  1. Hmm the figures seem pretty dodgy to me. And I think I've worked out how - it assumes you do cave crawlers to 200m all combat stats and then stop, even if the effigy xp is still faster than the training rate. Thus Skiller 703, with comparatively low combat stats, gets shoved up the list as he gets 7450 effigies covering slayer rc agility and mining. Toony, however, gets just 1100 effigies, meaning that he is put down as training rc, even though for a 200m all skills goal he would be faster continuing at cave crawlers. So his very high combat stats actually INCREASES the amount of time he has left for 200m everything. In other words that spreadsheet is broken atm :P P.S. to make that more emphasised - Drumgun suffers from this too and is out of order on the list - his figure lies between el popo1 and aribiterspar, and only slightly below mine
  2. Hmm... The first article used terminology that I, not being a particularly computer-literate person, didn't understand, but for the most parts it was talking about the effects of increasing the cash/xp limit, which are things that I can understand. :) In that sense it was a very well written and balanced article. Personally I'm in favour of Jagex increasing the xp limit because I don't like the feeling of a skill being "closed off" in a sense by you getting 200m in it. I hadn't thought of the implications for people who play to maximise the bank value though and I agree that it would have a similar effect. The second article is one whose basic premise I agree with and is a point that I have been arguing for for a long time. However I don't see the completionist cape encouraging botting like skill capes did (anyone who wants proof of how skill capes have done this need only look at people botting away at stats like agility above the very low levels). Why not? Mainly because from most players' perspectives the completionist cape wouldnt even be in the picture until after maxing, and a bot maxing is a very rare event indeed. But also because bots thrive off activities that lots of people would want to do that are repetitive. The tasks required for the completionist cape, however, are for the most part non-repetitive things that most bots wouldnt want to do. This means that the bot makers would have a very small market indeed - not enough to justify making a bot for. What about the 5k cwars games? Well that already has a cape for it. So why aren't there already botters there going for that cape? After all, getting the trim is futile if you can't get the cape yet! I know there are people afking for the 5k games after the release of this cape, solely for the cape itself, but such actions are futile and, to be honest, just a bit silly.
  3. When he was training dungeoneering El Popo1 was generally getting 700k-1m xp per day.
  4. And that's of course assuming noone else goes inactive in the meanwhile. Plus it should be the #15 active player, not #15 of everyone, which would be a fair bit lower.
  5. I think they're just private Yes, just private. Maybe he doesn't want to be tempted to return to RS? No. Zarfot said all his vids are now useless because it's not hard to click on a effigy. If he actually believes that then he's pretty silly tbh. Because noone is going to use effigies to train every single skill - after combat stats have been maxed out the xp/hr from effigies plummets, and as the slower stats get finished the benefit of the xp you do get drops as well. Noone is going to use effigies to train firemaking, summoning, thieving etc. etc.
  6. You may well disagree with the content, Amethyst, but I think we all know that my article - regardless of your opinion of the views expressed - is of better written quality than a 12 year old saying "O ye I is well anoyed wiv dis change" and so on. Simply because you disagree with my opinion does not mean that you should descend into vitriolic, petty attacks on the article itself. This forum is intended to be a place for debate, not unsubstantiated, unnecesary derision. The difference is significant; next time, you - and all others who feel it necessary to express their disagreement in the most virulent manner possible- would do well to remember this when posting future comments. Sorry if my post was poorly written. It was written in a hurry and I was just getting out some of the points. But your article was also poorly written. And I'm not saying that because I disagree with it - there have been articles in the past (eg. "The Camelot Dilemma" by Necromagus in January 2nd's [bleep]) that I have disagreed with but which are still well written articles, presenting a well built case for the author's views, including an acknowledgement for the rationale behind arguments that they disagree with. To state an opponent's case and then demonstrate how it is wrong or why you disagree with it is a very effective way of getting your case across. You didn't do this - nowhere in your article was there an acknowledgement of why people like dungeoneering, which a very large number of people do. Instead you simply insulted anyone who liked it and actually something that a lot of people like as a reason why it failed? Summoning was treated in a similar manner, stating only that it is useful in combat, when it is useful for just about every skill in the game, and several other things besides skills too. On the other hand, you didn't acknowledge the flaws in the things you presented in a positive light, such as construction (which, incidentally, was a lot less trained when new than ANY of the skills that have come since). You insult Jagex, calling them "incapable", without any decent evidence to justify this. And then you go into an advert for a skill idea that someone has come up with, which you don't even go fully into the detail of how it would work. You essentially try to combine 2 articles - an analysis of Jagex's skills in the past, and an explanation of how you feel Jagex needs to implement a specific other skill in the future. And in doing so you fail to do justice to either. Oh and that's not to mention your basic level failure of repeatedly using terminology without even explaining what you mean by it (I'm talking of course about breadth v depth). Which means that any reader who does not somehow magically know what you mean by this terminology will struggle to get any of your points in which it is used. Which pretty much means the entire article. It's just about the most fundamental error you can make in fact. And if you think that the above is "vitriolic, petty attacks" yet somehow that your article isn't then I have nothing more to say to you other than that you are wrong. The above is criticism. Nothing petty or (unnecessarily) vitriolic about it. Attacks? Yes. Because a poorly written article deserves to be attacked.
