  1. It is true for all abilites? The only ones it doesn't effect are instant cast abilities, which makes sense, and possibly snipe but I haven't used that in so long I can't be sure of that.
  2. Fine, look at other MMOs, in WoW you have many more long cast time type abilities, upwards of 10 seconds, guess what, movement cancels them because it makes sense. Even avoiding realistic, your standing in an open plane and a dragon is flying towards you, do you stand there flailing your sword back and forth because thats what you started with, or do you side step the flames and do something else?
  3. So you would never use a cast/use duration type ability on QBD because she could pop fire wave/superbreath/minions at any time? You can, but you also have to accept that high risk = high reward (in this case, lots more damage.) Or we could awknowledge the fact that we should be able to run away while casting abilties. Its a design flaw. If you were doing something like rapid fire in real life with a semi auto machine gun and you saw a rocket launcher being shot at your face, would you sit there till you emptied your clip? Or would you stop what you were doing and run like hell?

For QBD I would as all of those attacks except for maybe the superbreath are survivable. For things like the new Auto's earthquake attack, I would more than likely die so no, I wouldn't use any abilities that root me to the spot. Phase 4 minions in void has high KO potential. By not using those abilties on the Auto's your missing out on a huge amount of DPS.

  6. What annoys me is the inability to move while doing a long combo one. If i click to run away it should cancel it. But it does cancel it. It doesn't when, say, I do binding shot. I have to wait for the animation to complete before I can even do another basic let alone move. Go to QBD and use assult when the souls spawn and let me know how well you can run away from them.

  8. I'm working on redoing the optimum crew, I'll post it tonight when I get home as the tip.it calculator doesn't work at work. Joys of a machine with IE 6 as the only browser >.<
  9. The 4th merchant takes up a crew slot which could be used to get greater success chance on the missions you are sending out. I don't think it's terribly likely that you will send four at once at any time, because of the low success rate you will likely have to accept. You'd have to be lucky enough to roll just the right mix of singles, doubles and triples (no more doubles/triples than you have judges, no two of the same mission (which implies no more than one triple) etc.). More then one triple isn't always a bad thing I've had days where I send out 2 triple 10k missions for ~80% each.
  10. Part of me wants to say the simplest solution to all of this would be to just require TWW as a prereq for all future quests, so you have to get the background for future lore to make sense. It might even help motivate people to go back and do the pre quests for TWW as background.
  11. Part of the staff advantage is the extra dmg per hit, without an offhand casting a spell your losing out on dps using just a wand versus a stave or wand/offhand combo.
  12. This is actually something I hadn't considered, and might be something to reconsider. What would you replace the merchants with, what are you currently using as a setup? (see mine posted a few pages back)
  13. A RFD style setup would have saved us from this mess. How would that have helped? The main point of this quest is that *SPOILER* guthix dies *SPOILER*, and with that you need Sliske, where is Sliske introduced? You'd need to have higher entrance requirements. Its impossible to break this up into stages when him dying is the final part of it. Like I posted above^^ this issue was impossible to avoid because questing isn't manditory.
  14. It make sense as to why they had to do this, and its part of the inherant problem of runescape that you don't ever have to do a quest. If you needed to quest as part of your progression through the game, IE you reach level 50 in a stat you have to do a quest to keep going they wouldn't have this issue. By giving players too much choice they made it so they can't give us choice.
  15. Tad bitter are we? You stupidly nieve to think that they could leave the game with the same xp rates as before. A good example is Wow, because RS is starting to be like that as people are considering "endgame" content. If the vast majority of your current player base is at "end game" you need to accelerate the rates at which everyone else can catch up to that or you won't have new players sticking around. TD:LR You need to up xp rates as a game ages so new players can play with the old players.

  17. Unless they have been buff'd your doing something wrong, because I have no issues killing them with a poly staff and earth spells. I take alot of dmg but SS takes care of that.
  18. What monsters are "unkillable"? I would assume this is the reason everything else saw a nerf, it was a quick fix that effected more then it should have.
  19. Mhmm, I agree it needed some balancing but other things aren't that bad. Most tasks I can do in ~20 minutes or less, aside from things like 100 steels. Even things like Mutated velds I've switched to regular because they are just that fast. If you give up looting, as i have 99 summoning I'm not overly concerned about charms, before this nerf I could easily hit 70 - 80k an hour without using a titan or cannon.
  20. I've currently got 46 bones, 49 plates 12 lacqur 6 chi and 210 spices. I've made 9 scrimshaws, and tetsu legs. I guess the question becomes is that 8 scrolls worth the extra time? I've completely filled out my crew and bought all my ship upgrades also. So now I'm basically leveling up my crew to max farming some extra stainless steel. I'd say in ~5 days all of my crew will be level 8 + and I'll start only doing scroll + tradegood missions. Your several weeks out from doing that. I've also only done 2 storyline ones from the princers getting me the 100 spices and 25 bones + merchant.
  21. Black demons were 98.5 when i did them a few days ago, greaters where 120. I'd assume they felt some tasks were too high and brought them back. I did steels >waterfiends>steels in an hour the other day, picking up all the loot and I got ~58k xp.
  22. Halving the xp rates would put it below pre eoc numbers, do you have any numbers to back this up? Go and kill a slayer creature, and you will get just over half the slayer xp from it that you would have done yesterday. So steels are now ~190 xp? and abby specs will be ~ 40xp each?
