longsword beats scimmy so bad
 Well, what do you all know! i've just finished one round of test for Adamantite Scimitar and the xp I got was somewhere close to what a Rune Longsword could give me in an hour. Adamantite Scimitar --- 35032xp/hr (after 1 test; may try more tests if I got the time or someone can try for themselves :D ) Rune Longsword --- 35952xp/hr (average) To be honest, the 2 results above doesn't differ by too much; maybe about 4 Giant Spiders with a HP of 50 (200xp ea). This was the result I got at 92 Attack and 99 Strength. (Max hit of 16 with Addy Scimitar) Of course, the best way to test this further would be to do a few more rounds and then getting the average amount of xp. Also, I think for lower leveled players, the attack bonuses given by the Rune Longsword would be better than the speed of the Adamantite Scimitar. For players with higher level of Attack, perhaps speed is all that matters. For lower-level players with a tight budget, sticking to an addy scimitar isn't that bad until you can afford a better scimitar~ So in true Mythbusters style ----- 1.The scimitar is a better weapon than a longsword for training: Confirmed 2.Scimitars' speed is a better factor over the Longsword slightly higher stats: Confirmed 3.Speed's so important such that a scimitar 1-level lower is better than a longsword that's 1-level higher: Plausible (with strength potion?) or Busted(?) P.S: I don't know much about Specs and the likes of Dragon weaponry; also not too sure about PvP aspects. But all in all, if you are playing this game for fun and stuff, then just use the weapon that you like. EDIT: Psss....I was actually secretly hoping that the addy scimitar would win!

Firstly, there's no point calculating all these points and then saying how Longsword wins the Scimitar by so many points and therefore is a better weapon. This is all theoretical but to really find out, you have to do the practical tests yourself. Granted that the Longsword does have all these slightly better accuracy bonuses and allows you a +1 to max hit. However, I'd agree with most people that the Rune Scimitar is better for training on NPCs. Why? Because I myself tested the xp/hr I can get. Like what most people agreed on, the tiny bonuses doesn't really show up much since the combat mechanism is based on random dice rolls(?)... Next, I tested the 2 weapons at the Giant Spiders and timed at hourly intervals the amount of xp i received. The average xp I received for using Rune Scimitar was about 41804 xp. The average xp I got from Rune Longsword was about 35952 xp. I kept the tests as accurate as possible, meaning that whenever there's Random Events, I'd stop the timer and resume it once I got back to the combat area. Thus, I can safely say that Scimitar is better for training on NPCs although I am not sure about the aspects of PvP. Not sure about Dragon weapons and their specials though so no comments on that. Lastly, about the notion that 'small differences between sword and scimitar doesn't matter much and won't show; only speed matters", I'd have to agree with the majority of the TIFers here. One interesting thing that someone can test (if they have the time or are interested in), would be using an Adamantite Scimitar and a Rune Longsword. Now, they have a somewhat significant difference in stats. It would make for an interesting test between speed and stats. I might try that sometime.. if i got the time. Watch this space~ EDIT: Well I just smithed myself an Adamantite Scimitar and going to test it out now. I will edit in the xp per hour here and then maybe post the average xp/hr. Btw, I have already begun the test and things are looking really bad for Rune Longsword. . Maybe's still too early to tell. We'll see!

The Knowledge Base made a mistake? "but it deals slightly more damage" :?: Hmm...if thats the real case, a fast weapon+ability to deal more damage than a Longsword will be the choice for most players. Of course I guess the KB probably made a mistake there.. EDIT: Oh wait, it deals slightly more damage than the SHORTsword. My bad

Best way for a F2P player to get from 39-43 magic
:D There you have it! Straight from someone who had used this Curse/Weaken/Confuse spells method~~ I did that too, all the way till I could get High Alch, and that was way before F.O.G. :D Wait...Why didn't you mention your method then? Because I trained my mage this way way back at the beginning of RS2 and only trained for a while here and there since I too read about this method on TIF. And I didn't really take note of the 'cost' factor since I didn't buy my runes but they(thousands of them) were what I had gotten from monster drops since RS Classic and I didn't train magic that much because I thought it didn't look that cool at that time... (just imagine a purple little '*' shooting towards your opponent) Thus since n00bfighterpk6 had tried and tested it and recorded down the costs and all, you have your answer. Any queries, just direct them to him

