this post does not lend itself to any discussion though. why is it not moved to a forum that suits it, such as "help and advice" ? This definitely categorizes as "Whether you need help or are offering help, all questions belong here." It would also suit Runescape media, as it is a piece of runescape media. posting in this forum is obviously for advertising purposes, not because teh topic suits this forum. This is also something that we are discussing.

The Tip.it Staff is currently discussing this thread and whether or not similar future threads will be allowed. We have often let such threads slide in the past (and not only those created by 3_Hit_U, but by other users as well) but we are currently working toward a more formal and definite decision. Once we have reached this decision, a follow-up post will be created here (along with a lock, if that's what we decide). Until then, please discontinue the spammy replies.

Imo, if she's not willing to talk to him about it herself, then it's her fault and her problem. You can't moderate/fix their relationship, that's up to them. The first step to a successful relationship is honest communication.. if they can't even do that, I don't know how much hope there is for them..

The Tavern's description is 'The falador library's rowdy neighbor with unrestricted access'; It hardly states what we are about. If you guys think a change in description would be beneficial, that can certainly be arranged.

There are other forums that would enjoy advertisement just as much (Forum Games, people wanting actors/etc. in RuneScape Media, recruiting artists to The Art Bazaar, people advertising their blogs, the Varrock Library, etc.). But we simply cannot have every forum advertising through various means (whether it's by collecting massive post counts or posting advertisements in other forums). If you find any posts like the above in Off-Topic, then they slipped under the radar. If a moderator saw them they should and would be removed, I guarantee it. THAT'S the difference. In Off-Topic and other boards they are not allowed/tolerated (things do slip through the cracks, we aren't all powerful being with a built-in spam radar), but we let them slide in this forum.

The way I see it, either we (admins/mods) can crack down on spam/off-topic posts and thus remove our leniency in this forum and reinstate post count. Or you can accept the loss of post count and our leniency will remain. Again, just looking at this thread, there are spammy posts that we let slide here that would be removed in any other forum on Tip.it (names removed from quotes): [hide=Spam Posts] [/hide] Plus off-topic posts and other spam posts that I missed. This change was not mean to be some uber secret thing that we hoped you guys would never find out. It seems like some of you are taking this VERY personally when it was certainly not meant to be a personal attack on the forum. We honestly do not view post count as a huge deal and simply didn't feel that it needed or deserved an announcement. Just adding onto what Das said, keep any and all unkind staff comments to yourself please or bring it up privately with an administrator. Saying that our moderators are of a poor quality is basically staff bashing and is not appropriate or necessary. And I also agree with Das in saying that we currently have the best staff that we've ever had on Tip.it.

Would it make you happy if we updated the description? That sticky was written years and years ago and that one sentence was never updated.

This was cooler than I expected it would be :P Pretty fun, though it got old kind of fast.

We have forum rules against spam and off-topic posts. Look at this entire thread, for instance. It is FILLED with spam, one word posts and other posts that would not be tolerated in any other forum. We are exercising a small amount of leniency here and post count being disabled is the price you have to pay for that. However, threads going off-topic is not the sole reason. As I said earlier, we consider this forum to be closest to Forum Games (given that you guys have role-playing games) and post count is also disabled in the Forum Games board. Also everything that Das said :P

Posts that go off-topic in the Off-Topic forum are removed.

Not necessarily. Post count is disabled in several forums (two examples being Forum Games and Rate This). We disabled post count here because we decided that the forum is more similar to Forum Games than a forum like General Discussions or Off-Topic. Or, if you want a better example of why it was disabled, read some of the above posts ;)

No it wasn't the animation. I don't know how to best explain it.. but imo it was the structure of the film, plot, etc.

I just got back!! :thumbsup: :thumbsup: Everything was awesome. It was such a huge delight to be at Pixar Animation Studios. There was a reception in the lobby area and then they took us on a tour through their gallery where they had concept art, sculptures, storyboards, etc. of a bunch of their movies. Plus we got to peak into a few offices :lol: As for the movie itself, I really enjoyed it. It felt like it had a little bit of a different "vibe" than the first two, but it was hilarious and very enjoyable. [hide=Photos]This photo was taken when we left.. I didn't get a chance to take one while we were entering (which is why it's dark out). The famous lamp in front of the studio. Inside the studio (lobby). That big "house" in the middle is Ken's Dream House. And some of me: Made out of legos! And of course, you can't expect me to go to the Pixar Animation Studio and not come home with loot. I got a sweatshirt, two t-shirts, three posters (all the same but me, my mom and my dad all got one but they gave theirs to me) and a Pixar iPhone cover. [/hide]

I love it when Rattigan has them all tied up and they think they're doomed and then he has that moment of genius and starts speaking a bunch of nonsense ("adjusting for the difference in equilibrium! etc. etc.") I just saw Toy Story 3! :thumbsup: Hilarious. I thought it had a bit of a different vibe than the first two, but I enjoyed it and laughed a lot.

I watched Up with my mom last night because she had never seen it. Then I watched the first Sex and the City movie. I thought it was depressing. It was 2 hours of them moping and having boyfriend/husband issues before things even started to get better.
