I thought Korn did pretty well with See You On the Other Side. It was a step up from the comedy album that was Untouchables, and the relatively crap collection of songs that was Take a Look in the Mirror. What was wrong with it? To me see you on the other side was a terrible album, I've been listening to Korn since they released Issues and once head left the group, they seemed to change their sound so drastically that it was just awful. The guitar parts are not satisfying as they were with 2 guitarists, they also recorded with a studio group called "The Matrix" which records Pop Bands and its very apparent in the album, it has a very pop-ish sound that I really don't like. See You on the Other Side is the only Korn album currently released that I've not listened to more than 2-3 times. I always go back and listened to all the others, including Untitled, which was better but still wasn't as good as Take a Look in the Mirror and before that. It was just sort of a letdown to old school Korn fans if you were into their older sound. The only way for Korn to make an album that can be as good as before See You On the Other Side is if they brought a second guitarist into the group for recording and such, not just for playing old songs live. I think they just need to replace Head completely and stop trying to play as a 3 man band. I can sort of see where you're going there, but at the same time I disagree. I think that of all the nu-metal bands that arose in the 90s, Korn have been one of the only ones who have succeeded in maintaining their sound while at the same time experimenting, and that's what I thought See You on the Other Side did. I liked stuff like Hypocrites and Liar, which had that good heavy feel, while Twisted Transistor had the bouncy, sort-of-poppy feel that can still be appreciated because it has credibility, and then they pull off something weird and almost epic like Seen It All. I think the key strength is its diversity, which is not something I've seen as much on on their previous albums (particularly Untouchables & Mirror).

Agreed. It's easier to construct a sentence without profanity. Considering for you to type any form of profanity you need your brain to send a message to your hands there is plenty of time to think over what your saying. There is no excuse for "letting it slip" you know the rules and should think about what your saying before you do. uh dude, i hate idiots who cuss like crazy, not duh you can censor out cuss words but crap, butt, [developmentally delayed], shoot, ect...are not cuss words. I admit that censoring crap, butt and shoot is a bit silly, as they're generally not officially considered 'swear words' in most cases, and I pity anyone who feels offended by them. But (man I hate conforming to the censor here) r*tard is probably going to be used in an insulting context, so they should probably keep that censored.

23? God damn. Reminds me of that Australian band who got involved in a road crash last month. They were on their first American tour, self-financed ... they saw a deer on the road, tried to swerve, and crashed. At least two of the members died, and they were only in their 20s. It's tragic.

Here's another can of worms in this very thread ... The entire time I was reading that article, I thought, "I can't wait 'til they do the same thing to Phelps," and then I saw his name. Good to see that he's getting what's coming to him. I can't wait for that guy to pop off.

+1. Until I got my first Skill Cape in April, I had to keep up with every one of those stupid quests :x. Fremminik Isles was ownage though, one of my favorite quests ever. Some of the recent quests like Grim Tales, Path of Glouphire, and Back To My Roots are pretty high level. However "high level" to Jagex is like 71 WC and 95 combat :roll:. So what? Those aren't levels that just everyone has - they can take a fair amount of time. A quest aimed at level 110s would be pretty damn limited. Similarly, they're going to have to build up the quest requirements slowly if they do ever reach a point that will satisfy the 100+ or 110+ bracket.

That's true, I forgot about the achievement diaries. It just seems that they've been working on a few more technical/communicative/system things lately, like the clan chat system, new shop system, better examine descriptions, new interfaces and all that jazz. Those things are okay, but not when they're all clumped into one month update, or when their implementation postpones other practical/quest/minigame content. I do wonder what this new thing is, and I hope it meets its hype. Because I'm interested in people's thoughts towards quests and update content, as Jagex appear to be catering to the suggestions of players slightly more.