Yeah I agree that casting spells that causes damage instead of splashing will earn more exp. If yaoli is confident enough to utilise the safe spot, he can probably kill lesser demons. Maybe even fire strike/bolt Ice Warriors or something. As for FOG, I didnt said that was efficient though. I believe as with all Combat Mini-games, the xp received would be halved. (Correct me if wrong). Free? Yes. Efficient? I am not too sure; depends on your opponent whether is he a lazy person who doesn't want to run around but stand at the centre and pray or something. Yup, I overlooked the fact that spells would fail 100%(?) of the time when casting in metal armour. I believe Kingjoe's Fire Strike vs Fire Wizard method may not be the fastest but it allows for 'AFK' training since the Fire Wizard wont die(?) to the Fire spells; meaning you needn't pay too much attention when using this method. Different methods have different drawbacks and advantages, that's all I can say. I guess I can help summarise the methods: 1. Using F.O.G to train. 2. Using failed Fire spells on Fire Wizard. 3. Using spells on Demons or Ice enemies. 4. Using de-buffing spells on the Lumby Dummies. Tell us your budget yaoli, so that the rest here may advise you or something since I myself don't really train magic that much.

F2P STR Training
I almost always end the hour mark with food left; usually manage to last for more than an hour. However, I did a little test (take the result with a pinch of salt though since one test doesn't tell much) and I found that the Longsword gets lesser xp per hour (at around 37k) but however I found out at the end of the hour mark I got more Lobsters left over than when I was using the Scimitar. But as I said, it wasn't many rounds of testing and taking of averages so don't start about the Rune Longsword vs Scimitar debate again. (although I might do more test runs and post my results next time provided if I have the time.) As for Random events, when they happen, I will stop the timer and start it again after completion of the event so the xp per hour value should be quite accurate. EDIT: I calculated the values by the hour; meaning I record down the value at the hour mark and restart the timer for another hour. Is this method better than playing for 3 hours then finding the average? I am not sure. Maybe someone can try too? Lastly, when I tested for these values, there wasn't anyone sharing the spot with me, so the spiders attacked one after the other. Things might be different if there were others sharing the spot with you as they would block the spiders from reaching you. EDIT: For his strength level, he shouldn't be using Flesh Crawlers because with a 25hp, let's say Slaytanicc hits a 18, then he only needs a 7 to kill off the Crawler; it stifles his ability to hit to his max for most of the time. For spiders, at least he could hit 18s and 17s a few more times than he would with a Crawler. Crawlers will be good for lower-leveled players though. Just my opinion~~

F2P STR Training
And that someone who knows about this would be me!! :D Thanks to the stopwatch and my Ignore List (used for taking down notes), I have calculated the xp per hour at around 39k to 42k per hour. OFFTOPIC: Oh by the way, I ALMOST got 99 strength at the Giant Spiders but I tele-ed at the very end so I can go kill a few Guards to level up; just so I can see the message and hear the fire-works. :

Fair enough, if weiyaoli is a good FOG player he can probably rack up mage xp quickly(although not as quick as conventional methods) for free. However, the time spent to hunt down the opponent makes it a not really viable option to use FOG for training magic. Shouldn't really be using de-buffing spells in between attacking spells too since the exp given is so little; would rather use attacking spells all out if using the FOG option. For a balance between efficiency and costs, use de-buffing spells or what Kingjoe mentioned :fire strike vs Fire Wizard. For free but slower mage xp: FOG For having fun on RS: Use whatever spells you like~ ~ :D

F.O.G is too slow exp. Besides, once the opponent has been cursed/weakened/confused, you cannot cast it at them again...

Erm... talking about Curse spells, if I am not wrong, you can cast on the training dummies in Lumbridge. Maybe you might want to try it out over there and see if it works? It's safer and low-risk. EDIT: Ok I just tried using de-buffing spells on the dummies; it worked perfectly without even having to wear metal armour since you can keep casting at it.

Lady Shahdie's Complete Guide to Mining Like a Pro (F2P) V.2
Yup, the Explorer's ring 3 works and I am sure of that because I used it to escape from revvies before. I think tele-block will have the same effect on all teleportation spells regardless whether its Home, Town or Cabbage-tele. Perhaps if one knows the route to Bounty Hunter bank, then it is also a viable option of escaping the revvies. It's around Lvl 20 wilderness; same as the maximum level required for teleportation spells to work.

