I got offered a pretty amazing job, i'm lost though.
Take it. College is overrated, and all that'll happen after it is you'll be deeper in debt and offered a [cabbage]tier job. Take the risk, you only live once, might as well enjoy it. Edit: Also, you should talk to your girlfriend about it, but I wouldn't really make any decision based on what she thinks. I get that you've been together for 3 years, but the chances that you'll be together for the rest of your life are slim to none. IMO, with HS relationships, it's not a question of if they're going to end, but when.

My past 6 months. *lots of pics, not for 56k*
Why did you go? I've always wanted to kinda drop off the map for like a year and just wander the globe lol. Dunno if that's what your intentions were. And I dunno if Pier 39 is like 'the' pier to go to if you're in SF, but it's so strange cause I just went to Cali like two months ago, and when we were in San Fran, we spent a day on Pier 39. How did you like Alcatraz? We went there too and I thought it was pretty amazing. I would've rather had a person give us a tour, but an audio one was still cool. :

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
You've not seen the commercials? "CELEBRATE HOMOSEXUALITY" or using characters like spongebob to promote homosexuality in children (we are family organization). And then there's the people that try to promote homosexuality to make money off of it. as said before, despicable. I just spent like 15 minutes trying to track down that organization and the video and after I read this article, it seems to me like an overly conservative Christian group is just bored and needs a hobby to fill their time. After I watched the video, I realized I was right. There was about 2 seconds of SpongeBob, and one probably wouldn't even notice him if they weren't looking. And I was searching for some kind of hidden message to turn kids gay, but I didn't find one. TBH, I think the only "despicable" one here is you.

Stress Relief?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this way. Sleeping and eating are two of the biggest time wasters. It'd be so much easier if we could go without them. -.- OT: I'm also one of those people who eat their feelings. After a bad day, an oreo shake from BK or a spoonful of peanut butter makes me feel so much better. I'm not fat though, I swear. :anxious:

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
I don't really think I'm going against you, but I just read this article and there was a theory in what makes people gay. I thought it was pretty interesting and explained things well. Especially in the case of twins. [hide=]Instead of looking for a gay gene, they stress that they are looking for several genes that cause either attraction to men or attraction to women. Those same genes would work one way in heterosexual women and another way in homosexual men. The UCLA lab is examining how these genes might be turned "up" or "down." It's not a question of what genes you have, but rather which ones you use, says Bocklandt. "I have the genes in my body to make a vagina and carry a baby, but I don't use them, because I am a man." In studying the genes of gay sheep, for example, he's found some that are turned "way up" compared with the straight rams. The lab is also testing an intriguing theory involving imprinted genes. Normally, we have two copies of every gene, one from each parent, and both copies work. They're identical, so it doesn't matter which copy comes from which parent. But with imprinted genes, that does matter. Although both copies are physically there, one copy - either from the mom or the dad - is blocked from working. Think of an airplane with an engine on each wing, except one of the engines is shut down. A recent Duke University study suggests humans have hundreds of imprinted genes, including one on the X chromosome that previous research has tied to sexual orientation. With imprinted genes, there is no backup engine. So if there's something atypical in the copy from mom, the copy from dad cannot be turned on. The UCLA lab is now collecting DNA from identical twins in which one twin is straight and the other is gay. Because the twins begin as genetic clones, if a gene is imprinted in one twin, it will be in the other twin as well. Normally, as the fetuses are developing, each time a cell divides, the DNA separates and makes a copy of itself, replicating all kinds of genetic information. It's a complicated but incredibly accurate process. But the coding to keep the backup engine shut down on an imprinted gene is less accurate. So how might imprinted genes help explain why one identical twin would be straight and the other gay? Say there's an imprinted gene for attraction to females, and there's something atypical in the copy the twin brothers get from mom. As all that replicating is going on, the imprinting (to keep the copy from dad shut down) proceeds as expected in one twin, and he ends up gay. But somehow with his brother, the coding for the imprinting is lost, and rather than remain shut down, the fuel flows to fire up the backup engine from dad. And that twin turns out to be straight.[/hide]

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
I'm going to have to say it is wrong... But.. What people do in the privacy of their own home, is no one's business but their own. As mentioned above, in human nature, we are attracted to the opposite sex. You hear a lot more males saying they have a girlfriend rather than a boyfriend, and probably if you were to ever say anything about it in school, your life would never be the same. I'm also going to have to say that it is freedom of expression, so people are allowed to do what they want, I just don't agree with it. Especially how you hear on the radio discussion that Hallmark is going to start making Gay marriage cards... Imagine a little kid were to ever pick up a card like that some day. How would the parents be able to explain that to a 6 year old. And another thing is that 'I kissed a girl' song. that is just one of the most sickest songs.. Again, what if a little kid were to ever ask: "Girls kiss girls?" How would you be able to explain that? No, it's in YOUR nature to like the opposite sex. It's in MY nature to like the same sex. "Freedom of expression" is wearing a black shirt. It's not who you are, your desires, your sexuality. It's not YOU. And how would it be difficult to explain gay weddings or the I Kissed a Girl song to children? The beauty of a child's mind is that a simple "sometimes girls fall in love with girls aren't interested in boys (and vice versa)" will do.

New New Nano
Yea, I realize that the amount of artists that live like that are few and far between, but he's making it seem like the people that are pirating their music are practically stealing food from their tables. Really the only music that is easily available online is from big artists, ones who have already made it. Pirates aren't keeping garage bands from getting started, they're just minutely lowering big band's profits. And one could argue that file sharing has actually helped some bands. Someone might not want to spend $10 on their album, but if they download it (and like it) it could lead to future concert tickets/merch sales.

