82 year old woman given ban from her current home by court.
Is Asbo an Anti-Social Behaviour Order? Didn't know what it was, and that wikipedia entry showed up on google. If it is, that's pretty kick [wagon]. I wish we had something like that in the states. Being able to lock people up because they're douchebags?... Sounds pretty amazing. :

Study help
I need quiet or silence when I'm doing my hw or studying, but I don't mind it if my roommates are making background noise. (tv, music, etc) But if I play music, I'll start singing along and I won't get anything done. :P

Clay Aiken was never really 'in' the closet... He was one of the most flamboyant guys around, and everyone knew he was gay like the second he was on American Idol (2003). :P

The 700 Billion Dollar Bailout- write to your congressman
Without the bailout another depression would be starting right now. Rather than learning about the 1930's, you'd be experiencing it. We were on a razors edge and the bailout saved us. Just today, my econ prof was telling us about his friend who worked in the pits (don't remember what they were called, but banks would lend money to each other overnight) and no money was moving. Banks were so scared of what could happen they didn't trust each other with money overnight. Funnily enough, he was also talking about people like you, who think the bailout was a complete mistake and that the company's should burn for their mistakes, when you have no idea what could've happened.

PETA wants Ben & Jerrys to use human breast milk
They're uncomfortable when they're full of milk, but they only produce it when they have babies to feed. So, they're constantly pregnant so they produce milk, which I can't imagine is very pleasant. Yea, that's one of the better points PETA has. Milk really doesn't do much for us; it's not all that healthy for us and it doesn't provide us with any nutrients that we can't get anywhere else.

PETA wants Ben & Jerrys to use human breast milk
Ya know, PETA has a few good ideas, but when they do stupid [cabbage] like this, it just completely obliterates their credibility. If they just backed off a little and tried taking baby steps they might actually change the world for the better. As long as they do stuff like this, though, it's just gonna get worse and they'll get more extreme because no one listens to them. -.-

Uses for change...
Yea, basically. I don't get why people don't take their change after they pay for stuff, especially if they're already getting bills back. It's still money. ;)

What's your Family Guy moment?
"I've got a brilliant idea Lois, so incredible that my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about." One of my favorite episodes is the stroke one, though. I don't think I stop laughing during it.

Men With Sexist Views Earn More
Haha... definitely thought it said sexiest, not sexist. But I wonder how many of those men are married. I doubt any self respecting woman would date them. TBH, I'd rather have less money and not die alone than vice versa.

Riddle #3
Music can skip, and the differing pitches create roller coaster-like lines. You can find it in nature, or you can find it in someone's voice. We all like it. You can write music. Fancy restaurants have background music, and girls like it when you play music for them.[/hide] Ahh... that makes sense. I thought it was words, but they didn't fit with the dinner plate line. Makes sense now... lol

Brother Says He Was Stabbed Over Hot Pocket Sandwich
hehe, who remembers that kid who shot his sister in the face over a bag of chips? That's what came to my mind when I clicked this. lol The kid's a genius tbh, by stabbing his brother he ensured a lifetime supply of hot pockets. No one's ever gonna argue with him when he asks for their hot pocket. :P

Sarah Palin's Email Hacked. McCain camp to investigate.
Like I said, it hasn't got much to do with "estimates". It has to do with the refining and transportation of oil, and the price per barrel. When the hurricane struck, it hit oil refineries hard. There was then a shortage of workers/places of operation to refine the oil, transport it, and distribute it, so therefore the prices went up. It was estimated, it's simple cause and effect. That would be true, except for the fact that Ike stayed away from refineries. Gas prices went up because of everyone saying they were going to, and oil companies took advantage of that. And, actually, saruman is exactly right about why gas prices go up. All it is is speculation on the oil companies part. Each day, a very small amount of gas is consumed compared to the supply we have. But if the consumption is greater/less than the day before, prices are raised/lowered speculating that the trend will stay the same. However, I don't think that drilling in Alaska would lower the prices. Even though companies will know that oil is eventually coming, their greed will control them, and prices will stay the same or only lower a few cents because not enough oil is entering the market. I don't think they have a problem profiting from guessing, but they want to maximize their profit.

Sarah Palin's Email Hacked. McCain camp to investigate.
When was he tortured? I failed in hearing about this. Then should you really be talking [cabbage] about him? Show of hands, who else didn't know? I swear to god all these pre teens shouing Obama I bet never watched the conventions, and won't watch the debates. And if anything, that would mean to vote McCain, he has way more experience. And I laugh when I see all you guys yelling for Obama, when you don't know any of his policies. Like those who are gonna vote for him to lower gas prices. Nice, that's Palin's goal, if McCain becomes president, gas will fall. I mean, it's perfectly fine if you vote Obama, because that's your choice. Just know what he stands for first. Alaska won't lower prices. Edit: Really the only thing, IMO, that will lower the prices is the gov't stepping in and stopping the gouging. Gasoline is being traded at about $2.50/gal, there's absolutely no reason for stations to be charging $4.00 or more. 50 of course being five years below the average age of previous Presidents, and 72 being 17 years above the average. Obama would be the fifth youngest President, while McCain would be the oldest by ~2 years. Well, all I'm saying is age shouldn't matter. McCain isn't a wheezing, blood-coughing old man. Obama isn't in diapers. Well, seeing that nearly all presidents have been re-elected for a second term, I think age does matter. A lot can happen in 8 years, and I don't feel like having our president die and have our VP come into power when the biggest seat that she had before was the governor of Alaska.

Sarah Palin's Email Hacked. McCain camp to investigate.
I don't see why they need to involve the FBI or SS. Kinda over the top... I also find it deliciously ironic that the gov't likes to spy on people and invade their privacy and then it happens to the VP nominee. That'll do Anon, that'll do.

I got offered a pretty amazing job, i'm lost though.
Yeah, if you go into college without a plan on what you want to do. For me college is definitely NOT over-rated at all. I'm studying to become a history teacher and college is the only way to become one. And another thing, I'm pretty damn sure that college is more expensive than your $20,000 estimate. I'm at St. Cloud State (a public university) and I pay nearly $13,000 per year with room and board. Not to be an [wagon], but I don't think anyone who is still in high school has a place telling others what college is like. If you know what you want to do, and it requires college, then you're right, college isn't overrated. But if you don't know, and you're planning on going to college to piss around for a couple years trying to figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life, it's overrated. If you're not sure, it's OK to take a year off, or go do something like this. Society hammers it into students' brains that after high school they have to go to college, when it could be a big waste of time and an even bigger waste of money. BTW, college prices vary pretty widely. A couple of my friends are going to University at Buffalo which is about $4,000/yr, and I'm about 15 min away at Canisius paying about $35,000/yr.
