EEWWWWWW. I have like 3 editions of those books lol. A set from the 1970s, a hawt 50th anniversary edition, the horrendous ones.. and I feel like I have one more set but I can't think of what it is.
  2. The first tow are beautiful :)
  3. Mather I would recommend posting on the following sticky if you want to vent your relationship frustrations and perhaps seek advice: "I want a girlfriend", and other such relationship advice. The people there are all very supportive and love helping others with troubles of the heart. They may have some good advice for you!
  4. Signatures and Avatars Forum Signature Limits are 700 pixels wide by 300 pixels high by 750Kb file size. There is a 10 image limit to a signature, but the combined dimensions/file size of all the images may not exceed 700 x 300 pixels x 750Kb. Avatar limits are 100 pixels wide by 100 pixels high, by 100Kb file size. Images in hide tags are still subject to our size restrictions. For signatures with images (regardless of size or how many) there will be a limit of 4 lines of text or 10 lines of text if you put them inside a hide tag. Each use of quote tags counts as one line of text in addition to the number of lines being quoted. In the case of signatures without images, please exercise common sense with the amount used. Excessive text in an imageless signature and other excessive or disruptive images or text will be removed at a moderator's discretion. We do not permit religious, racial or sexual references/proclamations in signatures or avatars, this includes images and text. Quotes made by religious figures are allowable in signatures if the name is removed and the content of the quote does not promote or demote any religion. Religious, racial and sexual orientation content is permitted in the About Me section of profiles only, as long as the content is not bashing another religion/race/sexual orientation or advertising conversion. You may only have one poképlushie/clickable/growable/hatchable animal in your signature. These images are also subject to our signature dimension limits, when unhatched and when hatched. All other Tip.it Forum Rules apply in signatures, avatars and profiles (including the About Me section). However, the board Administrators reserve the right for final authorization and may approve, request you to change, or outright remove any image or text regardless of size if it's deemed inappropriate. Display Names What is the difference between Login Name and Display Name? A login name is what you use to log in to your forum account; login names never change and it will always be what you login with. A display name is the name visible to the public on forum posts and on user profiles. All forum users have the ability to change their forum display name three (3) times per 365 days. It can be any 3 times within the year, but once all 3 changes are used, a new display name cannot be set until that year has expired. Staff will NOT be taking display name change requests if you have used all your changes up. To help keep track of users, you can add them to your friends list, or you can use the "Display Name History" option at the top of each of their posts or from within their profile. Display names are held to the same standards as login names when it comes to appropriateness and user identity. Basic symbols, including spaces, are permitted. ( - _ ! # % & ( ) * + - . = ? @ ^` { } ¡ ¢ £ ¤ ¥ § © « ¬ ® ° ² ³ µ ¹ » ¿ ~ € ƒ æ ) All other Tip.it Forum Rules also apply to display names. Your username should not be illegible or otherwise difficult to read. You are not able to change your name to anybody's display name or login name. Names that are vulgar, offensive, abundant in superfluous symbols or otherwise irritating/inappropriate will lead to having your display name changed and could result in loss of display name privileges and/or temporary or permanent bans. We reserve the right to change unsuitable names or to remove validating accounts with unsuitable names at any time without warning. Impersonating Tip.it Staff Members, Jagex Staff Members or other forum members is unacceptable. If you receive messages from anyone claiming to be Jagex Staff or anyone claiming to be tip.it staff not on this list, report them using our report function. Inactive Account Names Since implementing display names it's become clear that a lot of users want to use names which are occupied by old accounts which in some cases have never actually been used. We're constantly trying to look out for our active users, rather than those who may not return, and because of that, we're willing to offer old account names to those that want them providing the account that currently holds the name falls within certain guidelines. The guidelines are as follows: The account with the name you want must have been created three (3) or more years ago from the current date; ANDMust have a "Last Active" date of three (3) or more years ago from the current date; ANDMust have 0 posts.Alternatively, we will allow you to use the old account name if:You own the old account and can prove it.Please note that there will be no exceptions to these guidelines, although we may choose to revise them at a later date. Account Display Names will be made available for use on a first come, first served basis. If you wish to use an old account, please check it meets these conditions and then PM an active Administrator with the account name, they will then free up the account and change your display name.
  5. I think some people emphasize coming out just for the sake of it... or for the sake of being honest about who you are. But I think you should do whatever makes you feel most comfortable. If coming out will take a huge weight off your chest and living openly and honestly will make you feel better about yourself, then go for it. But for some people, coming out could be a huge burden, especially in societies where homosexuality isn't understood or accepted. Sometimes the stress of coming out and the attention you would receive can make you feel worse about yourself than hiding the fact. So rather than coming out just for the sake of doing so, I think people should do it if that's what feels right to them. But in the end, I do think everyone should, it's just a matter of waiting until you're ready. While keeping something like that may not be a huge deal for a few years, I would be an ENORMOUS deal for a lifetime. I think going your whole life hiding your sexuality would put a constant strain on you.
  6.  My motivation for art is to improve my skills. I love the idea of being able to completely bring something from my imagination to life. So I'd like to be able to portray my ideas as accurately and as well as possible :) Honestly I have such little motivation in school. I have NEVER taken a class that I actually enjoyed. My motivation is passing so I can graduate so my parents don't freak out and are not incredibly disappointed in me. But even that isn't the best motivation. It's such an immense effort to get myself to actually sit down and study or do my homework.

I'm not sure that I'm fond of all the edits. I think I might have preferred a crisp, clear photograph, but with lighting that causes you to disappear into darkness (black backdrop). I also agree with Sam on both points: the smoking text is cool, but not too fond of the borders!
