  1. Shadow: Even if you didn't consider them (by "them", I understand you refer to the chickens being in farms, etc.) wrong, you should still stop using them as part as your argument because it's still irrelevant. You might lose credibility or moral authority in my eyes, but that's it. Reb: Yeah, I've heard about that. I admit I still have to see a natural chicken fight, but I'd assume that -just like dogs in a fight- they can flee before they get too harmed and that the chickens have chosen to engage in the fight by themselves. So, the fact they fight each other does not justify setting up the fights, especially if the reason is sadism. Just like Lionheart said a while ago.
  2. I feel there's a huge detail you are missing, Shadow: A wrong does not justify a different wrong. I'm sure you wouldn't need examples to realise this. If you are defending cockfighting, you should do it on its own merits, not because chickens can bet get mistreated in farms, not because they sometimes fight naturally -even though you're missing they could simply flee in a natural fight-, and certainly not because some people like watching boxers fight. Now tell us, how do you justify putting up insentient animals to fight in a ring, for the mere purposes of lucre and sadism?
  3. Um, generally speaking, they are. Most religions teach some kind of moral lesson that's for the most part usually true; morally speaking anywayz. I'm not saying religions can't include morals, but that (1) being religious doesn't exclude you from behaving immorally, and that (2) you can have morals without being religious.
  4. It's not that atheists "get very defensive when it comes to a diversity of opinion", it's just that your opinion is that 'hippy liberals and atheists have brought [your] country to hell and atheism is causing a moral bankruptcy'. Even I can get somewhat offended by that. Religion (or God) and morals aren't mutually inclusive, and you should learn that. Calling out names and pointing fingers only makes you look as a child.
  5. I'm upper-middle class (not Barihawk's definition) in a third world country. So I'd say part of the normal middle class to your standards. Too bad Ginger Warrior left; I'm sure he'd throw a fit with this thread.
  6. 0! ... Well, 317...
  7. 7 for an ok picture, -1 for an overused meme. 6/10
  8. 89, as in 01011001.
  9. WAIT. Do you count as Staff, being an IRC OP? O_o I'm just wondering if you just grandiosely screwed us. Anyway, 83.
  10. I was born and still live in Costa Rica, in the capital city. Wow, I'd never have guessed you were Brazilian. Is São Paulo really that awesome? I've always wanted to visit it.

We should finish defining our domestic policies before planning our expansion, don't you think? A Confederacy of some sorts is necessary to gather all the different ideals of the different forums under a common goal, varying from GD to the depths of the Falador Library. Going on from the idea of Direct Democracy (rule by the mobs,I say), I propose each board directly elects representatives for the Grand Council, the main ruling body. There's no need for separation of powers at the moment. Meanwhile, mods will remain as a civilian police power, enforcing the rules, and TET members can go and drown in the sea organize celebrations and festivals, and eventually participate in the different churches/religions.
  12. Oh, have a safe trip. I'm on a much merrier mood now. It's wonderful how a small chat over a cup of coffee cheered me up.

I'm just wondering, if you guys dislike the idea of rule by the handsome and capable, then what other alternative do you propose?

But you don't understand; you need us. Without our benevolent and handsome dictatorship, there'd be a bloody anarchy -users against users, destruction and tragedy everywhere, only for the mere sake of power. Or even worse, you'll face the perils of a rule by the TET, which won't serve as a ruling power but will ravage our land being nothing but leeches of the commoners. They'll crush your spirits and force you to work in order to satisfy their oh-so-lulzy Parties and Runescape events. Look into yourselves and find the truth, and you'll understand your need for our guidance and protection.

How come you are still discussing the government? Tip.it is a simple meritocracy where Mods -the most capable and handsome- rule. There's no queen or king, just us, and all decisions shall be taken in some kind of council or senate. Crewbies can have some kind of imaginary power so they won't complain as well.

    1) Partially yes, I feel it might desensitize people from some aspects of war. 2) Not applicable. Or no, even if one was set up. 3) No, I doubt it. MAD prevents it. 4) There's little I can do on a personal scale unless I am to become a public icon. 5) Intolerance and lack of dialogue. 17, male.
  17. I'm so awfully bored.
  18. Please. Both of us might be fans, but I'm the mod. You'd think I'd be the one who'd get the FMA-related rank. Hey, can't I just straight up request that?

As much as I loved the joke with the Irishman ( ), I'll be locking the thread. Why? 'Cause there's already a jokes thread here, so feel free to use that one.
  20. Relaxing, yet energetic music for the background? Try E.S. Posthumus. It's not exactly ambient but it's the first thing I thought of when I read your post. [hide=][/hide]
  21. Even if I had no idea what the number was, I can still come in and reset the count.