I was looking through the Runewiki list of Quests and their release dates and noticed this year so far has been slightly less than previous years. Including the upcoming goblin quest, we've had 14 so far this year, and I imagine we'll only be getting one or two more in December. Comparatively, in 2006 we received 21 quests; and in 2005 24. In 2006 we also received Hunter and Construction. In August this year, we had the first month ever when no quest was released since April 2004 (at which time RS2 was being worked on). Focus: What are your thoughts on all of this? Do we need more quests? Have the other updates Jagex have provided instead of quests being sufficient, or have the quality of updates in general declined? Do we have enough quests - should they instead focus on improving skills and adding minigames? What should be done?

Hard for high levels? I don't understand. A significant amount of high level players seem to complain about the lack of updates catered towards them - one arrives and you say it's too difficult. Do you really think they're going to give the high levels something that's not challenging?

I feel like I have so many to tell, but I can't recall. I play WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 a lot, and I've had a few brilliant matches. I had a TLC with Edge vs Matt Hardy in my General Manager mode (I had them feuding in the 'Cheating Girlfriend' storyline - how appropriate). I finished it beautifully. I ended up doing ridiculous stuff, like a suplex from the top of the ladder outisde the ring onto the announcer's table, followed by an Edgecution through the announcer's table, followed by a spear through a table set up in the corner. That was brutal. In another one I was Edge vs 'Taker in a Hell In a Cell match. I did this move by accident (still not totally familiar with the moveset) where I did that thing from behind where he slams them to the ground - I did that through the cage, followed by a spear. It was brutally brilliant, and brilliantly brutal. Then there are all those Khali vs Jillian Hall matches. I'm a terrible person.

To paraphrase virtually everyone else here - it's all about moderation. For instance, I right now am somewhat addicted. I play the game but am not getting the full enjoyment I used to. That's the problem with MMORPGs - at first it's fun and you get rewarded for your accomplishments. But as it goes on, it often becomes much more difficult to make progress, and (for some people, myself included) it becomes less and less enjoyable, and more of a chore that for some reason you can't pry yourself away from. But, it can be compared to so many other things - browsing random websites, social networking sites, posting on forums - they don't necessarily add much to your 'career'; but so what? It's about happiness. If you're enjoying what you're doing and YOU don't feel likee YOUR life is going to waste, then what's the problem? Peace of mind is what matters here. I'd say most people who 'quit' Runescape would go on to play another game religiously. But as I said, it's what matters to you. Me personally, I need to stop ... so I'm gonna go for a walk and buy a new video game. Fighting one addiction with another. Score!

A) To the best of my knowledge, the hardware is relatively well matched between the 360 and PS3. The main difference between the Premium and Elite versions appears to be the harddrive capacity - 20 and 120 gigs respectively. However, the 120 gigs should only be required if you have a lot of music you want to upload - like, in excess of 100 CDs. B) I don't think either console focuses on a particular genre more than the other - they seem to give a pretty even, comprehensive coverage of FPS, sport, RPG etc. C) I've played the 360 and PS3 (the latter on a demo only, though), and I'm more inclined to get the 360 due to price and games. Ultimately, this console race (and most others) comes down to titles. If the GTA franchise was kept exclusive to Sony, and GTA IV was only being released on the PS3, I'd be inclined to say the PS3 would 'win' this generation, or at least be leading at this point of time. Now, I personally want to get a 360 for the following reasons: 1) It appears to be less expensive (by at least $100AU) than the PS3 2) The PS3 doesn't appear to have any major hardware advantages over it 3) GTA IV - if you're a big GTA fan, you'll want the 360. Rockstar will be releasing two packages of 'episodic content' at some point after the initial release. These are essentially expansion packs, but are apparently really big ones - they are said to add a bare minimum of 10 hours of extra gameplay, plus I imagine they'll enhance the whole experience. That's enough to woo me, but there do seem to be more perks. Halo 3 - this might not fall under your adventure/RPG umbrella but does indeed seem to be the game of choice amongst 360 fans, though I'm not sure if I believe the hype. There's a possibility of them transporting the Runescape franchise onto console in the form of another game based on the MMORPG, but I don't see the game's current incarnation going to the console anytime soon, if at all.
