playing Runescape?
-Read (not books, but stuff on the net, eg. Wikipedia: stuff on philosophies, conditions, histories of bands I'm interested in etc) -Write music/lyrics (not as much anymore) -Play guitar -PS2 -Play another 'instrument' -T.V. -Go to the movies -Sleep -Talk to people online -Browse forums etc But I do a lot of that while I'm playing Runescape as well.

Random event: Santa Hat
There have been no confirmations at this stage. Chances are, they will be untradeabel - Jagex are sick of the instability in the economy caused by rares. And even if they were tradeable, they would either have enough for almost all players; i.e., they would be of little value due to their abundance. Why should they make them tradeable anyway?

Your view on the Violence in Sydney. Cross Racial Violence!
It's really just ... disgraceful. Australia was always considered to be one of the safest Western countries, one of the most civilized. I wouldn't expect this to happen here. How wrong I was.
