  1. Where else in AK you been? I meant to spend a week in Alaska, but that turned into two days due to... an unfortunate experience.... :-X During those two days I was in Anchorage, Nome (walking around Nome in -15̢̮â¬Â¹Ãâ¦Ã¡F weather at night was a blast!!! Very cute town), Unalakleet, and St. Michael's. I pretty much crossed the entire state with all the plane rides I took though (a total of 11 plane rides round trip) :XD: I'd love to go back and spend more time there though.
  2. Thanks for being so anxious to help our users :) However, the best thing to do would be to view other peoples' individual threads and respond to them accordingly. This whole forum is for asking questions - we don't need to stuff them all in one thread. Thanks again
  3. I've certainly been stalking the topic, and I think a few of our Moderators have as well ;) I have noticed a certain degree of unhappiness, but unfortunately not many people have provided possible solutions, which makes fixing the problem difficult :(
  4.  I took a break from RuneScape back in July. Then the 3k trade limit update really killed my play style, otherwise I'm sure I would have come back for a bit. CONGRATULATIONS ON 90!!! \
  5. Locking this as it's turning into a ridiculously pointless flame war. Generally speaking, we don't really promote referrals and/or click wars anyway.
  6. As the others have said, there are similar threads, but not identical threads. If there are actual duplicates you can report them and they will be locked. People are really excited/frustrated because of the new updates. This hype will not last forever, but this update was very anticipated so it's only natural that there are a lot of threads about it.
  7. We received 174 entries.
  8. Aye aye! Have a good day
  9. Check out the following sticky: Tip.it Forum Guide - Post Count. In short, your rank changes as your post count increases. But remember: quality > quantity. So basically... please don't spam the forums in order to get "Troll General"
  10. Hehe I'm sure just about everyone would like to win one, but that's not exactly possible. Just about all contests that I can think of involve some sort of creativity (especially the really interesting ones). Like I'd love to do an art-related contest (like a new Tip.it logo or something for fun), but nobody would go for that since it requires an obvious skill and computer resources. But it'd be fun to see the entries wouldn't it? :P If you have any ideas, don't hesitate to PM me :D I'm all ears!
  11. This is not a bug, as Fluffyzoe64 explained.
  12. Mmmmm I guess so : The tie-breaker was between: zot_mutske, Ts_Stormrage, Fook-A-Ji and drag9999. Ts_Stormrage and Fook-A-Ji ended up tying in that tie-breaker :XD: So I guess zot_mutske and drag9999 can now consider themselves runners up!
  13. Now now, don't be hasty ;) Congratulations to our winners!!!
  14. Well the time has come! The entires have all been sent in and the votes cast and tallied! There were a lot of excellent entries and the amount of votes were very close! And without further ado, please join me in congratulating our Tip.it Rank Contest winners: 1st Place: Honest1 Slogan: "Learn it. Live it. Tip.It"..and despite our tie-breaker, we still ended up with a tie for second and third place: 2nd/3rd Place: Fook-A-Ji Slogan: "All Your Tips Are Belong To Us"2nd/3rd Place: Ts_Stormrage Slogan: "Tip.it - Tipping the balance into your favor" Congratulations to our three winners! I will be contacting you shortly through PM to discuss your prizes ;) We hope all of you had fun participating! - Tip.it Staff
  15. I never got a PM ;) Although I did see this thread as soon as it was posted, as I check this forum whenever it's flagged down. While I don't really have a problem with this idea, I don't really see it being a huge improvement to our current system, especially when considering the amount of work that it will require. If such a system were to be run by the current staff, then I'm going to have to cast my vote as "no." The staff is already stretched very thin (contrary to what some people believe :P). I'm also having a hard time differentiating this from the current Help & Advice forum. What would be the difference between the two? Would people go to these "helpers" for everyday questions as well? If so, I see a simple forum proving more effective. Personally, I would much prefer posting my question on a forum for everyone to see where I would get multiple responses within a short period of time (I rarely see a question go unanswered in that forum - if ever) than spending seemingly more time seeking out a single person who I think might be able to help me (and they might not even be able to). To me it just seems like a complicated system that would require a lot of man power (as skatedog stated) and wouldn't seem to dramatically improve our current system. But I don't know... maybe I'm misinterpreting what this idea would achieve.. I'll have to read the thread a bit more closely once I take care of a few more things.
  16. Well my reasoning for two boards is because Help & Advice is primarily user-answered questions and the subforum would be staff-answered questions. If we had questions like "Is this inappropriate?" then regular users would post their opinion, which may differ from an official answer and confuse the author of the thread. *can't find such a thread*
  17. Yeah that's what I was thinking :P I mean if they're kind, helpful, have a good posting history, have been around a while, why not make them part of the staff? :P Anyways, in response to your other idea, I'd be up for that. We could just make a subforum of Help & Advice for "forum questions." It could range from post count questions to questions like "Is this within forum rules?" or "Is a poll appropriate for my thread?"
  18. :o Yes you have a good point there. There are many new users that are just as knowledgeable as others. And besides, aren't these "Experienced users" already called "Moderators?" Yeah that was my thought as well. I like to think that people will turn to staff members when they have a question or concern about the forum (which many people do actually). After all, we're probably the most qualified ones to answer such questions.
  19. Sleep > RuneScape if you ask me. Either way, Off-Topic is for discussions that are not related to RuneScape. I guess the only place that this would be (somewhat) suitable is Help & Advice.
  20. Yeah mods - brace yourselves!! :XD: No seriously though, I'm sure it will take a while to catch on. I mean how many people honestly read the rules on a daily basis (and scroll down to the very bottom)?
  21. I was actually just thinking that. I'll poke around a bit tomorrow and see if there's a place that I could smoothly add it in. If you have any ideas, don't keep 'em quiet ;)
  22. I think something that Killerred005 is getting at is the fact that some people are too scared to ask out of fear of rejection. At the same time, however, I understand why polls would need to be controlled, even though I feel that people's thinking/creativity should not be squashed as much as is possible. Maybe limit insta-poll-enables where Mods/Admins don't have to be PM'ed to just members who have been around a while AND are making a thread with at least a reasonable point only then, and with the penalty in place that failing to have such a reasonable point, as well as having the poll be a part of such would result in loss of privelege? I know it would mean that on the first or second mistake that a person would be permanently shot, but it is the best I can think of. :-s ~Mr. D. V. Devnull I don't know about you, but that system sounds a bit complicated :-s I agree  Something like that would require much more moderation than the system we have now. If they're too afraid to ask for a poll, then they probably don't want it that badly ;) It's not like being rejected counts against you or anything.
  23. 1. "People who walk slow and in clusters, so that you can't walk around them" (agree with that one 100%.. especially at school when you're going to be late and one more tardy will get you a detention) 2. People who apologize yet do whatever they apologized for again the next day...
