What to train combat on - take drops into consideration.
transcript80 replied to boelie's topic in Help and Advice
What's so bad about ice warriors? I train there sometimes, and I fight almost exclusively ice warriors. Yet I get excellent results. The OP want to have bones as well. Ice warriors do not drop bones, Ice giants do. Also, Ice warriors are tougher, especially at his/her levels. -
I'm into some ranged slayer training on short notice, and I'm wondering how good Zaniks crossbow is compared to the normal rune one. Is has -12 ranged bonus compared to rune, but it had a special (IIRC). I intend to use broad bolts, or mithrill ones (e) or regulars. Any advice?

In the defence section, you should add the excalibur sword. Its special raises defence, not sure on how much. After completing the seers diary, you can have it enchanted by the lady of the lake, making it better, and heal you some 30-odd hp.. also, the dragonn battle axe special raises attack and strength by a certain percentage.

The reason the above poster mentioned: 2 systems co-existing is more error-prone. Metric is more logical. US will never convert, UK is slowly converting. Best is to go cold-turkey-ish. Prepare long time in advance, set a date (e.g. 1-1-2010) and change it all. We had to change our entire currency from our former type to the euro. Yes, it was hell. Yes, older people still convert to our previous currency. (price inflation is not an issue going from imperial->metric, but is was heavy when we converted to the euro). But in the long tem (20years or so) everybody gets used to it, no harm done. Just stay put with it.

DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THE SALVE AMMY! It is simply too good for fighting undead. Go there one more time, sock up on salve shards (inventory) so you NEVER have to do it again.

They were sold to the charter boat people, which paid generous sums.. Jagex changes the prices to be GE value-> not worth it.

Get yourself some varrock armour 3. This allows you to buy 64 battle staffs a day from Zaff. I do this every day, and I find it hard to keep up with "battle staving" so I end up selling some of them. I hate alching them, but I want the mage exp and liquidating the work I did myself, so I don't plonk them in the GE. This is maybe a better choice then alching, though. I'm staving my way to 80 too, almost there.
-
Depending on what you intend to gather yourself. If you want to buy all components, you'll have to take a loss. Gathering logs yourself makes a profit, but then again you could have sold the logs for more money. The aforementioned maple longs (u) are a decent option if you need junk. I wouldn't count on a good junk-removing feature with the quest, it will be mediocre at best in my opinion. Else, fletching will be the money generating skill it once was.
-
do you WANT to cook them (and be in the top 500?). Do you need an extra 5M for something in particular (armour, weapon, skill investment)? If you don't: xp>gp in my opinion.
-
I make them all myself. Buy 64 battle staves each day for a few week, gives you a nice stock. If you dontfeel like using them, sell them on the GE and make some profit. In those same weeks, collect sand and seaweed every day, to stock up. Goin to Lunar Island, bank for pouches and pure essence, craft some astrals as I spelbook swap. Super glass make in bank, until I'm out of components. Go back to altar with pouches and essence, craft astrals and switch back to normal spells. Teleport to edgeville, equip air staff, inv is 27 molten galss + pipe, make orbs. Withdraw 81 cosmics, go to obelisk and charge the orbs. I kill some druids for a good herb (ranarr+) to fill inventory, tele edgeville and bank/craft b staves. Actually, the boring part is the alching. I can't stand doing over 200 alchs at a time. This is not the most efficient, but to me the most fun to level crafting. I've been doing it since I was able to make air b staves till now (almost lvl 80) and it nets me some great income.

My question would be: how do you get masses of them? I have 1 palm tree in Catherby that I include in my farming runs ->12 cocnuts a day (2 farm runs). I'm saving them for later on in herblore, but w/e. I ahve over 1k of them, but it's taken me over a year to collect them (roughly).

I really liked TNG -> First saw it in some re-run. Later, I saw TOS, found it dumb. It was just...too old. Now, I see the charm of that good ol'e TV series. But I liked Picard over Kirk. Kirk is too much of a renegade, loose cannon for me. I like Picard for being the tactician, military mastermind. Of course, my favorite race entered in TNG, the Borg. They ABSOLUTELY rule. Enjoyed the "Q" episodes as well. Later, I saw "Voyager". I hated it at first, skipped it after 3 episodes. Then it got in re-run, got addicted, saw practically every episode, most of them twice. I really don't like the latest star trek version, and I didn't like DS9. DS9 was more a soap series in space IMO.

