  1. No. Runescape is a game where death means something, in most other MMORPGs when you die there's hardly any penalty. Unless players get more hit points then we won't see extremely strong monsters for a while. There's also the fact that monsters can not have more than 255hp due to the way it's been assigned, the only way to get around this is with a KQ-esque boss. Mith dragons and the GWD bosses are pretty "strong" and some of the toughest monsters in the game. As I said you won't be getting bosses much stronger than the GWD ones unless there's a change in the gameplay mechanics invovling player stats.
  2. What are you talking about? If anything Sun would be more likely to add java support to the wii (If it's Sun that has to do it and not opera/nintendo) due to the fact that Sun are effectivly "at war" with Microsoft. Can you please learn to type correctly and once you've done that don't spout random rubbish that you have no idea what you're talking about. Thanks.
  3. Skills are constantly becoming "Easier". For example I got my 99 range a long time ago now and now it's become a lot easier due to the chinchompas. It does annoy me a bit that I spent hours upon hours getting 99 range and putting a lot of effort in to it and now people can get it a lot quicker than I did.
  4. Back from when there was no Dragon scimitar I believe dragon long wasn't even used for training by a lot of people instead they opted for a mystic battle staff. Of course against "Stronger" monsters dragon long was better but there wasn't really a wide range of monsters like we had today, slayer wasn't even around back then so most people used battle staves and killed things such as earth warriors. Then when dragon scimitar did come out (Note: NOT with monkey madness, it infact came out quite a bit later) it became the most used weapon due to it being a lot quicker for training than both Dragon long and Mystic battle staves. Dragon scimitar is better than dragon long in most cases where you're training and of course abyssal whip outclasses the dragon scimitar.
  5. You do realize that 133MiB is bigger than 128MB Yeah, it's higher. However, you should also realize that 133MiB is the full extent of the Wii's hardware, including that which it uses for graphics, internal processes, etc. That's why I say it'll be difficult to port it in. its not hard disk space... its just its temp. memory that needs to be above 128mb... (my pc runs on 2000mb) Well done for pointing something else that everyone was talking about anyway! I can't see one place someone talked about hard drive space in the people you quoted... :wall: I also highly highly doubt Jagex would make a Wii Version of Runescape due to the fact that Nintendo have a rubbish online plan. Based on what Nintendo are doing at the moment they'd never introduce an MMO that relies on talking to other people and such. If this was Microsoft/Sony then we might stand a chance but no way in hell would it work with Nintendo's stupid thoughts about online. So the ONLY way you'll be able to play Runescape on the wii is if Sun/Opera/Nintendo or whoever needs to do it brings Java to the wii and even then as stated hundreds of times in this thread I doubt the Wii has the correct system requirements to even play the game very efficiently.
  6. Yes, that is due to the Wii Opera Internet Browser not supporting Java.
  7. This thread made me head hurt. About 80% of the people in here have NO idea what they're talking about and are just spurting rubbish like it's fact. 1) Wii has SOME flash support, it's a little bit outdated now though so can't run everything but it can run the fast majority of web based flash websites such as Youtube. 2) Java support for the Wii, it could very well happen if Nintendo will allow it. Java is pretty much everywhere, almost every device uses it in some shape or form. For example most mobile phones, freeview boxes and certain things within your car all have java. So java for the wii isn't a wild idea and they probably are working on it. 3) World of Warcraft will never come out for anything else, just because someone said the Wii has a hard drive (Which it doesn't) that doesn't mean the game can come out for the Wii, not only is it's flash memory far too small for the game I doubt it'd even be able to run given the Wii's specs, of course they could port it but that'd involve having to change the game code and thus make making updates to it completly different to the PC version of the game and thus making it impossible to contact 99% of the gaming world, a very bad move on Blizzard's part if they were to do such a thing. Just because Runescape will be playable due to it being browser based doesn't mean every game under the sun could be ported. Think I had more comments to make but can't remember them as of now. To summarise: Yes, when Java support eventually comes out for the Wii's Opera based Internet channel we should be able to play Runescape on Wii, although probably not very well even on low detail due to the Wii's low system memory.
  8. It's not a question on if it works or not, it does work. It's a question if it's worth it or not. As someone else has mentioned in this thread using something like a warrior ring makes you kill monsters quicker. If RoW gives a 10% better chance of a rare drop and warrior ring makes you kill them 10% faster which is best? Personally I'd go for a warrior ring, you get MORE drops which if you pick up stackables will add up and not to mention the extra experience you'd get in the same amount of time. This is why, in my opinion ring of wealth is useless if you're meleeing. Range and mage are a different story in my opinion, although I've never really used an archer ring or a seers ring.
