Weeds
In the way that it's not in-your-face straight-up, exaggerated simple humour, which is the sort of crap we get from American TV over here?

So if you were a politician ...
You forgot grain requisitioning and food rations.

A Newish Trend in Quests
It would be interesting if Jagex would borrow from WoW (which they are allegedly doing a lot of already) and add something like worldwide events - some sort of ... outcome, resulting from a certain quest, which effects the whole of Gielnor in some capacity. Of course, this would be incredibly difficult to manage, but it would be interesting. At least, that's what I thought of when the start of the next God War was mentioned above.

The Word "Noob", Not What We Though It was? (Close please)
The fact is, it's the internet - internet lingo is going to be constantly changed by those who use it (a large portion of which seem to be moronic pre-pubescant morons), and any linguistic conventions (if they even exist on the internet) are going to be ignored

I THINK I KNOW!! New Idea! (future update speculation)
Kind of an unneccesaary statement. The loud people will hate anything they could possibly come up with  But really, why speculate? And certainly why parade your speculations around as "knowing"? :-w He didn't once say the word "know" in his post, nor imply anything as factual - he was speculating like everyone else here, and that's to be expected when there's a new big update.

So if you were a politician ...
1. Not wearing seatbelts/helmets are punishable by law, because hurting yourself hurts the state. If you don't have any concern for your own health, the state can end up paying for some of your healthcare bill, you stay out of work due to injuries etc.. Or in the worst case, if you die.. It's not your life the government cares about, it's the fact when an average american dies, they just lost a potential $100,000-$400,000 in tax revenue over the rest of your lifespan. They NEED you to stay alive, so they can keep being in business. 2. The state doesn't control the supply of marijuana, if it becomes decriminalized, it'd still mean dealers reap huge profits from a product which can't be even taxed. If it becomes taxed, dealers will sell it for a lower price on black markets without paying the tax, benefiting both the buyer and dealer. If the state can't enforce the taxation of a substance, thus earn revenue from it's distribution, they will criminalize it. They couldn't care less about your health, it's the 20-30% tax cut they want that they can't get. 3. Withdrawing 150,000+ troops, heavy artillery, helicopters, tanks, supplies, will take a very long time. It's not an overnight process. Iraq is theoretically in a civil war right now, withdrawing from the responsibility (USA created the civil war by assaulting the country in the first place) has HUGE political repercussions. The american army can't leave Iraq before it becomes a normal stabilized country without warring factions who have their own armed forces and each levy their own taxes in their local bases of support. American generals have even admitted it's possible the model of democracy wont even work in Iraq, and they might have to resort to other government models similar to Saddam's (dictatorship), which at least kept the country stable, though terrorized minorities. Attacking a country, securing oil flow to domestic corporations, then leaving the country in chaos isn't something the rest of the countries will look through their fingers. Hurting yourself hurts the state, yes, but I believe that it's ultimately your own personal choice as to whether you want to make those choices or not. You do make a valid point with the healthcare system and the resulting payments by the state; that's the only argument I see against them. It's sort of hard to balance, and it's where Libertarian ideals have their downfall. Decriminalisation of marijuana allowing it to be privately traded; not necessarily provided by the state and its associated systems. Prosecutions for marijuana usage and possession cost the legal system lots and lots of money, as well as the taxpayers paying for the prison system. Fine, let the state enforce a tax system - it will allow a black market to emerge, but hey, there's already a pretty large one as it is, right? Australia's contribution to the Iraq war, to which I was referring, is far less than that of America - to the best of my knowledge, there is not a great deal of Australian artillery or military equipment there, nor 150,000 + troops - I don't think our army is even that big. Of course it's not an overnight process - it would have to be gradual, but I think it would be ultimately necessary.

Report Abuse Slip-up?
Because it would be heavily, heavily abused.

Playstation 3 - Failure?
The 360 version of GTA IV though is going to be better than the PS3 version though because of extra downloadable content later, so you can count that out. The PS3 is very sketchy right now, I compare it to the sega saturn launch IMO. Its just got out beat by the more efficient (to program on and run stuff on) system (360). If they go on to make another poor console though in the future it may spell doom for sony. Really though, its incredibly like the Saturn launch. Yeah, that's why I'm going to get a 360. But either way, the game's release will see a peak in sales of both consoles - though more so the 360. FF and GTA fans will get it then, so that will help the PS3. Either way, I expect the 360 to take a firm lead over Wii after its release.

Playstation 3 - Failure?
This may just be the fanboy in me (and it sickens me to admit that), but I'm not ready to count either console as down and out to Nintendo until several months after GTA IV.