I have no piercings, tattoos or anything. My GF has earrings, that's it. Since my body is "perfect" by nature \ , I have no need to "decorate it". I don't car what others do to their body, its theirs to keep or decorate/mutilate. Apart from the common "earrings" (that are pioercings of the ear lobe, but they are usually not called that way) I have never seen anyone with a piercing which made me think:"Hey! God looking!" Belly button piercings are so-so, but especially lip rings (or other piercings) I find not attractive. Also tongue piercings I find unattractive, plus they ruin your teeth. Nose piercings look cheap to me, bull rings look barbaric. Not even going into "intimate spot" piercings, a real turnoff, or more extreme ones like studs. YUCK. Not to mention the PAIN from getting them "down there" . But hey, to each his own, it's your choice.

Cannon works miracles. Support with melee, pray mage. Costly, but fast. I do them at the statue (not in the dungeon) because it is a little bit less hectic. In the dungeon you'll get faster kills.

At lower levels, the spider that can spawn red spider eggs with its scrolls can make you a profit. The granite crab forages low level fish (+ boosts fishing level->more efficient fishing = money too!) that couls make up for the amount it costs. (not sure). I know this is the case for Ibis pouches later on. The amount of swordfish it forages makes up for cost + some, since its 2nd ingredient (harpoon) is only 5 gp. Bunyips sell, (maybe profit) but they are a bit out of your range for now. As always, the more you gather yourself, the less it costs. For example, I mined iron or in the Piscatoris mine on my way to the summoning obelisk. XP + saving gp = good for me! To each his own. Others will point out opportunity cost, but that is no fun to me. As stated before, you might want to invest in blowing through the first levels, I think 5M for 1-50 is feasable. GL!

I have no explanation, but wearing the fremmy boots from the achievement diary speeds up getting your approval rate.

Make sure you use super compost always on allotment. It increases crop yield, which is where xp and money is. Super compost also decreases the chance that your crops get diseased or die, but if you pay a farmer that chance is 0.

Coming to grips on my anger, and how to control and focus it
transcript80 replied to Powman3's topic in Off-Topic
Seek professional help. Really. Talk about your problem with your parents, they might be able to help you. As your parent's they'll try and help you in any way they can. Do not rely on self-help. As you stated, you're afraid you might get physical on somebody, making you a potential threat (I do not mean to exaggerate) for your friend. Get help before it is to late, having lost your friends or even worse. -
IMO, 99 slayer is very respectable, so keep on slaying. As for target levels, 83 is good for spiritual mages, and of course 85 for abyssal demons. Mages are actually better then demons, since they drop boots more then demons drop whips. Overall, better money. I'm currently aiming for 90, but I hear the dark beast isn't all that great. Still...going strong towards that 99.....

spicy stew (luck based, you should have enough spices for several tries, +/- 6 levels max). I'm not sure which spice you need, I think yellow but I'm not sure. The poison chalice can also randomly boost stats, but it is even more luck-based then spicy stews, not really an option.

Check wether you did all quests that give farming or herblore xp as a reward, else do them. In addition of previous advice, do herb rund ever 1,5 hour or so. Plant you highest possible herb, it adds up when doing herblore.I always start my RS session with a gerb run, and also end it with one, so that I can start fresh at the patch when I log in again. The fact that the tool leprechaun now notes your yields make this even easier.
-
I doubt you can make 500k+ per hour spinning flax... The suggested methods do not give any xp, though.... You might want crafting xp, but well...up to you!
-
Well, running herb secondaries is good money, for example snape grass or mort myre fungi. There is a lot of demand for those by herblorists, they sell fast. Tanning dragon hide is also fast, heard of 600k/hour, but never did it myself since I find it boring. Bottom line: fast cash -> boredom. Mosty, fun stuff at your level does not earn you vast amounts of gp fast.

Sticking to my Goal. *Updated with new question*
transcript80 replied to gorgoroth's topic in Help and Advice
Make sure you set yourself some realistic goals. Seeing you need about 2k trips to get 99 hp.well that alone would make me depressed. Do as the above poster said, go on slaying, when you are fed up with it, sell stuff you want to get rid off and see your reward. It might help to break the goal up in smaller amounts, going from 40-odd hunter to 99 is ridiculous imo, try getting to for example 50, or to the level required to hunt red chinchompas, or anything really. -
Steel dragons Skeletal wyverns Other 2 are open. I have had only once the warped terror birds (before "smoking kills") i skip hell hound (got them twice, befoer "smoking kills") so when I get annoyed with some monster I have 2 empty slots.