Ummm.... might i suggest wearing the Explorer's Ring 3 instead? This way you can have 3 more spaces in the inventory. Overall, it's a good guide; i give it a 9.9/10 for not including super-heating ores. :

New Outfits
Erm....it's not the heads getting bigger actually. It's the head-gear thats getting over-sized. Santa hat now looks kindda baggy; lederhosen hat looks a tad too big in F2P and so does the Combat Hood.

I got this from Jagex today...(supposedly)
JAgex staff has said it many many many times and even emphasised it in the Security of Stronghold. They will NEVER NEVER EVER send any e-mail to any players of anykind. They will ONLY use the Game Inbox~~ :

boosted stats
Yep, you definitely need to re-drink your Str pots in f2p becasue it is from my personal experience that when you drink and then log out, you get back to your original un-potted stats even if you just drunk like about 5 seconds ago. I don't know abt p2p too though~

New Players (NOOBS) Getting A Bad Rap? - Post here!!!
If you offer bad trades you ARE a noob. no, if you offer a bad trade, you probobly have A LIFE, unlike some people who are 100+ combat, and do nothing but play runescape "but, but, i have a girlfriend" some high levels try to say, "I get outside" yeah, to get in your mom's car to go to school, or in other cases, to get in your moms car to go to work! But you are probobly a guy who thinks everybody who is a level is a noob, i would rather be a noob, than a huge fat nerd who lives in my moms basement... I wouldn't consider my self a noob, but I know 123yourgone is about to call me a noob for talking on and on about his thoughts, but I think that everybody who walks around calling low levels noobs, needs to get a life, or something like that... 123yourgone, i know your thinking you could own me, or you could beat me, or other stuff like that, but i dont care. well if you think that people who dont know prices are noobs, than you need a life. if all you do is memorize prices all day, than your a real life noob, your probobly a 400 pound, 16 your old, kid who is whiter than sour cream... I know your gonna reply to this, so let me say something, you think your big, and strong having 90+ attack, and other stats like that, but your not, you have a life, a runescape life, no other life..... I've never used the word, however, your argument makes me want to do so now. I'm combat 108, and *gasp* I've had an account for almost 6 years now, and *gasp* I'm lower combat/total than most people who started within the last three years. Another *gasp*: What the hell are you saying? People over combat 100 are fat? I'll be happy to inform you that I weigh only 180 pounds and work out daily. I also happen to have friends, go out on weekends and weekdays, pull off good grades, play sports, etc. You're stereotyping because one person called you that? Well, seeing as how offended you seem to get by his rejection, I would guess you fit into your own biased words. Just my thoughts, I'm actually a nice person overall :) and for those who say that a level defines Noob: A wise man once said (I cant seem to recall his name) "Noob is an attitude, not a level." Hey Mat, ditto to you~ I,too, have been playing longer than most people(I was from RSC), and I only played mostly every weekends. I even stopped for about a year or so and only resumed playing abt the time when God armours costs abt 3 mllion plus. I am stll Lvl 99 but get called "nerd" when i walked through Lumby once.. Man, i have nevered called anyone noob for, i dont know how long. It's so irritating when you are having a chat with a friend and some (lower lvled) guy came up and "n00b" us. I mean, whats his problem anyway???

Cheapest and cool-looking outfit.
That's very popular among the Chinese, I hear... Lolzz~~ You have to mention Chinese National, because most of them are from China. There are other people whose ancestors are chinese but they are not from China herself. Of course if you meant that as tongue-in-cheek. then of course :XD: ~

Ahhh, good ol' noob memories
Man, you are one lucky fellow who actually managed to pick up so much cash from drop traders~~ I wish I was that lucky when I was in my newbie days though :-k

Ahhh, good ol' noob memories
ye, the first place i came to in RSC was also Varrock. I kept examining things then i examined "sword shop". so off i went in and to my dismay i cant afford anything... I got my full iron free from a nice buddy~ i was still in iron full at around lvl 40 plus, Then i skipped straight to addy armor w/o ever wearing any full mith at all(not even now) Then i went to runite later~~

Will making strength ammys be profitable?

if you could have 1 mill....
yes its a very wise choice, because u gain exp in that skill your lvl times 10. So u could very well earn more prayer exp than 1mill bones. And for that matter, any skills too~ two thumbs up for this choice \