Weeds
My mum recently got me into this show and I've only seen two episodes, but it is simply amazing. It's like British humour, but done by the Americans (sorry, but that's a really rare thing from my observations). It's able to be witty, rude and borderline smutty, but it does it in a manner that's so sophisticated and undercurrented (is that even a word?) that it's virtually impossible to be offended by it. The acting is great - especially that done by Justin Kirk and Mary-Louise Parker. For more info, of course: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weeds_(TV_series) (copy and paste link, doesn't seem to work otherwise) And for a clip of perhaps the greatest lesson I have ever seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWzOQTFwRBE

Explosions In The Sky
I love them - they're fantastic. For some reason, I find instrumental music (and as such most post-rock bands) to be more emotive than anything with vocals or lyrics - perhaps that's because they are only able to create mood through sound rather than language. They succeed at that more than virtually any other group of musicians I can think of. I've got The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place, and intend to complete the collection soon. I really hope that they come here soon, or that I can somehow miraculously go to an All Tomorrow's Parties, which they'll probably be on again soon. I'd advise anyone interested to check out 'Your Hand In Mine' and 'Six Days at the Bottom of the Ocean'.

What are you listening to right now!?
Saul Williams - Convict Colony NiggyTardust could be the best album I've heard this year.

kindness - how far is too far?
Ultimately, it is your stuff and you can do what you want with it, but I think you fell for a scam. The whole "my mum died" thing is so common on the internet - I've heard it on tonnes of games. The fact that it's on Runescape just seals the deal ... which was already sealed to begin with. Rebdragon articulated my thoughts perfectly; on the internet, and especially in popular MMORPG's, you have to switch that policy around. The thing is, this was, in my opinion and probably that of many others, 99% chance a scam. You've given this guy 1.3 million - do you think he'll stop there? I don't mean to crucify you for it or make you responsible for other actions, but there's a chance that this guy's just gonna keep on trying to pull the same scam as a result of your generosity. I'd advise not falling paying any heed to this sort of thing again, no matter how realistic it may seem.
-
So if you were a politician ...
... what would your policies be? This idea just came to me, and I was wondering how other people would "do it right". Keep in mind that for the sake of realism you'll probably have to sacrifice some things here for political pragmatism - I'm talking about if you realistically wanted to be in a position of power (state governor/premier, member of parliament, president etc), what would your political platforms be? Given that I'm still a teenager I obviously don't know a huge deal about the world or politics, but the libertarian ideology is the one that seems to appeal to me the most. My policies would be something like (this is in reference to Australia, by the way): - Withdrawal from the Iraq war - Legalisation of gay marriage (though this would lose me a lot of votes I imagine) - Major education subsidies (namely for universities) - Major health system subsidies - Decriminalisation of marijuana (though this would most likely be an impractical policy - can't have people damaging their bodies without harming others, can we!?) - Business de-regulations - businesses would be able to determine themselves whether or not they wish to allow smoking and things like that - Legalisation of euthenasia - for bureacratic reasons this would probably be introduced for only people suffering from terminal/debilitating illnesses, and for those over 60 - A reduction in taxes (provided that the health/education subsidies didn't need those funds; stopping the war would definitely help in reducing government expenses) - A reduction in censorship - Abolishment of victimless crimes - not wearing seatbelts, not wearing a helmet etc That's probably about it. Vote ATL! Your turn, infidel candidates.

Tip it vs Runehq
lol you dont have a good point but i dont think anoybody is going to bother and make another acc on the other site and say their opiniun . And for second one well.... i dont no really but this is the fairest you can get though if only the staff accutally but it on the front page of thier site wold it be good. But thats not going to happen. He does have a good point - if two biased sources even out then you're not going to get any real results anyway. Admittedly, this appears to be about the only way to gauge such results, but what's the point if we know it's not going to be fair or accurate?

important news regarding my RuneScape character
The point isn't saying that the amount from an account is insignificant. What it's saying is that if you spent as much time working a job as you had on that account, you'd be a LOT better off. $450 for hundreds of hours? Take into account the months of membership and that might go down to $400. Not really worth it, eh?

Extra Gravity
I came up with 'Abodemen Thieves' or 'Abdomenal Theft' at some point. I even wrote it on a piece of paper, so you better not steal it. I had a bunch of bad names when I was in a band, but they were crap. We ended up going with "Sodding Waffles". Ugh.

What are the worst song lyrics you've heard?
Is that like, a combination of Akon and Korn? Akorn  Oh man, that would be the worst lyrical combination ever ...

Vote colbert!
Until we all find out that there 'wit' comes from writers, who, when they take a strike next week, won't supply them with the ammunition, and the network will probably end up showing repeats. Bubsa takes the gold!

important news regarding my RuneScape character
That is indeed quite unfortunate. It seems that customer service online, no matter where you go, is going to be poor - I've had the same experience whenever I try to contact a website or something; it's just automated processing. That's understandable in some cases, but not in this case, where members are supposed to get preferential customer service treatment, and the fact that in this case you're a player-mod with a clean track record. It's ridiculous. You've got a pretty good attitude for someone who's evidently spent a lot of time on both the account and the community, and I envy you for taking it so well. I doubt many people here could come off of a permanent ban the same way you did - I know I couldn't. I've not met you before, but you sound like a pretty cool person, so all the best in the future. Peace.

What are the worst song lyrics you've heard?
Linkin Park and Korn have some pretty terrible lyrics. I think there were some others, but I've forgotten them at this particular moment.

is jagex trying to rid rs fansites?
Yeah ... I'm sorry, but this is just ridiculous. You're way off.
