  1. Stuck as in, just superficially on other peoples friends list, or actually just standing there, getting killed, then standing in lumby some more type of stuck? The world have crashed, nothing is happening on them, the worlds can't even send a logout packet to let the other worlds know you're logged out so you still appear online. The games will be rolled back to the last save before the server crashed, not something done on purpose. With regards to dungeoneering binds being lost, fairly sure Jagex give those back if you lose them. Someone mentioned it here before, not sure how you'd go about contacting them (bug report maybe?) but I've heard that they do it. There've been multiple bind crashes now. They have yet to restore binds. If you lose your binds in a server crash, you're [bleep]ed. Fairly sure they gave people their binds back from when the servers went down a couple of weeks ago.

  3. There seems to be a lot of worlds crashing tonight and problems with servers, 51, 54 and 10 went down earlier I believe. When worlds crash your character is "stuck" on there but not actually active, there'll likely be a small rollback too.
  4. Got an effigy that task too.
  5. Just looking through my old videos. This one is over 3 years old now, some of those drops/clues are probably 7 years old (That dragon med with me in blue hides isn't too far off that). It's a shame to think just how much some of those drops used to be worth and considered good.
  6. Finally 2.2k skill total :). Almost all skills over 1 million now too which is awesome. Don't really have any goals in mind at the moment, although levelling my skills to the point where I can clear out my 70 effigies I have banked is certainly a target!
  7. Just 3 levels off 2.2k too, should hopefully get that tomorrow. Won't have any chaotic weapons until 85-86 as already spent a bunch of points (have about 68k or so atm).
  8. You're voting to be able to fight them again. In what way? No one knows. But you're still voting for which you'd like to fight again.
  9. That's bloody awesome, well done.
  10. Well... if "none of them" gets more votes than "any of them", that's the only situation when I think democracy should cause none of them appear. Except you have no idea what they're planning on use them for. For all we know it's only a small part of a much larger update. It's a bad sad that option is winning though, but without context I guess it's hard to vote. On top of that people don't understand these are the lower level bosses and thus voted for none most likely.
  11. The "bogus" bans and such started AFTER the spam/bad posts happened. Yes the bans probably shouldn't have happened but that doesn't mean the users are entirely blameless. The situation was escalating before any bans were put into place, the bans didn't help at all and definitely fuelled the problem and no one is claiming that they didn't. The point I was making is that the resolutions you're seeing this morning would have occurred last night if it had not been for the spam and all the drama that was caused by several users continually posting troll topics, coming in on proxied accounts, posting porn and the like. Yes the underlying cause has equal blame on the users and the staff, but that's not what I was saying. I was one of the first to admit we had screwed up (although not using those exact words). I have not been entirely happy with some moderator decisions here recently (with regards to some users still being around etc.) and if I was involved in the discussion then none of those bans would have taken place and the guide would probably have been removed. The problem was after the bans did take place we were swamped with people spamming, meaning we didn't have time to actually deal with those problems and rectify them, instead having to deal with the things I've already mentioned. I apologise for anything I have said which could have taken in a negative way. As I said I was really hopeful of a solution to this with regards to the problems with the forums and discussions on it and had purposely avoided the "drama" as much as possible. Some of posts last night may have bit a bit harsh, although I still stand by the "content" of the posts in them, and I apologise for that. It was just increased frustration that the situation had got to the level it had done with not a lot being done to stop it.
  12. Yes, it's actually possible to do things now that the forums aren't being constantly spammed. Nothing has changed about what we do. We were just too busy having to deal with all the crap from last night that we couldn't actually come to any sort of resolution. Spending over four hours last night having to clean up a mess and babysit a situation which I was not directly involved in is not fun. None of the moderation decisions in this whole thing were down to me, I've admitted I didn't agree with all the bans for the individual posts. I said I thought the guide should have probably been removed. I said we weren't blameless. Yet I was completely lynched, those parts of my posts were ignored, I was misquoted. I was actually the one who was most behind the changes, I tried to find a solution while bickering was going on. I stayed out of the moderation with regards to bans and fall out over bladewing's ban until last night when that thread got out of hand. Since then I've answered every query regarding it, explained everything I can. This whole situation could have been avoided if the user involved didn't have to resolve to spamming and trolling to try and get their point across. They're the ones who have delayed any action being taken. So yeah, these things that are happening now could have happened a lot earlier if we didn't have to deal with all the crap over the past 12 hours or so.
