  1. And me. Even though the only thing making people think quest 150 will be big is the precedent of quest 50 and quest 100 - neither of which ended or even continued any storylines. That was in my opinion the best of the lores and histories... Perhaps because I am able to associate with it more easily, it being in the recent past and related to a quest series that I have done all of.
  2. Lots of mmo companies do do just that - it is a way of making RWT/RMT organisations far less profitable, so they often don't bother. This reduces the issue with credit card fraud and botting, but makes it harder to catch offenders and destroys the game completely.
  3. 1. Jagex have specifically stated on the forums that they will be auto-repairing any broken axes along with the random event update. 2. Even if they did forget somehow, the price would not skyrocket, as it is linked in to the price of the non-broken version of the axe.
  4. No - it says they get free members credit. Probably an extra day or something added on. Stop talking like you know it, they got 30 days members credit after few hour ban. Note my use of the word probably - which not only is not "talking like I know it", but actually states that I do not know "it". And the jmod post does not specify a time period. If what you say is true then I am rather surprised. Maybe tacking on just one or two days is impossible? Meh. I don't know how the system works, and nor do you (unless you work for jagex).
  5. One of those people with 200M cooking experience could get it this way if they make fires with mage logs or something haha. Only if they cooked tuna or lower...

  7. A friend of a friend (one of the higher f2pers - I don't know his name) got to about 80 firemaking that way. And also bear in mind that from 92 firemaking you can get an inferno adze which means you get fm xp as you woodcut... but yeah that only barely counts, and that still needs you to get to 92 in the first place.
  8. Sold my purple this morning, knew what was coming so I bought one. Anyway, Yellow and purple are the only two going to rise. Other phats don't just change because some people are buying them two. Merchanting channels buy out the two colours creating the rise and fall soon after. It's not just a natural rise like purple started, then yellow next Green. It doesn't work like that. Last time they rose that is exactly what happened. But yeah, purple and yellow phats are the most traded so they drop the fastest (% wise). As a result they will occasionally rise a bit to keep pace with the others. I don't think this is the start of a price rise though - indeed I think it is just about over already - there were lots of people trying to sell yellows on forums earlier. I hope that's the case anyway - I sold mine yesterday.
  9. Well I have only actually gone for 99 stats twice - as in training them for the sake of the 99 stats, rather than simply that being what I feel like at the time. Which is why I find it so annoying when people ask how long it took me to get a certain 99 stat... Stats that I got "naturally": woodcut fletch fish cook (Just cooked all the fish I got to 96 fishing with. Used some for food, sold the rest) Stats that I actually went for the 99 in: firemaking construction ^even those two weren't grinding A lot of people nowadays don't seem to realise that there are people out there who don't treat runescape as a grind - and actually do things because they enjoy it. Every single person on this thread who has said that you can't train in this way or that only combat stats can be trained this way is SERIOUSLY missing the point of the game in my opinion. Meh well just my little rant. I need to do them every now and again.
  10. The biggest problem with most mmos is that after you reach about level 20 they just become endless monster grinds. I do not enjoy that kind of gaming. I need variety to keep me interested, and runescape has more variety than any other MMORPG in existance. Another big plus side to RuneScape is the fact that it doesn't take up a huge amount of space on your computer. I have played many other mmos on my old computer, but the laptop I now use doesn't really have the space to operate effectively with many other games on my computer. The biggest downside to RuneScape, and the main reason why much of the MMORPG community looks down on it and WOW, is that it is too popular. As a result of it not taking up huge amounts of space (and being free), people who aren't serious gamers will play it. This means that ou get people who don't understand what an MMORPG is - and will spend the whole time talking about football, where they live etc. - which is really offputting to anyone who actually want to fit in to the game. Go on something like Rappelz or PlaneShift and you won't meet anyone doing that - especially in the case of the latter, everyone is actually getting into the game and actually acting as their character would. Plus there is still the association of RuneScape with bots and 1337est idiots - despite the fact that the majority of both groups quit due to the updates at the end of last year (the first were mainly RWTers and the second mainly pkers) With regards to graphics, a lot of people still think of RuneScape's graphics as being 2D RuneScape Classic graphics. Nowadays, the graphics of full screen RuneScape, with all the options turned to max, is about the same as mainstream MMORPGs - and just a little more laggy. Bearing in mind that graphics makes up the vast majority of Rappelz' 1.85Gigabyte download, is it really worth it? You ask for another RS-like game? I'm afraid to say that there isn't one. Furthermore, most of the people who don't like it weren't around even when construction came out. Think how much runescape has changed since then... My advice is to ignore the flamers. Their loss if they want to miss out on one of the greatest mmos ever just because of an elitest style prejudice...
  11. They first locked it, then removed it to make way for the "image of the future" ones...
  12. Yup, I remember reading this too. Though this really shouldn't hinder them. Really? Anyway, I thought that was a different quest series...
  13. Who is Spiceter? The forum post also no longer exists... whereas the news archive does... The random event modifications WILL take place... they do them occasionally anyway. The Clan wars thing I am about 99% sure will happen - but may well not be as they described it.
  14. Last time they increased them the requirements to get on were a LOT lower than they are now. Also, yes it would for a short while become incredibly easy to get on the hiscores, but after a few days it would get a lot harder, and fast... Also, 974 total level is quite high for free to play... To be honest I believe that the hiscores expansion is overdue and hope this means that there will be one soon. (Even if it does mean my strength and attack becoming ranked).

  16. Killing turoth atm... from 28 kills so far i have received: 7 green charms 3 crimson charms 1 blue charm 1 gold charm. I might update this as I go.
  17. Well I'm one of the ones who has bought a couple of rares in the last few months... as a kind of long term investment - so what if they are dropping now... in the long term i KNOW they will rise. So I'm happy =)
  18. lunar or black d vambs
  19. Guh-thicks Goo-thans Arr-doon - 5 .:: Yanille ::. Yan-ill - 16 .:: Mort`ton ::. Mort-ton (first "t" silent if any)
  20. Just to say - I reckon that a good few monsters will have their combat levels increased so they are more aggressive - especially those who were given a combat lv of 63 or 64 just so that they would attack everyone...
  21. tooth half key - best you can get from them.
  22. No I didnt but one of my cousins always used to claim that Gertrude's house was his home and used it for all the meetings of his little clan... (he never got members)
  23. 1. What are your feelings about MechScape being released to the public? b. I don't care for the release of MechScape. 2. What do you think MechScape will do to RuneScape? a. I don't think it will affect RuneScape very much/at all. 3. What do you plan to do when MechScape is released? c. Try MechScape, and if I like it I'll play it. There is no chance that I will quit RuneScape.
