  1. Again, Jagex didn't write it. It's a republication from the Tip.It Clan Chronicle. Does nobody read anything nowadays? Is that the cool thing to do now? I don't play active anymore, so I miss lots of the tip.it chronicles and the such. It's right at the top of the Dev Blog... it says right there. Do people just ignore the first couple of paragraphs or something? Honestly I don't get it. You read the article yet don't read the first two paragraphs?
  2. It's awesome that Jagex are using content from Fansites (especially Tip.It) for things like this. Hopefully this'll get more people interested in things like the Clan Chronicle and the Tip.It Times.
  3. That's not how it works, frosts will have them too. It's called the RARE drop table for a reason. Maybe the herb drops should be nerfed a bit (maybe to max out at 100 or 75, but no lower). There's a reason it seems to only be those 3 herb types that were added. Maybe to bring them more in line with the other herbs in the game?
  4. But can you tell me the reason for this change now? like how are the steels from yesterday different from the steels of today that they should drop 2m an hour more? And it's not only about the new drops, it's good that they are adding those, but really, nothing in the game so far dropped more than 1 torstol at a time, now steels drop 160? come on, it's just not balanced at all. You don't get balance at all, do you? tip: Riding a bicycle on your head is not smart. I'm all for new drops and new drop tables, as long as they are balanced(which, evidently, they aren't). As others have stated I've yet to see proof of this 150+ torstol drop you're claiming, the number I've heard was 78 and don't think I've heard higher than 100 which isn't a bad number. And remember, prices will drop because of this. You would be complaining if they added drops such as 50 soul runes or 50 firelighters or whatever complaining they're too crap and shouldn't have added them. Yet when Jagex add good drops you complain too (this isn't directed only at you, more in general btw). The old rare drop table was outdated, they've updated it and made rare drops appealing once more and not "God damn, 150 steel arrows again, rarer than whip!" like it was before this. It's now "Cool, 500 big bones, worth a decent amount so while it may be rarer than whip it's still a good drop" or even "Awesome! I just got 100 torstols!". Now can I question to you why you think that's a bad thing?
  5. used to be worth alot? so should we all be trading left halves for partyhats now? I don't understand how the prices of items 5-6 years ago matter now, when those items have been utter garbage for so long. What is the logic behind dragon legs being 500k and steels now dropping 8m worth of torstols? Like, how was there a change necessary? The point was, no one complained before when there were drops worth MORE THAN party hats from almost every monster in the game. Why does Jagex updating that now to make monsters have a chance of dropping good things once more a bad thing? They're updating the game. The price of the old drops has decreased so they add new drops. Simply concept really.
  6. 5k goal is 1.5M, that's not a huge amount. The items in the rare drop table used to be worth a lot. Dragon Spear was >1M, Shield left half was 7.5M, dragon med 2.4M (and higher). This was when 1M was a lot more than it was today.
  7. It's not 500k-2m extra an hour. In two slayer tasks (Nechs/Ice Strykewyrms) I didn't get anything noticeable from drops, certainly nothing more than 40k (dragon dagger, 150 rune arrows, uncut dragonstone). These are new drops added to the rare drop table, along with the noted herbs, coal drops, that skull and whatever else they've added in. More variety in drops is only a good thing and I honestly don't understand why people are complaining. You do NOT need the ring to get these new drops, they work exactly the same way as the old rare table worked (except they also boost the chance of slayer specific drops and boss drops too now apparently).
  8. How do you know? Can you link me to the related survey? All I see here (as well as on the RSOF) are a couple of people gleefully trolling the masses of pissed-off people who are "jelly" about the whole sigil/torstol business. The number of people who benefited/lost out from the glitch? Less than 1k most likely. The number of people that did other stuff during that 1 hour much more than 1k.
  9. Number of people they'd have pissed off by rolling back would have been more than the number pissed off by not.
  10. New rare drop table. That's what all these drops are on. Don't NEED a RoW for them, just helps.
  11. The sigil thing has been fixed. Torstols are pushing it I agree but everything else seems reasonable and I imagine Jagex wanted to lower the prices of certain herbs (snaps, toadflax and torstols) and this should do a good job at that.
  12. They fixed noted insane drops too didn't they? Most likely is on purpose and not a bug. Better than the 150 steel arrows and 200 silver ores we got before (which at the time were decent drops). None of these drops are huge and just add more variety when killing things which can only be good. 5k coal is what, 1.5M? A decent amount but nothing huge.
  13. Game has been up too long so no chance. They need to shut it down asap or hotfix it. Maybe make it impossible to get to corp if it's going to take a while to fix. It's been like an hour. That is a huge amount of time when you consider the number of players. That's over 50k game hours, numerous other things have entered the game within that time. If it was within the first 15 minutes and it was a bigger bug (effected more people with more abusing it) then yes a roll back might be needed.

  15. I'm getting the message about the ring of wealth after *every* kill at nechs. Saying it's shining more brightly.
  16. Got 150 rune arrows instead of 42 as a drop from nechs, interesting :o
  17. Made 7M flipping ring of wealths, would have been more but I sold them a bit too cheap I discovered at first (Could have made about an extra 3M or so). Not bad for 2 minutes work though :P. Buying uncharged 75k ea, selling charged 150k ea.
  18. That was obvious though, I don't see why people were thinking they'd be the same thing.
  19. Also got a level 3 clue (doing now) and an effigy, the first effigy I managed to complete by myself! Yay!
  20. You are correct, yet people think they know better for some reason. They've been recruiting for a "New MMO" for a few months now which I imagine is this. While obviously there's people who worked on RuneScape now working on Transformers it's not like Jagex have gone "Ok, all stop RuneScape development, lets all go to Transformers!". The development of this game will have little to no impact on RuneScape.
  21. Different development teams. Of course that would require you using common sense and just posting crap with no basis to it other than trying to be the cool kid in bashing Jagex. http://www.jagex.com/careers#/vacancies Look there, they're recruiting for 3 different projects. Stellar Dawn, RuneScape and "New MMO". They are completely separate teams working on each game (just like how FunOrb development was separate from RuneScape's).
  22. A lot of gaming sites are linking it to RuneScape though when mentioning this announcement. But yes, this is huge publicity for Jagex and it wouldn't surprise me if we see a decent increase in new players over the coming weeks based on this announcement. It doesn't even have to be an amazing game for them to profit hugely from this (and I don't mean profit in terms of money, although I guess indirectly they will). But of course if it is a good game that'll help too :P.
