  1. I love all those books too! ;D Except I never got through the Inkheart. I read like the first chapter of the first book and didn't really get into it.
  2. Okay let me get this straight: [*:1zdznj75]Well we know the username exists: gabby_air88. [*:1zdznj75]You forgot your password, so you requested that your password be reset. [*:1zdznj75]When you tried to use the password that was sent to your e-mail address, it still said that your password was incorrect. Is all of that correct? If so, here is what I would recommend: Request that your password be reset one more time. Before attempting to log in, empty your cache. Then copy the password that is e-mailed to you EXACTLY and attempt to log in one more time. If that still doesn't work, we'll figure something out from there.
  3. Even better: http://p27.us/phpBB3/ EDIT: D_V_ Devnull's suggestions below have been incorporated. That looks fantastic! Thank you so much :D
  4. Please use the following thread for informing us of all forum bugs/glitches: New Forum Bugs - Last Update 13/06/08 2AM Aus EST. Thanks! :D
  5. Hopefully, yes :) I have requested the change to the techies and I'm sure they will look into it soon.
  6. 1. Hopefully we'll get that back up and running soon :) 2. I have informed our techies of this issue and hopefully it will be dealt with. 3. Maybe we can get some more/different smilies in the future :)
  7. I know... I'm saying why would we want to move here and not back to where we were or somewhere similar... Once we get new skins set up, I think you will like it better. Soon we will install subsilver2, which looks like this: http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/subsilver2 Is that any better? Either way, you guys will not be stuck with this skin and only this skin forever and ever. Eventually we will have a list of options, just like on the old forum. And even if our forums weren't deleted, we still would have moved to phpBB3 because eventually phpBB2 will be no longer supported.. meaning it will have less than acceptable levels of security, will be vulnerable to attacks, etc.
  8. I'm not too fond with the way the dog system is set up. Unless I misunderstood something, you have to keep feeding them even when they're adults? I wish they were a bit more like cats in that sense, who you don't have to continue to feed. But I got a dalmatian :) I thought it was darling!
  9. Thanks for explaining it to him, n_odie. D_V_Devnull - when I say "cosmetic," I mean it is not a necessity. We have much more important things to take care of first such as: [*:1x6w4g1k]Getting the Rune Tips logo set up again. [*:1x6w4g1k]Fixing the Tip.it Events Team and Tip.it Clan Events rank avatars. [*:1x6w4g1k]Installing more forum skins. [*:1x6w4g1k]Get the Account Problem Reports and Ban Appeals system (account_problem.php) up and running again. [*:1x6w4g1k]etc. etc. etc. You are still able to use the BBCode buttons and that is what matters. Once we get all of the super important stuff set up, then we can start looking at a few reasonable "cosmetic" changes.
  10. Yeah I liked that as well. Unfortunately that is not a question I can answer, nor a problem I can solve. So we will have to wait for one of our techies to check it out.. but as that is a cosmetic issue, it will not be at the top of their list of priorities. So hang tight.
  11. Unfortunately people do that.. and act similarly already. Because we can't have a rate system, they can't exactly do that. But people and their friends do already gang up on certain users. Some even go to the extent of following them around wherever they post just to put them down, humiliate them, insult them, etc. I don't have a problem with giving users the ability to positively rate a post. I'm honestly not sure how popular it would be, but I don't have a problem with it as long as it isn't too much of an effort to put together.
  12. It is worse than that... There are some being marked as "TCE Leader", "Tip.It Moderator", and "Tip.It Crew", just to name a few... You have to dig far enough to see them, but they're definitely scary. :ohnoes: ~Mr. D. V. Devnull You might have seen that while I was fixing it. I had to fix multiple ranks to get it to work properly. But now it should be okay. If not, please let me know which specific users have the incorrect rank so I can correct it. And thank you SO much for letting me know Cowman! That was a crucial one!
  13. Thank you, we will hopefully fix that tonight or tomorrow :) YIKES!!! ... Nice catching that... I'll have to watch out until such time as it is fixed then. :? Now, pardon me while I run from the ferrets ... <*DVD screams :o and runs far, far away.*> ~Mr. D. V. Devnull I'll poke our techies about that - thanks. And ferrets are cute :(
  14. We cannot just go back to the old forums. The old forums simply do not exist anymore. The entire database was deleted. And pretty soon phpBB2 will no longer be supported. That means that it will not be as secure as phpBB3 and will be far more vulnerable to hackers, etc. To answer your first question, please read above. Our old forums were completely deleted. The database is gone. We will eventually be putting our Rune Tips logo back in the top left hand corner. You'll just have to be patient :) And I'm sorry but there is no way we can retrieve your signature. As I stated above, our entire forum database was deleted so your signature is no longer there. Let this serve as a reminder for everyone to save a copy of your signatures, blogs, guides, etc. on your computer.
  15. How does this look to you: http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/subsilver2 ? It's pretty similar to the old forum. Hopefully we will have that particular skin installed soon and then we will get a few more colours eventually. If any of you want to have a say in the process, please check out the following thread: Suggest a Style: PHPBB3.
  16. Your other suggestions aren't exactly "up my ally" so I can't comment on those. But I can say that we will be fixing the above bug you mentioned. As you said, all of the poster information was originally on the right side so the "Online" tag just got left out in the move! We should be fixing that soon. Right now nested hide tags are not working (which is what the problem is). Hopefully that will be fixed soon :) Thanks you guys!
  17. We will be adding more forum skins in the future :) That is also on our to-do list :) Originally all of the poster information was on the right side (along with the "Online" tag), so it looks like the "Online" tag just got left out when we moved everything to the other side
  18. Right now my favourite series is His Dark Materials. My favourite genre is Fantasy. I like His Dark Materials because not only is it a fantasy series, but it deals with a lot of real life issues that I can relate to. It's a really exciting book filled with twists and turns and emotions and all that juicy stuff.
  19. Ditto, I said this in another thread, but they look like alien heads... They ARE alien heads!!  :ugeek:
  20. Aww don't say that :( Hopefully you guys will like it more once we get a few more forum skins up and running!!
  21. The hide tags do not come default with phpBB2 or phpBB3. On the old forums, we manually added them in and had to do the same here.
  22. I personally find it pretty funny how many people were begging us to switch to phpBB3 and now that we do, we get complaints about it XD But on a more serious note, please be patient you guys. As several other Staff members have already stated, our techies and Staff members have worked extremely hard to restore the forums. I'm sure a few of them need to catch up on some sleep and then we can start chipping away at sorting through some of the kinks here and there. We will try our best to make the forums look and feel a bit more like the old ones so hang in there!
  23. All of our recent backups were deleted by the person who deleted the forums.
  24. Hey folks :) I have posted a guide made by darkblade986 in the Announcements forum that should help you with recovering old posts/blogs/guides/etc. Thank you so much everyone for your patience and dedication! It is great to have the forums up and running again and for that we have a wonderful techie administrative team to thank. They have worked so hard over the past few days to restore the forums. There is still a lot of cosmetic work to be done at this point, but I assure you that we're trying our best to fully restore Tip.it to its previous state. We hope that you all will continue to be patient :) Thank you for sticking with us through this difficult time!
  25. Special thanks to darkblade986 for writing the above guide. And for those of you who have FireFox, this add-on may be helpful as well: CacheViewer (thank you Laikrob for the link/info).