New New Nano
What the heck do you mean Lol? In case you were not aware, downloading a track of music without paying for it from a website (ie. Limewire) is ripping from the artist. Stealing, in other words. And in case you were also not aware, stealing can get you convicted by the police, which probably means imprisonment. Yes, because how horrible would it be if artists couldn't have houses like this? They're barely surviving as it is. Not to mention that cds are the only source of revenue for them, it's not like they make any money from live shows, merchandise, etc.

Do They Really Work?
I tend to ignore most infomercial-esqe commercials, but for some reason I always watch the ShamWOW one when it's on. It's like looking at a train wreck, don't wanna stare but you can't look away lol. The one thing that really sticks out in my head about it is that ridiculous headset that he's wearing. It's just so [developmentally delayed]ed looking and there's absolutely NO point to it in the commercial, other than to make him look like a [bleep]tard. Every time I see that headset I just wanna punch the guy in the face, it's so obnoxious. But I can't stop watching, I love to hate it.

Government conspiracies
/end thread Edit: HOWEVER, I do think that the gov't took what happened on 9/11 and used it for things they wanted, claiming it was to stop the terrorists. The Patriot Act was actually written long before 9/11, they just knew that it would be impossible to get it passed, seeing as how it violates so many basic rights. Post 9/11, they knew that our fear would get the better of us, and that as long as they told us it was to 'protect' us, we wouldn't say anything as it was passed. There's dozens of other examples, but I don't have all day lol.

Job interview tomorrow, got any tips?
Dude! I've worked at a Tim Horton's for like 1.5 years. Course, they aren't as widespread in the states as they are in Canada, but they're around. :P I really love it tbh, the customers can be [cabbage]ty, but most likely the employees will be loads of fun. I've made tons of friends through work, and actually become better friends with others. Anyway.. for your interview, dress kinda nice, and I would recommend keeping your hands folded and in your lap during the interview. You'll get nervous and you won't even notice that you'll start talking with them.. excessively. If you're asked a question that you really need time to think about, so you don't put your foot in your mouth or something, think for a second then say "That's a good question." You'll both awkwardly chuckle and you'll have bought a little time. :) And if you can't remember anything else, remember this: RELAX. You want to do a good job, but you aren't interviewing for the CEO of the corporation, so really as long as you seem halfway kind and intelligent, you'll probably get the job. Good luck!

I haven't really followed the discussion here at all, but I found this video and I didn't see it posted, so I wanted to stick it here. Clicky It's nice to see some form of media that isn't completely biased. :

Street Racing
... Have you ever actually driven a car? And no, your 12 hours of experience in Mario Kart don't count. Yes I have driven a car and DO own a license. Now please, enlighten me as to the complicity of street racing. I'd really like to know. EDIT: Since it's been almost 20 minutes without a reply, I'll just assume those were petty insults coming from those who don't have a clue of what they were trying to prove. Ever hear of something called OFFLINE? OT: I've never raced, but I've done some tricks and stuff with my car and I gotta say, biggest. Rush. EVER. Definitely wanna try racing sometime, seems pretty sweet IMO.

the $100 laptop
Uhh... the whole point of these laptops is for education. Education is what breaks the line of poverty, not food or healthcare. Think about it. With education, you can get a job and be self-reliant. With these laptops, you could be educated much more easily. And I'm sure this organization knows who they're giving the laptops too. These people who live in poverty are not total idiots and are willing to learn you know. I'm actually thinking of donating 100 dollars to this organization. Yea, but it's hard to get a job and earn a living if you die of starvation or malaria. And, in case you didn't know this, it IS possible to learn without computers. People have done it before, probably even your parents, unthinkable as it is. It's a nice thought, but I'd much rather see the money go towards feeding these people or establishing schools, hospitals, etc. This kinda reminds when the pope sent crates and crates of BIBLES to Ethiopia. He probably meant well, but there are so many more things they need first.

Google releases Google Chrome
I feel like with a name like Google Chrome it should be a very sleek and sexy browser. And it's basically the opposite. At least it's just the beta. I have faith in you, Google. :

Chain Letters
I don't mind chain emails so much because it's easy to spot them from the subject. 'Fw:Fw:Fw:Fw:Fw:Fw:Fw:...' I never even bother reading them. What I really hate is chain texts. I really hate when my phone goes off at 2am and it's some random person sending me a [cabbage] story about a girl who died. I hope whoever invented chain texts dies a painful death. -.-

Currently Reading
I liked Animal Farm. Most of the people in my class didnt though. It was a very good book. Yea, that happened in my class, too. Most people thought it was stupid or pointless, but I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a great book. It was such a short read, too. I remember I read it in like two or three days. haha Currently, I've gotten hooked on the Twilight Saga. I finished New Moon a couple days ago, and I'm really looking forward to Eclipse. I don't know when I'll be able to get anywhere to buy it, though, which is kinda depressing. I'm really kicking myself for not buying the other two when I picked up Eclipse. Damn you, past self... Damn you!

So, the singer from my favorite band emailed me..
Never really heard of them (then again I'm kinda out of the christian music scene), but it's pretty cool that he e-mailed you. Kinda chips away at my image of celebrities that are self centered [puncture]s that only care about you spending money on them. Edit: Ha, on their website, under the FAQs, there's "Will you marry me?" Made me laugh. :

How do you read a thread?
That's basically what I do.. Sometimes I surprise myself when I start reading a thread and (all of a sudden) it'll be 10 pages later and 20 min will be gone. Oh well, if it's interesting, it's worth it. :