  8. I have grown to hate name changes :( They're especially terrible for people like me who log on RuneScape after months of inactivity. EVERYONE on my list is different and even the "previous username" it shows for people was a name change, so I don't recognize them. People PM me saying "Hey tripsis, it's been so long!" And I'm just left thinking "Who are you? D:" I feel like Jagex should either show the ORIGINAL username or allow much fewer name changes.

You did post, I remember reading it. It was something about how dinosaurs get no love. I think you also said that I was one of your favourites. *shifty eyes* everyone said that So, what happened to my psot? I didn't think it was all that off-topic.... And yeah, Wongtong fits in the category of "makes me laugh" although often unintentionally. I respect her for finding me that one video that proved that there can be some really hot black chicks. I remember someone posting a rap video....Xhibit (Sp?), i think? I'm amazed that you remember that as well. [/hide] Yeah....I think the song was called "Concentrate" or something. I just remember the rapping was terrible. That... might have been me. ._. Ouch. Sad face? This is what I listen to when I troll. Uhhh lmao. I can't believe I watched that.
  10. I've been watching Dexter.
  11. It's only worth it if that's what you enjoy. Don't play the game according to other peoples' standards. Play it for yourself :)
  12. This happened to me once or twice and I hated it. Same here. My mom often tries (or tried - she can't when I'm at uni) to get me to go out and socialize and I just don't want to. I hate it when people assume that everyone is just like them. Not everyone loves to socialize. There are other things I'd rather be doing.
  13. Waking up late has its disadvantages: one closed dining hall, one with unappealing "limited dining" options (due to being in between lunch and dinner), and a third being 20 minutes away (don't feel like walking that far...).. and thus nothing good to eat for breakfast.
  14. That's what I like to hear! :P
  15. I think it's sad that Debate Club has to be merged with General Discussion but General discussion has to be separate from Questionnaires. I think Questionnaires should be allowed in General Discussion, as long as it has some discussion value, instead of just a simple yes/no type answer. Well that's what differentiates General Discussion from Questionnaires. General Discussion is home for threads that have discussion value. So if you're asking a question that does have OBVIOUS discussion value (and is being responded to with good discussions) then it can certainly be posted here. But Questionnaires is the place for questions that only require a short, one word/sentence answer.
  16. Omg soooooo cute! I just want to cuddle her! So fluffy!!
  17. Thats awesome Thanks!
  18. 15 hours on average - sometimes up to 20 :)
  19. We don't lock that many threads D: And arguments don't necessarily have to lead to flaming. Flaming is a result of the user, not the topic at hand. There are plenty of people who flame in threads that aren't arguments at all. It is perfectly possible to have debates without resorting to flaming and personal attacks. I don't really think our moderation is "razor sharp." Just looking at the first post of General Discussion, only three threads are locked. One locked due to having ~10 pages of off-topic arguments and the other two due to them being duplicate threads. A thread doesn't have to be a debate or argument for it to remain open. It does, however, have to have something worth discussing.
  20. For the most part, I think I'm exactly the same. I have both serious and silly sides, and those are evident over the internet. Although I respond to people who talk to me, I very rarely initiate conversations over the internet, and that is also true for real life. I don't talk just for the sake of talking. I talk when I have something significant to say. Maybe I do appear to talk or respond more on the internet. If that's the case, it's because I have more time to think about what I say... For example, on forums I can read something, think about it, and then reply later. In real life, you can't very well do that. Often I don't think I have anything to say and then a few hours later I'll be thinking about it and will suddenly think of something great to say. But I can't exactly go back and say it.
  21. Locked on request :)
  22. Honestly, I'm not sure that I notice much of a difference (not significantly more or less flames than a few years ago). Of all things, I'd say that there's less flaming.. At least, less flaming that is significant enough to violate the rules. In terms of moderating, there are a lot less posts that need removal these days than a few years ago. I think it starts with disagreements and sometimes people don't know how to handle disagreements. They get frustrated when someone else doesn't see their side of things and lash out. But as a reminder, be sure to report any flaming that you see so it can be dealt with accordingly ;)
  23. I'm usually like that as well. Honestly, I'm EXTREMELY picky about who I want to be friends with. Since middle school (like 5-6 years ago), I've only met two people that I actually liked being with. I've met people who are nice, but I'd always rather do something else than hang out with them (draw, watch movies, read, etc.). To me, that's almost always more fun than whatever I'd do with another person. When I think about my best friends, I think about two people that I met back in elementary/middle school. But now we're in university and both of them attend different ones than I do. I've met people here at uni who want to hang out with me, but more often than not, I blow them off. I'm just not interested. The one person I met at university who I loved being with is, in a sense, exactly like me. We were roommates over the summer and spent TONS of time just watching movies together. Heck, she even played RuneScape  But I loved being with her because she was actually fun to talk to and I could do all the things I would normally do alone, with her. However, I wouldn't call all this having no life. I have a life and I absolutely love it. I do things that I enjoy. I would call it being anti-social, sure, but not having no life. Rather than hanging out with people and being social, I'm pursuing my interests and exploring different activities that I find fun, exciting and challenging. If I had spent my life engaging in social activities, I doubt I would have found my passion (art). I wouldn't have had endless hours to spend painting and improving my skills, and even if I had discovered my love for it eventually, I would probably be far behind my current skill level. I probably would never have dipped into other exciting areas of art, like bookbinding, leather carving, scrapbooking, etc. I say do what you enjoy. If that means being social and having a million friends - fine. If it means being antisocial but enjoying every minute of it - fine.
  24. I probably won't do another until after the weekend. I'm going to start (and hopefully finish) a full digital painting this weekend, and I have some school work to attend to.
