  1. Your next slayer assigment will yield enough green charms as "side drops". Just continue killing the monsters you were before, almost all popular training monsters drop them.
  2. I considered my SS an upgrade from my dragon scimitar + defender. I get equal or better exp/hour with it. Note that this is only for strength training. If you have the money, get a SS. If you dont, keep your scimitar + defender. The differences are not THAT great.
  3. Collecting secondary ingredients for herblore can provide a nice income. Popular ingredients such as snape grass are in demand, and are easily collected. Also tanning green dragon hides is an easy way to earn money. If you want to do something that gives xp, try farming. Herbs like toadflax, snapdragon and kwuarm are profitable, and when you grow marigolds as well in the flower patches, its pretty good money, even if you buy the seeds.
  4. For fast slayer xp (yet somewhat costly) you can connon them under the lighthouse. The dagganoths in the choas tunnels are my favorites (better drops) but they cannot be cannoned.
  5. Buying mith and getting coal from MTK I think. When you buy everything in the GE, I think theres still a small loss. Changing GE prices make the difference between a small profit or a small loss per bar.
  6. I heard string amulet is great too if you have Lunar. One click = 25 or so auto casts. Im not sure how much xp/hr it is, but it is as great (or better) when combined with crafting as making air orbs + air b staves. I just used my sapphires recently to make gold amulets. Now to string-all them, then I sell them to the rogue trader. Crafting my own runes will only increase my yield even more. I said yield because when I say profit in these forums, people beat opportunity cost in my face within 5 sec. Im aware of that, so spare your keyboard/fingers.
  7. Charm hunting on CAGED greaters? Isn't that WAY expensive, telegrabbing all charms + loosing all your ammo?
  8. It's in a steady declin for over a long time. Eventually it will stabilise, but for the 6 months or so that i have it, I lost a few 100k. Not a big deal, since I used it frequently.
  9. If you have the money lying around, buy one. I like it a lot. It has offensive bonuses (nice!) and extra defense is also good. Youll get hit a lot less, saving food/inventory space and faster kills ->double gain! Since you cant use a defender at green dragons, I think it is it the best choice. But if you have to sell your whole bank in order to get it, the trusty duke-shield will do, especially with your stats
  10. When I first got members, I rushed through all available/area unlocking quests as fast as possible. I wanted to get them done asap, their requirements gave me something to train for. In retrospect, I find it a shame that I didnt try to do it myself. On the other hand, some quests were VERY hard (MEP2) and they coused me enough trouble as it was even WITH a guide. New quests I do without a guide, unless I get stuck. In that case, I ask any fellow-questers available, of refer to the tip.it topic. When a reward screenie is posted, Im curious about it, but it only gives me more of a stimulans to get it done! As a side note, Darkness of Hollowvale was also very hard, and I used a guide to get me through the maze. Im not a great quester, obviously
  11. Kill the ones in the choas tunnels. They are like a 10 sec walk from edgeville. Buyips for healing, take some emergency food if you feel like it, but I think you don't need it. I like to kill them with a SS, since they seem weak to crush. Just a personal preference, though and an excuse to use that high-priced toy to train my strength ;) Of course, rock hammer is mandatory. I also take a super set,or enhanced excalibur for specs.
  12. Not to forget the Elenium and Tamuli series. The later work shows decline. Ik liked the Redemption of Althalus, but the Younger God series were bad. I also like Terry Goodkind's "Sword of Truth" Series. Read a fair share of Grisham, Clancy, and some English classics like "1984", "animal farm" (nice) and "a brave new world" amongst others. I'm now reading into the "Dwarves" series, forgot the writher's name, but he's German. Never even read LoTR, I find it too....well...thick. Tolkien writes 3 pages long about surroundings, where he could have done in 3 sentences. I like a quicker/easier read.
  13. Cleaning grimy herbs is the only way to make money using herblore only. It is VERY slow and CTS sensitive. I farm herbs, and buy/gather seconds. snape grass for example, I get at the hobgoblin peninsula + t-bird., killing hobgoblins for limps. Red spiders eggs I get from summoning + scrolls, while alching to regenerate special bar. I buy mort myre fungi, because I find gathering them too slow/annoying. Same for dragon scales. I get a load of potato cacti every time I have a kaphite task, just before I leave. I farm cactus spines and kep bird nests from MTK mainly. All in all, not the fastest, nor cheapest xp, but it keeps me from boredom and/or grinding.