  7. I'm sorry but that second article was the shoddiest one I've ever seen in the [bleep], which I've been reading since 2006. It seems like just a personal gripe, which starts off by hyping up construction (which I agree was a good skill), and then goes on to claim that everything since is worse. Personal opinions on matters were everywhere. Not that that is a bad thing, but when the article consists of nothing but personal opinions without anything to justify them then it isn't a particularly good article; for example stating that "Hunter is a skill which becomes progressively more enjoyable" as a fact - actually I personally found hunter to get less and less enjoyable as I went up - tracking was more fun than catching butterflies which was more fun than falconry which was more fun than catching chinchompas. Yet the article states it as though it is undeniable truth. Summoning added massive amounts to most aspects of the game, yet these were swept under the carpet or ignored completely. All the while throwing unjustified insults at "other updates" that aren't even named, as well as criticising Jagex based on updates in general, which are otherwise ignored by the article. The article even insults anyone who dares to disagree, calling any of the vast number of players who find dungeoneering the most fun aspect of the whole of runescape "shallow", calling the skill "featureless" because it incorporates a lot of features, which is the very thing that people enjoy about it. As for "The original skills ... all had some basis in reality" Really? Because as your article describes everything after construction as going downhill, it seems as though the original skills would be everything before this. So runecrafting. Slayer. Nice basis in reality there. And as if that wasnt enough it then ends in a 3 paragraph long shameless plug for a particular suggestion. Jagex are not "incapable of making something decent". However I am of the opinion that the writer of this article IS. Was there really nothing else to put in this week? Because I don't believe that this could have been chosen over anything. If I wanted to read trash like that I would spend my day on the RS rants forum where other people who just want to slate Jagex for no apparent reason hang out. Although I must admit that the quality of most threads on there is rather higher than that of this article. P.S. There's more wrong with it than that but I don't feel like going on more than I already have.
  8. But efficiency isnt the issue here. The issue is getting masses and masses of xp in a day. And talon beasts give faster xp for the time you are using them so would be better.
  9. Seen as its being so stupidly impossible already, why not do talon beasts instead of geyser titans? :P And incidentally is 64011 really the max slayer points? Because that sounds like a really random number.
  10. I've never been tempted to cheat. I have an extremely strong sense of morality which I rigidly stick to. The downside is that I tend to expect others to stick to the same moral guidelines, which, unfortunately, doesnt tend to happen.
  11. Hopefully I will stop confusing Elvis with Elias now :)
  12. If all the worlds were like w117 on that vid there would probably be about a million less ranarr (and millions less of every other herb) entering the game every day. lol. P.S. apparently the number of them is slightly lower now :)
  13. gl on 200m prayer/agility xp on rsc. :P
  14. That also assumes you never get caught by the monkey.
  15. that was with a different time calculator though, and one that seems to give rather lower time figures than the one you are using now does. :P
  16. They didn't say that. They said they hadnt seen anyone with over a thousand in the thousands of players that they had checked to ensure that it wouldnt have too big an impact on the economy. Yes there were players out there with over a thousand, as the mods soon discovered (whether or not they knew beforehand). :P But they were right in that it didnt have too big an impact on the economy as the total effect of it lasted a whopping 1 day. I think it's fake and if some of the stuff in this thread Quick find code: 14-15-173-62689297 is true then tbh I think jmods WOULD be able to call it out as a fake before even running checks on it. Though I'm no technical expert so can't back them up myself.
  17. Aww when did you change it so you can't join if you arent a meleer (getting stupidly lucky with a hex drop doesnt count)? Guess I'll never dg with you guys then :P I was only wanting to see if I could pick up a few tips lol :P
  18. 0phathead0 - from what I've seen, Dragonseance is not a nice person (so that can't be why you support him), is miles behind the competition (so that can't be either) and isn't catching up either (so nor can that). So why on earth..? As for the farm thing - am I right in thinking that the only reward that is actually worth getting is the pouch repair one?
  19. Superheat - that happened to everyone :P
  20. Powerslaying - nope Runecrafting - effigies - nope Hunting - draconic jadinkos - nope Merching is a risk of cash and he doesn't like to risk. As mentioned before, he is a perfectionist :P Oh damn! So there's no skills left were he makes money?? Flipping isn't really a risk, he's gotta do something like that. Unless he has like a few p hats he can spare? Does he even have a p hat?! Thieving makes a profit. Woodcutting too from bird nests (unless he is such a perfectionist that he doesnt pick them up) :P . But they are both pretty insignificant compared to the amount he needs. Flipping is a risk as prices can and do frequently drop. If they drop while you are buying then you will buy all your offer and be unable to sell without accepting a loss (or hanging on to the item until it rises which could be weeks).Yes in the long term you will make a profit unless you are incompetent, but you CAN lose from it, at least in the shorter term.
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoc9Iy249r4 There you go, draconic jadinkos are about 250-300k xp/hour The xp rate from him finishing laying the traps to the vid cutting off is 40.6k per hour. Only 31 seconds of it but still... Lol. Plus there's so many things missing from that.
  22. It's still the best fishing xp if you don't want the strength xp that heavy rod fishing gives. Though for the purposes of this thread, not really no.
