At last.... Sense! From a fellow Dutchman, I might add  To all of the people saying AIDS is a population control: You would talk differently if it were to happen to you, your loved ones or anybody else in your "inner circle". You talk disgustingly. AIDS will wipe out an ENTIRE generation in Africa, and you say:"meh, population control is necessary" ? Education is the key here! AIDS is a miserable disease. Zombie scenarios? Super -virus? To all self-acclaimed "virologists" here : this is unlikely, if not impossible. Same odds as the afore mentioned large hadron collider. Please don't sound like an a** and make sure you'll get your facts right. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about, and rely on gut feelings, movie "facts" and other urban legends to form your opinion. On topic. As stated, this is just a small trial with promising results. I mean, 13 patients? That's hardly statistical evidence. This need to be studied on larger scale, and the success rate ("some of the patients had no virus left") needs to be dramatically increased. Also, one of the suspected long term side effects of exposure to mutagens could be cancer, or something else. Of course, this need to be investigated further.

When you grow willow trees, make sure to harvest branches (use secateurs on tree): they can be sold for a nice sum, thus reducing your seed costs further.

Using super compost yields farming xp, increases crop yield and decreases the chance of the produce getting diseased. It has NO effect on grow times. If you pay farmers for trees and bushes, don't bother with super compost, it has no effect.

Monster Drops and Money Making for a Self-Sufficient Player
transcript80 replied to Sinkhan's topic in Help and Advice
I have the same attitude as you! Make things from scratch and ach them for money! Examples: buy battle staves from zaff, seaweed from arhein and sand from Bert (after "hand in the sand"). Craft cosmic runes, make orbs from the glass (make glass with lunar spell super glass make) and enchant the orbs. Make elemental battle staves and alch them with your own natures. Same for green dhide items. Or the above mentioned yew longs. As you seem to enjoy slayer, level it up and get some nice rewards. Still, not the fastest income source, but steady. Thing is: you are making money killing green dragons, but you spend the "money earned" (eg. hides and bones) directly on your skills (prayer, crafting). You could try selling the end product (I make a lot more super attack potions then I can consume), but you'll get less money of course. You can either proceed this way, and never see any "real" gp's or liquify the the goods into gp and do whatever you want with those. -
Most skills COST money to level, here you earn money (quite some) and gain xp. Also, a farming run is like 10 minutes, not an hour, so the money per hour is probably higher.

A basket of oranges sells for more then an orange seed costs... Since baskets are 1 gp.....

I see your point, but gravestones are worthless when you get disconnected. It happened to me a week ago at Wyverns. I lost blessed d'Hide (got them myself from treasure trail!!!) and a few K bolts, but it really annoyed me that when I finally was allowed to log back in, the grave stone was gone, along with all my stuff. Lost close to a mil that day. So dying may be less of a concern, getting disconnectes is still a major deal to me!

Moonclan teleport -> bank -> Ourania teleport -> craft runes
-
First, I stock up on seaweed and sand by buying From Arhein for a certain period of time (2gpea) and talking to Bert for the sand (needs "Hand in the sand", can be done while on lunars. After I have like 1k of each, (can be done earlier or later) I make them into glass, and make them into orbs -> charge them into air orbs -> attach to battle staves bought from Zaff (64 a day, daily routine), and high alch with my own made nature rues.
-
If you range ony: karils, max on range attack bonus. Accumulator, rune x bow and mith/addy (e) bolts. Snakeskin (cheap) or ranger boots (expensive), blessed coif (cheap) or robin (expensive) hat. Inventory: sara brews and super restores in 1:2 ratio, 2 range pots should be about it. Check out the MANY guides in tehe AOW!
-
Fire giants if you can find an empty world. Ogres in King Lathas' training ground -> seeds are quite common and good money. Aviansies -> great drops, but not very fast. Of course, you could make money doing something else, and use it to powertrain with chinchompas or at Yaks.
-
Yes, greens are better since you can kill them faster -> more hides/bones
-
Start slaying. It provides combat xp, herbs, seeds and charms. Start the farming skill, soon enough you'll be able to grow guam, for herblore as well. To start herblore, do the druid ritual quest. To start summoning, do the wolf whistle quest, it's lika a tutorial to summoning. Start slaying by visiting a slayer master. Good luck on members!

The granite lobster requires lvl 74, which he doesn't have.... I used the Ibis at Piscatoris, and emptied it when banking the monkfish. You'll profit using the pouches, get some free xp and fishing SHOULD go a bit faster, since it provides a fishing boost. There are NO reasons not ot use it. You can even make some pouches yourself when you have to recharge your summonning points, since the 2nd ingredient is sold in the Piscatoris general shop. Just for boosting fishing xp, it has little effect, but I guess things add up over time, and all xp you get extra, well, that's just nice.
-
Besides canonning, making sure you get max kills per hour is vital. So pot up, piety flash if you can, waste as little time as possible picking up drops, etc. You'll spend more on pots, cballs ( EXPENSIVE!) but the xp comes a bit faster. It stresses me out to level like that, si I do slayer at a slower pace..

You need to hev done the quest "Kingdom of Miscellania" to start MTK. For maximal efficiency, do "Royal Trouble" as well, it increases the amount of workers. You strat with earning favor from th locals, for examples by chopping maples, or mining coal. Then deposit money in the coffers. Your subject will start gathering resources, which you can choose. This costs money, which will be taken from the coffers. The maximum "wage" for your workers is 10% of what is in your coffers, with an absolute max of 75K a day. Depending on the GE prices of the goods your subjects gather, you make a profit. The best combinations vary with GE prices, I think it is flax and fish now but I'm not sure.

The fun in slayer is the variety of tasks. I have NO monsters black listed. I cancel the odd one task when I don't feel like it at the time. Greaters are...welll...great! They die easily, you can camp there with Guthans, and once the dog go un-agressive after 15 minutes, they are fairly fast. I do Irons, as well, tried maging, but melee is faster. Black dragons I range, or kill babies in CT whle adding some green hides for extra crafting xp. I had Warped Terrorbirds only once, and Burthorped the (before smoking kills), never had them since.
-
Well, prayer is more tedious, offering bones to the altar. Construction can be fairly fast, making oak larders with a butler. Usually, the cost of a skill are calculated ingp/xp, but I don't know the rates.
-
Yes, don't forget marigolds! The reason I use only 3 patches is that 2 of them have a free teleport to them (Falador and Port Phasmathys), and usually I can hold the produce of tose 3 patches in 1 inventory. I bank at Catherby. I find Trollheim to be out of the way, and not worth the 2 laws costing teleport for "low" level seeds like toadflax. When I have High-level/expensive seeds (ranarr, snapdragon and up) I use the Trollheim patch. For the regular toadflax I always use Falador, Port and Catherby. In Catherby I pick my coconuts for the day, buy pineapples to make supercompost and seaweed for glass making every once in a while. I rarely use the Ardougne patch since it is out of the way.
-
If I remember correctly, respawn times of rock roughy correlate to the number of player connected to a server. So a "correct" timer would be very complicted to compose.
-
My opinion exactly.... I find ranged boring and slow too, especially on slayer tasks. I don't like powertraining, so I'm stuck with it. What you should train really depends on your purpose. Do you want to do pvp or bounty hunter? Do you just want to train combat stats, Do you aim for certain levels to go boss hunting? Do you want to make serious money while doing it, or do you just want fast xp? Questions, questions...... I train sayer, which automatically trains my combat stats (mostly melee). To each his own...
-
You can buy a machete either at the Tai Bwo Wannai general store, or in the Shilo village. Of course you can buy them from the GE as well. With an axe and a manchete in your inventory, you can hack away at the jungle plants, and make your way in. There is no designate entrance as such.
-
Since you are in it for the cash, also plant a marigold in the flower patch (4 of them as My Arm's patch has no flower). Seeds are dirt cheap, and grown marigold sell for 3k or so. I know, it has nothinf to do wth herb farming, but I though why not mention it?
-
The only monster I know of droppping blue charms 100% is Bork. You can kill him once a day. Kalphite soldier drop them quite frequently, I got like 8 on my 160 kalphite task. Gargoyles also drop them quite often, about 10 or so per 180 task. As you see, blue charms should not be your focus, unless you want to get 99 summoning in the year 2100. Crimsons are usually regarded as the way to go.
-
They drop blood runes quite frequently, but not too often to make great money of. Good for slayer, so-so for regular training. You can stay there forever with B2P tablets. I found Guthans not very efficient for healing as they used a magic based melee attack. For money, do green dragons or so if you are combat minded. Gathering secondaries for herblore (snape grass for example) or tanning hides are probably better money.