  14. Unless you drink Heiniken in the Netherlands, how can you stand it? As a dutchman, I find Heiniken acceptable when from a bottle (the brown ones). The ones you get abroad (green ones) taste like crap. It's like they collected the waste produced and bottle it in green "waste" bottles, and then shipping them abroad selling them as " premium lager"...ugh. American export beers (like Bud, budweiser) are too bland for my taste. German lagers are generally nice (Warsteiner) and I like Tuborg and Karlsberg as well. Not to be patriottic, but here in the Netherlands we brew some mighty fine beers, like Grolsch, Brand and of course the finest of them all (in my opinion, anyway), Hertog Jan (=translated: Duke John) I'm not much into liquor, I only like sweet stuff, but you get too drunk too fast too expensive. I'm not into Whiskey or stuff like theat, it all tastes like white spirit (not that I tried drinking white spirit) in my opinion.
  15. This seems about right. I read that mining profit goes from Runite Ore to Gold Ore, and last Adamantite ore. There are a few places to mine it though. I know you can try the "Horse Shoe" on Brimhaven or the Gold Ore mine that you travel to in that one dwarf quest, i forgot which. You mean the Arzinian mines. Only with an unlocked ring of Charos, alse the dwarf rips you off even more charging an outrageous amount for banking the ores.
  16. Yes. As usual, all depends on luck, but I heard people saying they got one after 100 normal ones (the lucky b*stards), and some claiming not having one after several thousands.
  17. As stated: whip + defender is best xp most of the time. For certain tasks, like gargoyles and waterfiends, you'll want a good crush attack weapon -> SS.
  18. Bad example: We have blood banks now, and waiting to grow his own blood would take so long, that the man in question would have died long before it was ready. We do not HAVE millions of stem cells readily available. Anyway: I'm in favor of all stem cell research. Aborted fetuses are no good source for stem cells, and they are rarely use (reason posted before, only 10 day old fetusses could be used). Usually, scientists use umbilical stem cells, or embyos that are "left over" from IVF treatments. Stem cell treatment can not determine eye color, hair color or whatever. Its main use is to repair/restore damaged/lost organs. This ultimate goal will not be reached (at large scale) in another 20 years or so, most likely (if at all) much later. The Bush administration had not helped a bit. reverting adult stem cells to embryonic ones is possible, but not on a large scale, it is more expensive, risky (in terms of failure) and they will never become as available as normal ones. All the Bush administration did was waisting precious money and time that was invested in "working a way around legislation". Good riddance, see you not-later, Bush boy!
  19. Just go up stairs and kill the elf there. it is close to an altar, saves you from running too far. Get maxed ranged bonus, use all prayer you can/need. You could also go at the ground floor. Higher level elves, more hp->more xp. Further away from the altar, though.
  20. Providing I have the budget, I'd choose smithing or crafting. Fletching an dcooking are a bit too common, might as wel get a "respected" cape, whatever that means. I think any 99 is an achevement anyway, since I have none yet after about 4,5 years of play. I don't have the patience for agility and mining. WC is bearable.
  21. Daily herb run: Start at bank: Cabbage port -> herb + marigolds ectophial -> herb + marigolds (optional: Troll heim tele if i have valuble seeds) Camelot (+seers headband) -> get daily 120 flax -> herb + marigold -> fruit tree./pick cocnuts Trees: From catherby -> Varrock tele + v armour3 to get b staffs -> tree at Varrock castle Run to GE-> spirit tree -> tree gnome village ->fruit tree Spirit tree -> gnome stronghold -> fruit tree + tree Teleport to Falador -> tree + run to dduid village -> tree Crystal to LLeyta ->fruit tree
  22. Depending on budget: Fletching, cooking (cheap) but a lot of people have them Herblore, crafting (more expensive) Construction, smithing (very expensive) Depending on time: RC (LOOOONG) woodcutting Agility mining Those are nice ones IMO.
  23. I'd say go for speed. You'll get a nice inventory of herbs from a task, be quick and done with it. I tried to melee the tougher ones (i thought to get some nice exp) but ended up praying as I needed a lot of food. I don't know about any safe spots, but if they are there, you might range/mage them. I never tried that.
  24. Since you are not a pure in any way, you can do whatever you like at any given time. When I like to kill stuff I train slayer. It makes some money, but not a lot. When I feel like making money using skills I woodcut, farm ar fish/cook. It's really up to you, do the activity you actually ENJOY!
  25. Zaniks crossbow can use bolts up to adamant, IIRC. Isn't broad
