  1. The problem is that money comes from other players. This system has the potential to create huge amounts of money, which could cause massive inflation. Yes, and this inflation, if big enough, will cause ALL items to go up in price. Now, for mentioned pvp drops (dfs, dfh, furies, infinity, dchain, zerkers, d axe, ...), the influx of these will be smaller than before, so apart from the general inflation, these should go up even more. I'm sad I didn't log in earlier, I would have made a killing with some max offers on infinity, dfh etc. On the bork update: why wasn't it there when I lost my fire cape over there :(
  2. (bought another 10k atm, but those are probably for merching purpose, I'm aiming for 90 or 92 prayer, not 99) Hope I can find to use those. Payed 2255 each. I beat RSW on cheapness, woot :D.
  3. so can you still trap the northern demon and kill the north western one? Oh yeah, one thing to make it perfect: bring a super energy in the empty spot you have there. You drink it and drop it anyway. Everybody hates walking. :-) However, with the run update, you might be able to get there with full energy.
  4. I liked reading this but from what I understand those 15 hits will be dealt in 2 combat rounds, right? I dont think you can have 2 dclaw specs showing up at once at least. also, shouldnt you start with ice blitz or barrage, since they have a delay. When I do magic stacking combo's I use a slow spell (ice barrage first) followed by a quick one (blood barrage) for a stack effect (hit the max 30 29 one time, was pretty cool)
  5. Train on controlled. Surely buy a whip, it's the best value for money in game. Godswords, ss, berserker shizzle, whip beats it all in xp/h.
  6. I think we all agree the G.E. should be dynamic, however you have to be out of your mind if you think that buyouts were anywhere close to as widespread or severe as they are today. Back the it was IMPOSSIBLE to buy out an entire stock as you could never find an entire stock. There would always be people who still had some and were still selling. Now the vast majority of all transactions(especially bulk transactions) take place in the G.E. due to the greater range of prices available when compared to player to player trading. The fact that it's a one stop shop for manipulators makes it possible for them to achieve buyouts on a scale that was completely unheard of pre-G.E. In fact I think it's safe to say that before the G.E. the average player had never even heard of clan manipulation. The fact that there was no central market pre-G.E. meant that if someone was price gouging, a player could almost always find someone willing to sell for a more reasonable price. As far as half wines got, it's totally irrelevant as there is no practical use for a half wine, so the only people interested in buying these were usually other merchants. Also if the only argument you've seen against them concerns not being able to buy immediately, then I strongly suggest you work on your reading comprehension skills, or possibly go to an optometrist. Very nicely put. I wanted to add something about how the fact that the price is instantly 'raised' after such a buy-out, in stead of having to wait days/weeks makes it all more fluid, and makes the price return to normal quickly, but I already said that and I dont want to sound like a politician who keeps repeating himself (like most do), so I'll just keep it at a "+1". (and wow , that's a long sentence)
  7. In all honesty, making the GE update even slower will actually make this much worse. Items are stuck because the GE doesn't update frequently enough. Items are bought out because people can't instantly resell the items for huge profit. They keep the item and wait for the GE to update. Imagine a buy-out pre GE: A clan hoards an item. In stead of having to wait days, or weeks for the GE to update. They can instantly charge whatever price they want. Transactions will be made quickly. This will cause the price to drop quickly again. We'd still have some [bleep]es, but they'd be only a matter of hours, perhaps days. Not weeks like it is now sometimes. Seriously, all that "destroys" the market atm are the price caps and update-time caps. An economy should be dynamic, being able to change within minutes. We'd never, ever have a third age situation without the GE limitations. Even if it was hoarded, a lot of people won't be able to resist selling, and soon the price will be back to normal. The fact that an item is actually unbuyable raises the price much more than the simple fact that there's more demand. With no price caps, more demand is instantly replied to by higher prices, people selling, and the price returning to normal.
  8. I liked that one :-)
  9. Bring them duh. Its a fast, reliable and not even that expensive source of food.
  10. Not a bad deal IMO. Those pouches arent even junk, I buy those in the GE when I need shards. (not the toads). The real junk (which is indeed most of it) is pretty easily dealt with when lending things out.
  11. Lol, never insult my stats or you will DC :-) I'll unspam with some old school pics, since I only buy B-staves daily atm, which isn'nt very pic worthy. Bank from 28-09-04 My stats at 21-12-04 People have to nolife a lot more for those ranks nowadays. Pre-skillcape > post-skillcape And to compare my crappy bank to relatively recent Bob (I'm over 530 atm I estimate)
  12. Nor the +2 str. Yet hat +2 str comes at a 16M pricetag (AND a loss of +19 slash)
  13. I must admit I havent tried safespotting yet because it sounded so horribly complicated and not very practical in most situations. I know it probably isn't once I've tried it, but I still have to. I do feel I will love it though. It's like farming, I was hesistant to try the skill at first because it sounded "complicated" (I laugh with that now), but once I tried it I instantly fell in love.
  14. I'd crash you anytime, you arrogant [bleep]. Crashing is crashing, it doesn't matter who you crash.
  15. But that chance of 62 is very very small. Much smaller than the chance of someone hitting his max with his AGS. (if the 2 hits are undependent, the combined chance is the product of both) Anyway, this guide shows magic has at least some KO power, but in my opinion it's greatest strength still lies in wearing our your opponent rather than ko'ing him.
  16. Dance with the devil - D devils
  17. Sirhemen, you say this game is about fun. Okay, but don't try to define fun for other people. Some people, including me, like to make money. It's not because it doesnt show up on the highscores, that it doesn't mean anything. Makes me think of it, what would you guys think of a highcore of "bank net worth"? I'd be interested to see how the top 10k would look. Back on topic: Jettrider, while I completely agree with you I'm asking you: what would the campers do if they weren't camping? If they were slaying, general slayer drops (like herb seeds) would go down, harming slayers too. I think we'll just have to face that when more people play, with all the same goals, some prices will go down (monster drops etc...) while others will go up (raw materials for skilling).
  18. Oh nvm, I didn't read the second explanation properly. Seems like it backed up what I said.
  19. ? anything you use junk for can be substituted by money, and will probably be more accepted by the other guy. And you could as well buy as much junk as you want for min in the GE.
  20. haha, that's pretty funny, so some junk (stable one) has really become a new sort of gp. I dont get why you would prefer the junk over the GP though.
  21. Pvp destroyed prices of mage arena items. (and a lot of other items too :()
  22. Bad idea. A coif gives what, 20k xp? Thats 10k bonus xp, so that's 30k ranged xp an hour while playing SC (3 coifs an hour). You can do MUCH better withtout playing SC. Remember you dont have 9 on you from the start. It takes a few minutes. You fight 5, and they keep respawning from bones, but after a while those 5 will also respawn from their natural respawn point (not bones related).
  23. Thought that was recently fixed? Indeed. Kent is behind with his information. Newsflash!
  24. Ouch lol, bad day? Of course we can talk about illegal and not illegal. We're talking about a game, so you need to see it in a games context. Illegal = you will get banned. Legal = you won't. :-)
