Speaking of tutorials, one of the links goes to an error page (Mountain Effect). It just comes up with this:
  2. It looks great so far!! I'm a little confused about the sword thing though :? Is it coming out of his glove? The image (the parts you've shaded) seems so simply made, but at the same time, complex and perfect  Keep it up! Can't wait to see it when it's finished!
  3. I like it :) I like the colour tone a lot. The text really works with the image, I think. The image and style text have the same.. 'feel' I guess, for a lack of a better phrase.. :P Something about all the black bugs me though, but I can't really put my finger on it. Perhaps make a more subtle fade? If you know what I mean. Overall nice job :)
  4. I don't use it :-# Hello lag..
  5. I agree, you should add some stuff. For the most part the sig is looking pretty empty. Overall, here are a few things I'd recommend: - Get rid of the black lines. You may have been waiting until the end to do this, but I don'tn really know. Overall, they're pretty unattractive. Try using just a darker shade of the same colour (i.e. dark brown for the tree, dark orange for the penguin's beak). Just leave the penguin itself black. And the white lines on the character are kind of iffy. Try black maybe? Just something looks strange about it. - More diverse colours in the sky. Now how often to we see a purely blue sky, eh? Try adding some lighter shades of blue around where you want the sun to be (obviously there will be no sun in the actual picture, but maybe add lighter shades of blue in the top left hand corner, since that's where the light source is). - More shading on the tree. Right now you used only two shades. If I were you, I'd just get rid of that darker shade and start over. Blend the colours from light brown to dark brown, from left to right - similarly how you did the mage. - Incomplete shading on the mage? Try making the insides of the mage's sleeves darker, and more shadows on the bottom parts of his sleeves. And the hood.. It needs shading, my friend  - The horizon looks a bit.. Flat to me. Maybe make it a bit more uneven and slopey? Those are just a few comments and suggestions I have, hope they help :) (Btw, that fire looks great, Darrel104  )
  6. I didn't mean anything rude by it, I was just trying to help you turn your drawings into real Caricatures and I gave you advice on how to do it (or at least told you the proper definition of a Caricature). If you'd rather us give you comments and constructive criticism on your images as they are and not as potential Caricatures, I can do that as well. -- Overall the images have pretty good structures. I would suggest going more in depth with shading. I'm not sure which program you're using (if it's Photoshop I can give you some shading pointers. But if it's not, I probably can't help you much). In the little shading you have done, try blending the colours a bit more with more midtones. When I shade, I usually use between 3-10 different shades of the same colour. I use low flow (15%-25%) and full opacity to set down the basic shades. I then go back later with low flow and low opacity (10%-50%) to blend the colours together a bit more. Also, for the first picture especially, try using smaller brush sizes for the little details (i.e. the black lines on the cape). I think it's look better if they were (1) straighter and (2) smaller lines, but maybe a few more lines. If that makes sense. I hope that was a bit more what you were looking for and I hope it helps.
  7. We're just trying to help you out here
  8. I really feel like we're taking over destro3979's thread here   If possibly, I'd probably leave one 'strand' of the lighter red-orange around the fireball, and an even thiner 'strand' of the darker red-orange outside of that. If it makes sense? That way it's not too contrasting but should blend well from red to yellow/light orange.
  9. I wouldn't really classify your drawings as Caricatures :? Yours are almost exactly like the screenshots themselves, just redone in a drawing program with the paint brush. Caricatures are more like.. Cartoony exaggerations of people. You know: big heads, exaggerated physical features that reflect personality, humerous, etc.. I don't see any of that in your drawings :?
  10. The second one is much better, My Eggs. I'd probably even add some darker red shades on the edges, just to see how it looked :P
  11. I edited your title. I know it was a harmless joke, but I just found it a bit edgy, sorry :-#
  12. I like the fire My Eggs drew. That's sort of what I was trying to get across :P If you were to make a nice blend from red to orange to yellow (moving in) that would look good, I think.
  13. If they're all raised equally, what would be the point of having more than one? :-s
  14. Just make those "fire drops" more flamey looking (for a lack of a better term ). Fire isn't perfectly shaped
  15. You're doing great, Fast :D Oddly enough, you'll probably end up beating me, I'm losing interest quickly :?
  16. how can it be grainy and shiney at the same time?? :? Shiny = nice contrasting highlights Grainy = not fading very well, pixels look randomly scattered ? :? A bit contradicting I suppose, but that's how I interpreted it :P
  17. Nice, chenw  I wanna do that now :XD: Don't think I've gone longer than two weeks.. Blouinator - He said (or at least it sounded like he said so) that he put more money in after a while?
  18. Thanks XMan :D For a while I tried to find a greyish-blue that I liked but was unsuccessful in finding one that fit right :? Maybe I'll try to find one a bit later. And I just noticed that I forgot to create a shadow for the snowman! I'll just make a portion of the cabin's shadow darker, for the snowman :P
  19. Eww finals after break. That's terrible :ohnoes: I'd hate going through my wonderful break but reminding myself that "finals are coming up, I should be studying!" Or even worse, my dad breathing down my neck about it. Good luck with getting that B average!
  20. I don't at all. As insane said, Christmas has developed so much over the years that it's barely religious-based anymore. Now it's more considered as "the time of giving," or "the time of love/celebration."
  21. I'm sure it's well worth it if you're in a good time-zone. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=585639 Try checking out that guide. I only skimmed it, but it certainly worked well for the author (rune mining guide). Personally, even if it weren't good money I'd get it anyway. You're pretty close already, I almost see it a bit silly to not finish it off :P At least that way you know that if you ever decide to get high smithing as well, you can mine your own rune :P \
  22. I'm surprised that you can't buy like.. 20 rings of dueling or so :? Meh, but whatever. As a few other people suggested, make Fire Runes. That's how I got to 44  F2P actually, so I didn't use dueling rings either :P But if you can manage to get a few, then it's worth it. They speed up the process a lot!
  23. But if it was started as a "religious" holiday why take the religious backgrounds out? Nadril- If you have seen some of my previous post on other pages you will find out that this is nothing more than a rhetorical question. Here's my guess: The modern day gift-giving evolved from the three Wise Men bringing Jesus gifts. Over the years, as new religions developed and Christianity itself changed, Christmas became less and less of a holiday to celebrate the birth of Christ. Sure, some people still do celebrate it for that reason, but now there are more reasons why people celebrate Christmas. Quite a few non-Christians celebrate it as a reason to get together with their families and exchange gifts to one another (three Wise Men). This idea probably came from some of Christianity's teachings such as loving everyone and all that stuff. People just celebrate it in a more general way instead of just celebrating the birth of Jesus. Things evolve over time. We really couldn't expect Christmas to keep the exact same meaning forever :P Again, just my guess :P But my question still stands..if it was a religious Holiday why take the religios background from it? I think that Christmas should be celebrated for its true meaning. I thought I answered it  Not everyone in the world is Christian. Not everyone believes that Jesus does/did exist. So not everyone will celebrate Christmas for that reason, especially when we're this far into the game. Now, Christmas means more than just celebrating Jesus' birth. It's about showing love for your family, because that's what Jesus taught. So some people do celebrate Christmas for the whole meaning (Jesus' birth and all), while others just take the teaching of love and giving out of it. Funny how I'm saying this.. I'm sure most of you get the impression that I'm Christian, but I'm not :ohnoes:
