Giving or Receiving?
Gah, slightly off-topic, but I really hate that whole idea.. That the "holiday spirit" consists of giving each other presents. It really shows how much of a materialistic world we live in :? What it should be about (or what I think it is about) is just forgetting everything (all your duties, jobs, worries, faults, etc..) and being with the people you love for the holiday.

:: tripsis :: 99 Woodcutting!
Well I'm sorry I've been neglecting my thread lately -.- Things have been pretty hectic. Had to go to a Christmas party, spend some time with my brother-in-law (at church.. -.-) and now I'm supposed to be cleaning my room in case my relatives - who are coming tomorrow - choose my room (my mom decided to give them the option of my room or my sister's). Also.. I started working on a digital painting. It's been a while since I've done any art, so I figured I'd try something out to see if I've still got it :XD: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=585802 There it is so far.. Not much, but like I said, I haven't had much time. Oh and ca2 - if you're interested in PP I'd recommend checking out this guide. It tells you which quest you have to start and everything  Sorry, but I don't have time to answer everyone's post like I normally do.. I'm supposed to be cleaning :wall:

Yo you blind? theres a border on them all. Well your borders usually end in certain places. I think eckered is referring to those spots that you left "unbordered."

Giving or Receiving?
Well.. If I have to pick one, I'll choose giving for sure. There are very few things in the world that I actually want. Most of the gifts I receive are totally unnecessary, which makes me feel bad about taking them. I always end up thinking, "What am I going to do with this? I really don't need it.." But I'm not a huge fan of giving either :? It's so hard to find something that the person receiving the gift actually likes. If the person specifically tells me something they want, then I love giving. I love making someone's day. But it can also ruin both of our days if the person looks at my gift in disgust :-k :(

Digital Painting W.I.P. - Update #5
:: Home For Christmas :: My first official thread here in the Gallery board so please, don't bite! :ohnoes: Well I haven't done much digital art lately so I figured I'd get back into it. This image is of a girl and her dog heading back to her small, remote cabin in Alaska for Christmas :) (figured I'd add in that last bit, since Christmas is about a week away! :P) Comments and constructive criticism are welcome and appreciated! 1. I mainly began by working on the sky and mountains in the background. They're still incomplete, but I'll go back to them later. I drew a very basic outline for what I hope to work on next - the cabin, the girl and her dog - and Alaskan Malamute. -- 2. Finished off the log cabin. I'll admit, I got a bit frustrated with hit. The only part I'm exceptionally happy with is the smoke from the chimney, I think it turned out fairly nice. I kind of tried to make it look like light was emerging from the windows, but it didn't turn out too well. And I'm beginning to realize how massive the door looks  I will eventually add snow to the roof and areas around the house (to make it 'fit' better with its surroundings) --- 3. Well, I made a couple changes/additions to the cabin. I made it "in the snow" a little more and put some snow on the roof as well. I also followed some advice and made the person on the bottom level of the house actually be able to fit through the door  So I moved the bottom two windows down and to fill up some space at the top, which was looking empty, I added another window and two more people (will probably fix the left person later, she looks weird..). More noticeably, I coloured the main girl in the image and her dog (will add doggy foot prints in a bit!). --- 4. Well first I followed some advice and made the snow more defined where it meets the mountains. I also added a snowman next to the house, as suggested also. I decided that I wanted something to 'fill out' the area a bit more so I added a tree, but I'm not very pleased with how it turned out, I might just redo it. Suggestions on this would be much appreciated. I also added some light snow falling (50% opacity) and some more define snow being blown by the wind (100% opacity). I added some noise texture to the snow and lightened up some of the shadow. But I'm still not entirely pleased with it. I'm beginning to realize how annoying snow is to draw. I'm also having thoughts about adding a moose or something silhouetted in the background. The right side is looking empty. --- 5. I got rid of the awkward branch on the tree, as several people suggested. And followed some other advice with the shadows. I made them blue instead of grey and made them much cleaner looking. I also added a little moosey on the right side of the background  I put the moose layer on Linear Burn to let the noise effect of the snow go through him. I think I like it like that. I was going to add snow on top of the moose's back, but it just blended in with the background snow too much. So instead it looked like there were large parts of his back just missing

Creating Steam
Exactly. Why do you think brushing/blurring/burning/dodging/ makes it a brushed piece and not a true pixel? It is because you used the program to create the desired effect and auto choose a color for you. All lowering the opacity does is set the current color choice to a tone of the underlying material. Only you arent doing it. Therefore it is no longer a pixel. Except using Photoshop does not mean you have to use the brushing/blurring/burning/dodging or other filter tools.. You can only stick to the pencil if you desire. Basically what you are implying is that someone without MS Paint cannot create a pixel picture. So what about those of us who don't own that specific program? Are we just going to have to live out our lives making "fake" pixel pictures in Photoshop? No. We can still create a pixel picture in Photoshop as long as we only use the pencil tool. Lowering the opacity in one layer doesn't mean that it's suddenly not a pixel picture. You're still only using the pencil tool, just taking advantage of the more advanced features in the program. Just because it's harder in one program (MS Paint) than in another (Photoshop), doesn't meant that you simply cannot create a pixel picture in the easier one..

From the start of the "Simulated Pressure" part all the way to the end. I do everything you say but nothing ever happens. It just shows up as a single solid line. :?

Your best and badest moment in real life in relation with RS
Best - My 99 construction party. I was simply amazed at the number of people who actually showed up! Worst - Losing my black cav when I died to a Greater Demon :ohnoes: I had just gotten it from a clue scroll and loved it so! But alas, silly forums distracted me for a few moments and I lost it :wall: I was so upset

what other forums do you use??~(apart from off topic)
I slightly changed your title, since in your first post you made it sound like which other boards on Tip.it itself do you post on, other than Off-Topic. I regularly post on Blogscape, Rate This, General, General P2P and General Help & Advice :) And the occasional browse in Off-Topic and The Gallery.

Can God Hate?
Lets please try to keep this conversation directly related to the topic. The purpose of this thread was not to debate about the credibility of different religions, or "flying spaghetti monsters." It was created to discuss that if there is A God, could he hate?

Construction Question
No, you do not need to switch to Ancients :)

Kah bah gee rly
Looks pretty good so far!! I agree with a few of the other comments already posted: -Robe looks a little strange. Perhaps it's the drastic colour changes, perhaps make them a bit more subtle? Either that or less wrinkly looking. -Neck/face looks odd. I say, don't make the neck so "pyramid-like." It looks like it gets a lot smaller as it reaches the head, make it more even. I'd also recommend shortening it as well. And I think the head needs to be a bit bigger. Other than that, great job :D I love the colour tone and amount of detail :)

anybody own a dog(s)?
You're lucky to have so many dogs! I had one dog when I was seven, a Yellow Lab named Lucky.. But my dad gave him away after a year   But when I move to Alaska in a few years, I plan on getting a couple Alaskan Malamutes :) \

How do you view yourself?
Lets see.. I'm pretty anti-social and my parents hate it. At times, I can be very judgmental, a trait which I've developed from growing up in a community that is completely opposite of me and my personal opinions. I am anti-governemnt, civilization and quite a few other things.. I'm extremely independent (my parents think I'm too independent). I insist on doing most things by myself or "my way," which I guess is somewhat of a flaw. I could go on for days, but I'll stop here since it's dinner time :-w

Runescape the answer for real-life experience?
I agree with the article. I think that Runescape has actually helped me a lot. Runescape is the only place where some of the math skills I learned in school have proven to be useful. I can calculate how long it will take to get a certain level in skill given money constraints and the like. I also think that Runescape has improved my ability to accurately judge people, whether that's a good or bad thing :P And as Randox said, I've learned a large deal about the real world economy through Runescape. There are several parallels that you can draw between the real life economy and the Runescape economy.
