Duely noted. That is very heavily weighing on my mind. It's very hard to quit something you've devoted so much time to. 5 skills at lvl 99, 5 more skills at or above 90, hours of merchanting and rune mining, I have so much invested in runescape, and now to just walk away because Jagex has proven themselves to be blithering idiots? It's probably the right move, but it's so hard to do. I had such great plans and goals, but this update has smashed them. You can't get 99 smithing without millions of gp. I was working so hard to get the money to buy 99 smithing, but this update is like the death knell of hope. Wake up! This is a game! U are a living person! Runescape is a bunch of PIXELS! Bush is an IDIOT! but seriously: " I was working so hard to get the money to buy 99 smithing" sounds a bit sad to me... "buying" skills is just not my cuppa tea. This game is supposed to be fun, not a life goal. Go out in RL and take a break on this GAME! I admire ambition, but I think you take this too serious. RS should be a game, not a time investment. You should be able to stop at all time. You say you invested so much...aren't you taking this a bit too far? Welcome back into reality, either quit whining, or quit RS!

So... ok, I don't like the new update for reasons allready stated: no more "cheap" F2P ess for upping my RC (just about to get interesting with 44 RC!!!). BUT: I find it striking, that although people are complaining all the time about macroers, the same players appear to have grown dependant on them. I mean, YOU made the market for these macroers by buying/merching cheap F2P ess into the members world (AND making maassive amount of GP!!!)! So stop complaining about the fact that JaGEx finally did something abut your worst foe (autoers), simply because it backfired at you! Since i bought my first k of essence a week ago (just before the update, before I mined all my own raw materials) I don't mind all that much. And I don't mind autoers either. It is I that enjoy playing the game, making my own money by training my skills, and I frankly really don't care how others do it. Personally, I don't find it satisfying buying my D chain with money from scams, autoers and other illegal stuff.

@ Ethiery: the duelling rings I craft, have 8 uses, so it doesn't breakl after just 1 of your runs... In general: when you are high enough levelled, you can go to the law altar on world 66, and do something comparable for laws instead of airs. Since I'm a mere lvl 44 RC-er, it's hearsay, but give it a try. I ran some laws previously... very cheap laws for me!!! The crafters wear zammy robes if I'm correct. When you are willing to take a little bit more of a risk, you can use the Abyss for fast runecrafting. I found it especially usefull for choas and up (doing natures now). And did I mention pouches? At some RC level, oyu can use puches and take more essence into the altar, thus sppeeding up your RC levelling.

perhaps you can include the gadderhammer (obtained from "In aid of the Myreque" quest in there? It is said to OWN shades...

and: with ring of charos you can charge it (2 charges) with a raw bass. They most of the time are lying aroud in catherby. Some people are always dropping them. Then there's me to pick them up! So (apart from the fun) you dont' need the trawler!

don't take the pot with u, drink it when banking. I thought that protection prayer actually PROTECTS from magic.... In that case it would work, without taking the extra spot of the pot in your inventory. Well, I havent been using that prayer a lot...so...yah.

Sooo... all I hear is the fear for PKers when entering the abyss. Why not put on protect from magic prayer? I know that the abyss drains all prayer points, but you can just have 1 dose of prayer pot before entering, and be on your merry way? The only drawback would be the cost of pray pots, I believe they go for a (rediculous) 6k ea, so that would be 1.5K per sip. But when crafting natures (300 ea), it would "cost" you only 5! And no risk of getting killed, and therefor you can use the (very fast) glory method! Besides, you can also take "proper" armour into the abyss against those nasty critters there! I think it is an excellent way of getting your RC up with minimal rist, and still getting a nice profit (although not a HUGE as could be). Tell me how you like this?

I tele, pray and do anything not to get killed! I can so I will. You train strength/attack to kill me, I train magic(tele) and prater not to get killed. May the best trainee (!) win... that'll be me if u can't cast TB on me!!!

I don't like rares. Not because I can't afford them, but because I think they're overrated. Like ppl said before, they don't boost any stats, they're just there for "cosmetic" fun. Their main use nowaydays is merching. And I don't think that's what RS is about. I think it's about leveling, and having fun. I think it is ridiculous that people get scammed or hacked because of an item WORTH (hi-alch) about 100 gp or less!!! Of course, If a phat would appear before my eyes, I would take it and sell it, but that's not the question here. If JaGEx would have intended people to create "stock market-like" items (as are phats and the like now), they would have made a new skill, (and I don't mean carpentry :P ) called merchanting, completed it with a merching guild and everyone would go on his/her merry way... anyway....rares...I don't really care

Haunted mine dor me, but i havent started MM and DT yet... maybe I'm just afraid? :oops: Since i haven't done 2 of the subquests of RfD yet, I can't comment on the ending monsters for it... and I have to get the ice gloves agian, i threw them away :oops:

I'm 26, have been playing for like a year or so. Got introduced by my youger brother. Switched to members 4 month ago... I think the older gamers (partly) counter the offensive younger players. After all (most of us) are more mature, and realise better that RS is a game, a phat is a bunch of pixels, and it's about FUN! Also, we don't worry as much. I just heard about this kid in the Netherlands that killed himself. His RS account being hacked was the last straw. Of course, he had some (serious) issues before. But i think it's really sad that something "stupid" as a mere computer game (which I enjoy a lot!!) provides the final push of kids killing themselves...
