Buckminsterfullerene isn't a cure or a medicine... A little research and I found this... http://www.springerlink.com/content/x173320447088351/ In the abstract section.
  2. Didn't they sacrafice people to thier sun gods etc? Or was that the Aztecs? :ohnoes:
  3. Awesome dude, great insight. I'll have to admit I'm a little bit impressied with the surface computing vid. Especially when he took the picture, put it on the table and just flicked it into his phone. Lol, cool.
  4. Make a myspace and upload your stuff. I'll be your critic. :P
  5. I'd rather know things and have money to pay someone else to operate machines to do the dirty work than not and strugle to exist like other species.
  6. I too would find it hilarious if it weren't so profoundly meaningless and counter productive. The energy used to type those words could have been used to laugh more at Paris Hilton!
  7. It was a pretty simple hypothetical. I wasn't asking for any proof or attacking your opinion; just trying to find out what it actually is. Whatever mate, you've just answered in a way better than you could have if you had remained level headed. I don't care if you have a different opinion to me. I was just trying to make a discussion for the purposes of finding out what others think. If you get all defensive as you have and think I'm trying to [bleep] with your opinions or beliefs, it shows clearly how well formulated or steadfast in the face of scruitiny they are.
  8. From memory I asked if you think it's ok, not what would you do. Is assisted suicide ok in this situation?
  9. You didn't answer my question, what's your basis for it? I'll admit that I value a human's life over an animal's but why does that mean we shouldn't work towards better conditions and the removal of injustice for both? Let me ask you.. what if it was your future daughter? Just sit and think about it.. your her guardian.. her parent. Its up to you to keep her safe and protect her. But theives come in and take her, and constantly being to [assault] her, eventually becoming a slave. Would you still think about animal rights? ~Defender~ How was that answering his question? It's just using your own emotionally charged outlook to avoid it and come back to something you think will sway him. I think it's obvious no one would wish your hypothetical on anyone and if it happened to one of us, we'd be dead keen to see the ordeal over. Does that mean we have to be anti-cow militants too? keep pointing fingers warrior, he didn't answer my question either. Mind your own business, this debate is with me and him. Go insult someone else on this topic. Yes Or No Assasin? ~Defender~ You are truly rediculous. He asked you a question first, which you so ever conveniently ignored.

Is it not at all possible to be both? Is it not at all possible to value human life so keenly as you do and OMG *also* value a somewhat humane treatment of animals?
  11. Truth with a capital T. It's clear as a blood-soaked bed sheet to me. :-w
  12. Out of interest, what's your ethical basis for valueing a human's life over an animal's? Speciesism? Are you saying you wouldn't protest over cruelty to animals? When your getting rapped the next 10 years, don't blame me that i'm at the anti-cow prevention meeting. After all, every rapist girl needs her burger in frys. ~Defender~ Try and make sense when you post. That would be super. Anti-cow prevention meeting... so you're preventing people being anti-cow and at the same time you don't want people defending cows in this thread ever again? And rapist girls need thier burgur and fries. I'm sure all those kidnapped girls work up an appetite doing all that raping. Again, a bit more sense out of your posts would be great.
  13. You serious? I thought Lovelydude was a little brash... I think you should take this bs elsewhere. I do share your sentiment, just no where near as militantly.
  14. Sometimes cops get it wrong but let me speak on behalf of people. Yes, I'll speak on behalf of my race. I'd rather we have them than not. Fair call?
  15. that put a smile on my face  I didn't want to sound like a sadist but I was going to say the same thing. Meh, sadism it is. I feel happy seeing her pain and distress. She needs a reality check.
  16. Read my hypothetical from 3 posts up. Would you think it's ok then?
  17. Is it that wrong to try and put things into perspective or prioritise? I'm sure he's not annoyed with what they are fighting for per se, he's just making a comparison to show how inhumane we are to ourselves.
  18. I must say although I didn't know that this specific thing was happening, I was in no way surprised. You do raise a good comparison between those campaigning for animal rights when our our own are being treated worse.
  19. Humans also have a will to remove and avoid any pain. I wouldn't call people mentally i'll if they have 24 hour a day pain and have thoughts about relinquishing it.
  20. I feel exactly the same way. And Kevorkian practices assisted suicide, convincing his patients that it's the best way. He's a maniac. What if a patient was the one doing the convincing, i.e. they seriously wanted to die. Not ok? Suicidal thoughts are often associated with depression. They may have wanted to seriously die when they were depressed, but what if they weren't? Assisted suicide is like a nurse asking an alzheimer (sp?) patient to make him her guardian or whatever, telling him/her to sign the form for no apparent reason and the patient is in no right frame of mind anymore (like later stages of alzheimers). A patient suffering with severe depression would seem to have a hellish life and the patient would want to make an irrational decision such as suicide. You're supposed to show them that suicide isn't the "way out" and that what the patient needs is LIFE. Instead, you're wanting to do a half-assed job and go ahead and "put the patient out of his/her misery" and come up with a seemingly good reason such as "Oh he DESERVES peace, doesn't he? Then, why not we give him eternal rest and let him get what he wants?" I was just talking in hypothetics. Don't let emotion run your argument. Here, I'll refine the hypothetical situation for you. Would assisted suicide be ok if: 1) A person had a severe nerve or muscle disease which caused constant pain yet restriced, if any, general muscle movement (meaning they can't possibly kill themselves). 2) They could talk and were certain they wanted to die. 3) It was evident that they were in a clear state of mind with no depression. 4) No one was pressuring them into any descision. Ok or still absolutely not from your perspective?

I applaud you for that. It's not easy being an adversary, so to speak, of the biggest religion on the planet. Actually it is pretty easy, it's just that some people jump to conclusions because they are afraid.
  23. That's it. Pretty simple, really.
  24. Just an example, folks. It's [developmentally delayed] though. The new sis covering HER story about getting 40 days in jail or whatever, and is actually going off about the sentence being 'wrong'..when at the same time, we have a war going on in a foreign country with many people DYING daily. Yes, I'm tired of Paris Hilton and the media in general.   I feel your example, however farcical, is actually a morbidly accuracte depiction of American pop culture. Try to mask real issues with 15 second throw away meaningless crap that wont mean anything the next day. Eveyone has the attention span of a fish when it comes to pop culture.