  9. What you could do is go to the memberlist and search for that user then go through all their posts until you find the topic. Just got to hope they're not the type of person that spams a bunch of crap on the general forums, but those people generally don't have topics worth reading anyway!
  10. I've had to cancel my membership as my internet at university is a bunch of crap and they're forcing me to pay ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã130 just so I can play runescape online, don't need any of the other features I get with that. And am wondering if my kingdom will still collect while I'm f2p? I have enough money in there to last the time I'll be f2p for (Got the max amount in the there) and it would be nice to get a few weeks more supplies while I try and resolve my internet issues. Thanks to those who help.
  11. You may also receive them as drops from a number of beasts around RuneScape (ankou in the Stronghold of Security, for instance). From the Runescape knowledge base page on battlestaves. http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... le_id=1854
  12. They've done multiple updates to 2hs actualy. Atleast two, maybe three. Can't remember a single update to any other weapon type (Default ones anyway)
  13. Technically Lunar is most useful with the spellbook change spell but as I'm not 96 magic nor have I done the second quest in the series (can't remember what it's called now...) I generally stick to normal spellbook.
  14. I know a couple of famous people who play some other online games, not Runescape though. What is annoying though is multiple times people have thought I'm someone famous just because I share the same name as him (Middle name included too). Only some Brits will know who this is though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Tindall I don't mind people asking me I'm him, what I don't like though is people calling me a liar when I say that's my name when I never even pretend to be him :wall:
  15. Jagex do need to go through player wearable items and update them though as the vast majority of them are outdated compared to what NPCs have. Would be a HUGE update though as they'd have to change the animations of a lot of items to make them look better too, but it's an update that does need to be done.
  16. This, Cooking Gaunts do NOT effect anything else, only those above "fish". Question I'd like to know the answer to, what has a bigger effect, stoves or gauntlets. I believe it'd go like this. Fire < Range < Lumbridge Range < Fire + Gaunts < Range + Gaunts < Lumbridge range + Gaunts
  17. Poll lacks a "I don't use quest guides" option. Quests are a lot more fun doing them without a guide.
  18. Lol so if I get a left half as a drop, I should just leave it on the ground, since it's literally worth nothing anyway. But pretty much everyone will pick it up anyway. Really strange... I remember when dragon squares were worth 5.5m. :( That's not even that long ago. Both of my shield halves came when they are 6M+, first one at 7.5M second at 6M. Haven't had one for a long long time now.
  19. I also have not received a reply as of yet. Which is always a good thing!
  20. Shared loot sounds horrid. I'm assuming if you have it enabled EVERYONE in the clan chat channel will have a chance to get the drop... what if the person just died and it's their drop but they're obviously not there to see it and the others have to teleport... seems a waste to me. And at like Dagannoth Kings you have people seperated into two groups usualy, going to have to split into two chat channels so you don't have to run half way accross the room to almost certain death just to pick up an item is stupid. Of course it's optional but it just seems VERY pointless to me. Infinite stock will most likely things are more expensive when buying from shops, which depending on how they adjust it could make prices of runes etc. drop outside of shops making it impossible to sell things. Edgeville update - Fine, not even a big area though just a little village and one "dungeon" if you can call Evil Dave's house that, this is the kind of update you'd expect along with some "content" Quest sounds meh, although it sounds like a puzzle quest which are my favourite type. Be interesting to see what the reward is though. Overall not a very good month at all, only thing to "interest" me there is the Quest, the other three "updates" appear to add absolutely nothing at all to the game.
  21. then I'm not sure if I read this right, but it looks fishy to me. His downfall, but I do like his theory as a possbility though. *sigh* my PROOF, far be it for me to define a word is thus: i was a big slayer fan ages ago and killed everything from skeletons to jogres, however i never got a lesser demon task. i must have killed a tleast 500 of each monster, but the first lesser demon task i got yielded a scroll. that seemed fishy, so i thought id attempt the minigame and kill some hill giants, after 600 or so hill giants i didn't get a scroll, however, killing a skeleton on the way to vanakka got me a skeleton scroll. as you can see Ive done RESEARCH, but i don't have HARD NUMBERS, there is a difference. What about people who killed THOUSANDS of monsters then got a scroll? That pretty much means you're wrong. Oh and there's the fact that Jagex have said that the theory IS NOT true.
  22. This theory was said to be false by Jagex. They're just rare drops, that's it, nothing more.
  23. You sure it's both? I know the melee body guard is counted as a Greater demon, I'd have thought the Mage (Balfrug) would be a black demon while the ranger would be a lesser demon.
  24. I did something similiar a while ago and got tried to get every drop within the slayer dungeon. I gave up after killing basilisks for a couple of hours without a stupid hat, I swear they don't drop them as I'm pretty sure I've NEVER had one :wall:
