God dungeon - Was it all planned ages ago?
DarkDude replied to leebrave's topic in General Discussion
Of course they planned it, they don't make an update in a day. The original idea for it probably came a year or two back and it's taken that long to sort things out and with other projects which have come first. -
"27 July 2004 - Please report bugs you find!" would certainly suggest that they do. Well based on that I'm sure they log things like levels gained, quests competed ect, but I highly doubt they log every single click and keystroke. Besides, in that case all they had to do was look at the players questpoints which were probably over 350  When I was talking to Paul the other day about a similar bug in the newest quest he said he was surprised that the server didn't flag anything, he also that the glitch was meant to have been fixed and when the servers are updated the error reports are cleared. Also, in the case of this quest, you did not get multiple quest points, just the reward multiple times.

But there's already someone representing range (Second from right)
-
But how can they test us when two of their questions are "wrong"?
-
The people as i see them from left to right: 1) Hair Style + Symbol = Monk = Prayer 2) Brown Apron + Hammer = Crafting + Smithing 3) Rouge outfit - Theiving 4) Leaf bladed spear, no idea! - Possibly slayer, or hunter. 5) Chef - Cooking 6) Warrior - Combat 7) Skeletal amour + Goblin crossbow - Mage? Apparently not, not range either... 8) Farmer - Farming 9) Seercull + Spined armour = Ranger 10) Fishing 4) and 7) are the only ones that really cause a problem, 2) to a certain extent to.

When you finish the poll and get the new page it says "Anchovy is the only one you need both level 1 fishing and cooking for" ;)
-
I'm sure many of you have seen this week's poll on the Runescape site, The Runescape Quiz. If you've finished it you may or may not have noticed some mistakes in it, I'll hide it though incase people want to solve it themselves. [hide]On Question 2, it says you need level 1 fishing and cooking for anchovies when you really need level 15 fishing to fish them, makes the question a tad more difficult than "easy" On question 6 where it asks which skill is NOT represented, the answer of which is apparently Magic. But correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't one of the people wearing Skeletal armour? The magic armour from Waterbirth Island[/hide] I wonder if it was one of the more experienced mods who wrote this quiz (I sure hope not!) or one of the newer ones. I don't see how they expect us to get them all right if they don't even have them right themselves!

It would be better if more than 10% of the acheivements had something to do with varrock. Making addy helms etc. can be done anywhere, why does it have to be assisated with varrock? -

Killed the things and got myself a sceptre, decided to do it before the dungeon was packed. Then I realised I needed 70 farming, so I've quit. None of the tasks are "hard" and you can tell they were running out of ideas when one of the tasks is to regain your gloves from the family crest. Reward seems good if the mine multiple ores isn't confined to the area. -
Manners, is there such a thing within this game?
DarkDude replied to DarkDude's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, so don't whine about it one day, when someone doesnt kick the ball out. And I know very well where karma comes from. I was calling her a hippie. There are a lot of complaints when the ball isn't kicked out and it leads to a goal because it's the normal that if someone is down injured you kick the ball out so he can get treatment. The "normal" for Runescape is that if a spot is taken by someone then you change/move until you find an empty spot. -

We didn't really try and get them killed, if they want to kill the boss monsters they can freely do so, me and my friend just stood out of the way so they could experience what we have to put up with when fighting them and not when you're "leaching" off someone elses effort. It was more the thing that me and my friend put the effort into getting to the bosses and setting it up so we can kill them easily and freely, then two people come in and can start leaching off the work me and my friend have done without any real danager to themselves. If they want to kill the boss monsters, then they should do it correctly and not do it with a bunch of random people. We didn't really mind the ranger much though, he just stood there and didn't get hurt at all, without prayer on either which was a bit annoying but if anything he helped us out. -
They do, no idea how though and they won't give out how they do otherwise people would be able to get around it.

1) I did change servers, I don't see what your point is there, everyone seems to be ignoring that fact. 2) I play this game for own personal enjoyment too, now why should I have to put up with my personal enjoyment ruined by someone else? -

If the way you want to play contradicts the way that other jerk wants to, then him > you in his book, you're gonna lose. People nowadays don't care if they're being jerks, as long as they get what they want, then it doesn't matter if you're happy. It's been like that for 2-3 years, better get used to it. Plus, it takes like a minute to switch worlds. Why don't you just hop? problem solved. I did change servers, twice. Three times actualy as the first time I changed someone was already killing the mages on that server, so guess what I did? I *shock* changed server again and found an empty one  Then keep hopping and eventually *shock* you'll find an empty world. Then why couldn't the other people have done that? How do you know they didn't? Or why couldn't you just keep on going until you find an empty world, and if someone comes, ask them to leave. If they don't, you leave. Simple enough. You seem to be the only one who doesn't get it... Now, if you could read you'd have realised that's exactly what happened =D> -

In my six years of playing I do not recall once where I have taken other people's monsters, I always change if other people are at a certain monster. To FooK-A-Ji: Why shouldn't the rules of the "real world" apply to an online video game? Afterall, the fact that the game is played with other real people suggests that it should be. I'll use an example from a topic a couple of weeks back. If you were playing basketball in real life on a public area, but there was another free court right next to you and a bunch of people came along and started playing your court wouldn't you be annoyed? The same thing can be applied to this situation, just replace court with spiritual mages. I'm at the mages killing them, then someone comes along where there's a bunch more mages in the dungeon and loads of other worlds free but they still choose to stick around. What's the diffrence between the two examples? There isn't any difference, in both examples you're trying to enjoy something and someone else is coming along and ruining the experience when they can see that there's plenty of opportunity to be able to do what they're doing elsewhere without disrupting someone else? Fine, if all other mages were taken on the server, but they were not. I don't mind sharing as long as it's reasonable to do so. And on your cartoon comment, you act like cartoons can't be enjoyed by more mature people, you sound like one of those people that says video games are for kids when they clearly aren't, they're to be enjoyed by all ages. And for your information, I'm 18 and I often get mistaken for being quite a bit older than I actualy am. I have no idea where you got the I'm immature thing from. Yeah, I guess complaining about other people not behaving like people should behave is immature now... -

I think it's fair enough that I get annoyed at someone else stopping my enjoyment by stopping me play the game how I see fit, and that is playing the game with manners and realising that the other PEOPLE that are playing are that, PEOPLE. So obvious that you're just mad that you can't get the exp you expected you'd get, before another player logged in. Get over it, as someone else said. What you're saying is is that it's fine for them to play the game the way they want to, but I'm not allowed to play it the way I want? Seems fair to me! -

Trade logs, time spent playing and a few other things are recorded. I don't understand what you're asking though, I doubt they can see "Right, he clicked here, then here, then he pressed h, then he teleported to trollheim" etc.

If you get enjoyment out of annoying other people then there's something seriously wrong with you that goes far beyond a game. -

No, that sounds more like an IRL situation, not Runescape. Most times people are what you call "rude", because they simply don't care about the other player, and why should they ?Its a game . As mentioned in the first post, they 2 people were obviously a much higher level, giving them an advantage to begin with, so why in the heck should they leave, when they are practically forcing out the smaller player just by being there. Now that might be harsh, but thats just the way it is. Actualy, I'm level 120 so the 110 wasn't higher than me. "Other players" are people too, so why should you not have manners? It may be an online game but that doesn't give people the right to be rude towards other REAL people does it? It's a mentality like that which these people most likely have and I bet you they wouldn't even try to do such a thing in real life, so why the hell should they do it in a game?
