  1. That setup should be ideal, I tried the same setup only with zammy book and struggled (will be trying zammy shield instead). The extra kills per hour where enough to warrant the void. Your setup doesn't have a zammy item though which will seriously reduce the time you can spend there. Maybe try void praying range there? I tried a spot of it last night and it worked fine until I wondered into the bandos area without bandos boots....
  2. You only need to get upto the part where you teleport from the tunnel to varrock to unlock them, this means you only need the quests and the hunting requirement (you can pot to it as well ;) ). If your getting 65 to 70k per hour your seriously doing something wrong. I've been hitting the 70k mark (73k per hour last trip \ ) and my stats are far worse. Are you using void? If not that could be it, I get an extra 10k per hour just by wearing melee void there.
  3. Go to world 144 and stand near the bank. Since the specials are almost guaranteed to get you the amount of damage you need to get PC points there in high demand there.I've also seen it used at barrows to do some nice fast damage to karil and ahrim. SGS is a far better general usage weapon, but you'll be able to lend D claws out easier and for more. Anybody can do enough damage in PC to get points, all you need is 50 damage you can get that from a dds spec as well. I see no reason why anybody would pay to borrow claws. SGS has far more uses and should undoubtedly have more demand. Go to world 144 PC bank for 5 minutes and see how many people want to borrow them. Then play a few games and watch the d clawers. They spec the portal or a npc then either sit back and do nothing or switch to a different weapon. I've been camping there for about 3 days on/off to get my full void, so please don't tell me people don't use them there. Wait for about 4 hours (peak borrowing time) then check this RSOF topic. The amount of people wanting borrow D claws is always equal or greater then the amount of people wanting to borrow SGS. Why do people borrow D claws over SGS? 3 letters, PvP. Like I said in my post SGS is the better weapon only its easier to lend out D claws.
  4. First of all nice guide, need a bit of tweaking Melee section (I personally don't like the other methods at all  ) I thought the iron and steel dragons where much weaker to stab then slash? Take a DDS or D mace for the special (even a SGS would be ok as if you time it right you take no damage) as the poison speeds up the kill, D mace does some high hits and has a prayer bonus and the SGS well its ideal if it hits). This comment worries me. Dragon items are always considered rare which includes the main source of gp from them, the dragon legs/skirt, as are rune items so why wouldn't you take a RoW? Equipment wise these 2 should be switched. Best RFD Gloves Best Armored Boots To Barrows > Dragon > Rune > Regen > Addy > Combat Dragon > Rune > Climbing > Addy/Fremmy (3) > Bandos/White Replacing the super attacks with zammy brews allows you to last longer (since you get prayer points) and you'll naturally heal the damage dealt anyway. Replace 1/2 (depending on the BoB) prayer potions with super restores if your using familiars to save running to the altar.
  5. Money or exp which is worth more? Money - stick with green dragons Exp + Money - Ankous (sp?) Exp + Exp + Money - AZ's
  6. Stats and equipment you plan on using. The only time you should use a GS over a SS or Z spear is if your 90+ melee stats, 80+ magic and are using full void. Otherwise stick with SS or Z spear
  7. I believe the comment is question was an attempt at stopping a possible security breach for anyone using it. This just seems a bit half assed by the Mod's. There's been numerous occasions where they've given bad information both in game and on the forums. DFH, is the one which I remember best. Just sit back and watch the show guys.
  8. Ok first of all mic's will never be allowed in RS, as the target age is about 10 to 14 (hence the parent section, etc). Voice is extremely hard to monitor, moderate, adds massive amounts of bandwidth usage and its generally a bad item in a game of this scale (W2 GE with voice anyone?). The quick chat feature was/is pretty much a test system for low effort communication ie console or handheld devices. So it all would make sense. The thing is theres a lot of extra work Jagex would have to do to get it to a workable state for a console, especially all 3. 360 is going to be the easiest to cater for as its essentially a PC anyway. The Wii has issues with the resolution as its smaller then the SD version let alone the HD version, so would require a lot of work both in the dumbing down, the reduced screen space and the controls. The PS3 is nortiously hard to code for. All of theses things are bad for the current 'scapers as not only would they have to trouble shoot the current game, but the'd also have to trouble shoot 3 different clients as well as spending time tweaking them. Love the idea though.
  9. I second FormatFactory.
  10. Go to world 144 and stand near the bank. Since the specials are almost guaranteed to get you the amount of damage you need to get PC points there in high demand there. 11. It works this way. Bunyip is a passive familiar and will not attack unless attacked. Pretty much all other combat familiars (this includes BoB's) will auto attack after a few seconds, when the call button is pressed or when attacked. Terrorbird would have auto attacked the black demon in that case, the black demon then switches to the thing which did the last damage for its attack, which happens to be your terrorbird. After a few hits it will then check which did the last damage and attack it. I've never seen a bunyip get attacked or attack in either the GWD or in game, but I don't PvP. So all as I can go by is what I've been told.
  12. Nope no one wants to borrow them for more then an hour or so and theres very little demand for them.
  13. If I remember rightly you don't get exp from the scroll attacks (this was about 2 months ago with the smoke devil scrolls so it my have been fixed). Replace the summoning pot with a super restore and you've got a 2 in one. Why not use the northern section where theres just 2 hobgoblins or the 3/4 in near where you enter? That way you could just use void and the 10% prayers, which should be much more exp per hour. Just an idea anyway. Nice guide, but I doubt I'll be getting 80+ prayer any day soon.
  14. I feel really bad about my post now. It seems like it sparked a big heated dispute (arguably a flame war). The only thing which concerns me now is the actual values of the weapons an how you indeed to balance those. Lower stat weapons have lower alch values (in some cases a small difference in others much larger) for example rune short sword compared to rune scimmy there's a 3k difference. Do you leave them the same or change every single items (which the stats well be changed on) high and low alch values or leave them be. In the case of the short short you can increase the high alch value as it only requires 1 rune bar to craft (this would cause a lot of issues with smithers, miners and so on) then on the other hand you can't really decrease the alch values of rune scimmy without all F2P players and Pk'ers moaning. In all honesty I think you've bitten off more then you thought you had as its a very fine balancing act. All the best.
  15. I always pick d skirt over d legs. There is no stat difference which justifies the cost difference and tbh who cares about the little frill at the bottom?
  16. The other way around BGS for harder high defense monsters and whip for easy low defense tasks. Theres a 2:3 ratio with BGS:Whip on speed so if you've got something low level you can kill with whip in 2 hits and bgs with 2 (say a 50hp monster) then whip is going to be much faster kill per kill. With a high defense monster you might miss twice with the whip and hit once, but with the bgs miss one and hit one so they balance out on speed but the higher strength helps the bgs hit higher. Of course a there are very few slayer tasks which require a bgs over a whip especially with the need for special shields, leaf weapons and so on.
  17. Yes your too low. Barrows is only effective when using magic (veracs and GS's are ok, but not great). With range you waste a lot of time and ammo per kill.
  18. Those 50's were the whole reason I was testing it ;) I'll admit BGS was a more fun weapon to use, but the difference was too great considering I was only there for the exp. Once I start training strength again I will be using it as the difference between the d scimmy and BGS is going to be very close.
  19. Arma item - not needed Sara item - not needed Zammy item - use the cape slot Bandos item - your BGS Which leaves you with the head, body, legs, ring, gloves, boots and neck slots. The neck, boots and ring will always be (well should ideally always be); fury, dragon and berserker/warrior. The cape I would recommend zammy god cloak as it offers a nice prayer bonus, decent defense stats and is a zammy item. So you have the helm, body, legs and gloves to play with. Helm: void melee => neitz -> torags -> other Body: void => bandos -> fighter -> dhide/karils -> Barrows melee armour -> other Legs: void => bandos -> veracs -> dharoks/torags -> guthans -> other Gloves: void => barrows -> dragon -> rune -> regen/addy -> other Void of course should only be used as a full set. The extra offensive bonus's counter the lower defensive stats, plus void has a very high magic defense compared to other sets. There is about a 2/3 max hit difference between void and bandos at maxed stats, but the 10% attack bonus makes up for this. Depending on you, you can replace the body and legs with proselyte which means you can pretty much piety the whole time (during the boss fight) without the need to use prayer potions (just using the altar), but this gives a worse magic defense (it should also be noted it doesn't count as a sara item) so you use more food for less/no prayer potions. Its all down to personal preference and stats in the end, lower magic level needs a higher magic defense, lower defence needs higher range and melee defense, etc.
  20. I was toying around doing some testing at AZ's just to confirm the difference of whip and BGS for attack or defense training. With the best offensive and sustainable gear (void melee, god cloak [prayer bonus needed with void], d boots, zerker ring and salve ammy e) as well as potting every time I hit the 50% of the original boost. Using whip and rune defender I get ~73k exp per hour Using BGS I get ~60k per hour So with my stats theres a 13k difference (~121% more exp with whip), but note that this is is with the best offensive gear on one of the best training spots. So with higher defense monsters its going to be a small gap and lower defense monsters a bigger gap.
  21. Sorry I left this topic after my posts. Before you even think of selling it do the following. Turn it over and look for a windows product key. (If this has been removed you can't do any of the following.) Note the version and see if anyone you know has a disk for that version of windows (its either Pro or Home). Borrow it from them and insert it into the CD drive then follow the instructions and enter the product key from the back when it asks for it. Then once you have it booted up into windows go to this site and select the drivers on the right side. Filter for XP and download the latest version of all the downloads availiable apart from anything to do with BIOS. Then run windows updates and you should be ok.
  22. Just 1 point.... I saw more penguins and was hopping for atleast one 2 pointer or maybe a new massively rare 3 pointer. Thats a bit disappointing, but hey its still an extra 1.8k summoning exp for free \ I'm really itching to start this quest now just the polar bear riding was enough of a reason.
  23. Since you have a nice hunting level there's red chins. Green dragons and Avis are going to get suggested soon and wouldn't be too bad at your levels 250k+ per hour. With your skills I'm sure you know what you like doing so stick with doing something profitable in that skill. O and do farming runs when ever you remember as its pretty much free exp and gp.
  24. Your stats Sumona then switch for the big 10's and 50's.
  25. Looks like a really fun quest to get me back into the questing mood. So its now 20 penguins points per week? If so my summoning is going to hit 79 quicker then I thought. The exp isn't amazing, but those are skills I rarely train so its not bad at all. Whats the difference between the expansion and the bonus?