  13. I don't have a link at hand, I saw it mentioned in a thread here the other day but they did not post a source. I'm sure it's around somewhere and I do know that they are doing it after having heard from others.
  14. I imagine it's impossible to track items across the GE. Traded person to person yes, not across the GE. Also, can you give me some examples of these other games that apparently do this? I'd love to see them, especially as they are of course just as complex as RuneScape and as economy focused so that this can be directly compared. Jagex are giving dungeoneering binds back when they're lost, which is fair enough as that's almost like a completely separate game. With the items being untradable and thus not having a value there's no harm done in giving them back unlike with giving "real" items back.
  15. We would probably have something similar up about now. You can blame all the people who have got themselves banned tonight and continue to continually cause problems as to why it's not been sorted yet.
  16. He was asked politely multiple times to not post in the manner he was posting in and continued to do so. What do this say about him? To me it says he doesn't respect the people who maintain this website for no benefit of their own and then let people use it for free. Wait, so are you openly admitting to claiming ownership of his guide out of SPITE? C'mon, Mike, that's absurd and you know it. We're not claiming ownership of his guide. We're claiming ownership over the post and its contents on our forums. Regardless, spite has nothing to do with it. I'm just pointing out that it's a bit hypocritical to expect us to respect someone's requests when they failed to do so for ourselves. Should the guide have been removed? Probably. But coming in with "You're not respecting his request" is a weak argument.
  17. H&A- Infuriating to give good advice, it needs some form of quality control AoW- Same thing, much of it is poor or out of date, it needs quality control And both of these issues have been discussed along with other points raised. The fact that I've had to spend several hours tonight babysitting the forums to make sure that any of the pointless spam and offensive posts are gone instead of working more on those solutions isn't a good one.
  18. Really? Like I needed any more incentive. Goodbye because you seemed to go out of your way there... But as TIF is a community, I'm interested in hearing the community's opinion on these recent events. What are your thoughts? How did I go out of my way? He posted a spam thread, a thread that is not allowed on these forums. I locked it. It's my job as an admin on these boards. I didn't go out of my way to do anything. My role as a Player Mod is entirely different to my role as an admin here and it's a ludicrous comparison you're trying to make.
  19. He was asked politely multiple times to not post in the manner he was posting in and continued to do so. What do this say about him? To me it says he doesn't respect the people who maintain this website for no benefit of their own and then let people use it for free. What does that have to do with not removing his content when asked? Make up your mind, were his posts detrimental to TIF or do you find them beneficial? Surely if he was that bad you'd leap at the chance to take down something that horrible troll posted. He didn't respect our requests, why should we be expected to respect his? He had several warnings that his posting style was not acceptable, he did not listen to those warnings and thus ignored our requests.
  20. Popularity has nothing to do with being a good moderator.
  21. He was asked politely multiple times to not post in the manner he was posting in and continued to do so. What do this say about him? To me it says he doesn't respect the people who maintain this website for no benefit of their own and then let people use it for free.
  22. Have you heard of the term "probation". Clearly the person would be popular for a reason anyway. Seemingly bladewing is "popular" that doesn't mean he would make a great mod at all. Also, before you start insulting members of the moderation team you should know that just a couple of weeks before bladewing was banned Jimmy sent him a PM asking him what was up as he'd noticed that his attitude seemed to have changed recently. I assume Bladewing didn't mention this though did he? I don't know what the correspondence between the two of them were other than this but he was offering to help bladewing to try and avoid him getting banned if he continued posting the way he did. Unfortunately that's exactly what ended up happening.
  23. Nope, it doesn't. Either users get noticed based on their posts and contributions to the community or when we have applications people apply then we look at their previous history on the forums and judge on that. When I joined staff I didn't know anyone on the team and no one that's joined since have I been friends with. While it's not uncommon for someone to be friends with a staff member before they join no one will ever get in because of that as it's irrelevant to if they'd do a good job or so.
  24. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying. For someone who complained about posts being taken out of context you sure do a good job yourself. We're only learning from our very models, sir. I also like how you ignored my requests to show me examples of where those quotes I apparently took out of context would be perfectly acceptable in context. It's been what, an hour now? And I'm still waiting.
  25. Because then the person with the most friends will get to moderate everyone. Fantastic idea.
