  1. Technically? No. It's entirely possible the owner of the Old Nite account is not dead. Person's lying about their real life selves is documented in Online Games. Now, I don't doubt the owner is dead, but the chance is there that it's a hoax. Either way, it's not for Jagex to alter rules for one player that'll set a precidence for others. Don't be an idiot..We know he has certainly passed away..Theres a Tip.it Times about and all.. Don't be an idiot? Ad hominem aside, yes I read the article on Tip.it but Tip.it times has made a retraction or two in its past (the one about banning players unfairly comes to mind). I'm stating a problem with the online world in that you pretty much have to take for granted what people tell you about themselves. Without knowing a real name, address and death announcement in a paper, you're taking another person's word on it. Five years ago (I may be wrong on this) an article appeared discussing the apparent suicide of a well liked player (not Runescape) who was a 16 year old girl. Further investigation (my guess is using usenet postings) revealed that the player was actually a man in his 30's making up the entire persona. Like I said in my post that you quoted, I don't truly doubt that The Old Nyte is dead. Still, I have skepticism that's natural with the online world that brought about the rudist in people due to the anonimity the net provides. Even myself, you could find alot about my personality by looking up my name due to alot of usenet postings by myself. Still, that's limited only to what I write and if I'm honest in my postings. That's assuming I'm the only guy that goes by a nuke-marine or nuclear marine moniker, which is not very likely.
  2. It's bad, no doubt about it. If everyone headed to a portal first off, game would be insanely fast. Using the Portal health, you can tell which one to head to next. But no, you see a portal at 250 health after a minute and people are just killing creatures at the gate. Sad. Personally, I head to one of the two south portals as taking them out usually helps big time prevent further attacks on the knight. Head to south gate and take out any torchers or defilers. Then help out knight. By then, any gate left I help control monsters. Lost only 2 out of 30 that way. Personally, i think I have an impact as the southern portal I head to (random choice) is the first destroyed of the two. Guys protecting the knight are REALLY important as the shifters are very nasty now.
  3. Here's my method: I cut 13k oak logs (I get the same xp speed as cutting willows, so why not?) Noted Oak Logs, 500k+ gp, hammer and saw. Go into build mode: Unnote 24 oak logs with demon servant, have him plank them. From here on out, when he returns with planks, have him unnote logs. Build Oak Larder, he'll return with logs to that you'll get him to plank. It's VERY fast, about 50k an hour xp (maybe more, since it's the demon servant). Problem is this: You're paying 354 gp per 60 gp. Still, it's fast. ps - use Butler and spend only 315 gp per log.
  4. It looks useful on high level monsters that don't auto-attack you on respawn. Daggonoth Kings, especially the Prime with his high defense. Black Dragons, insane defense, takes over a minute to kill even with crystal bow. Giant Rock Crabs, well, problem with these is you have to activate them, making them agressive, but they ignore you if you run away a bit. Granted, easy to kill with magic. Guardian Kalphites, good ranging and halberd spots with these guys. Black Demons, for the halberd fellows. Bound to be others. PS: Are barbed bolts hitting higher on the backstab shot than the bone bolts? What's the max hit (list your range level) for barbed and bones using the bone bow?

  6. I like the graphics I use as they show furniture and door layouts. Perhaps a room designer can use my graphics (I hereby offer it up as free domain, with credit to myself only)
  7. Like it or not, stating that the owner of the account has passed away is giving away personal details. Jagex will not do that. Fansites can do it, but I doubt Jagex will.
  8. I posted another pic that showed 12 days of results. Time to get nest results. 71, whew.
  9. I'm wondering if anyone can use my lousy pics to make a java applet that'll let you design a house WITHOUT using MS paint. What a lousy program.
  10. Thanks. You know, I thought at first there'd be alot more "official" worlds than this. Oh well.
  11. No, if you had 30 days at 80% approval, then you'll pay 2250k (75k times 30) to the workers, but only use 80% of what you paid to buy the material. I tested and found that raising your approval on the last day would have no impact on all the other days it was below 100%. Still a great deal though. If you have to leave for a month, at least you know that your money is being used and will make you cash when you get back and sell the materials you gathered.
  12. Other speed options: Mark on map the spots you appear inside the abyss. I believe it's 1 of 3 locations. Run at all times. I use super-energy potions (really easy to gather mushrooms to make thanks to altar and kharyll teleport in my house). You'll use about 9 (4) dose potions an hour. Yes, you can get upto 40 trips an hour if you're effecient If you're above 75 rc and using the Giant pouch, it may be more efficient to not use small pouch, and to only use 49 ess total (24 in pouches, 25 in inventory). The reason is you only need to bank twice and craft twice. Using all pouches and max ess, you get 54 ess but you have to bank three times and craft three times per trip. If you're not sure, do an hour trial run with just 4 pouches, then one hour with 3 largest pouches. See if you're crafting more runes with the second method.
  13. I put 5 mill in the coffers, let it go for 10 days. My plices were based on input from many players though. They're not completely precise, but good enough for what you intend to do. I'm investing in maples and flax. As flax sells for 100 gp in forums, and cost 40 each from MTK, it's an easy profit. Maples sell well to fletchers, so easy profit there, in addition to the seeds that can be profitable.
  14. Is there a Castle Wars world? Trawler Trip world?
  15. ~~ How To Train Quickly With Cosmics ~~ Did I mention it only costs less than 200k an hour? Use enchant at the Mage Training Arena. You'll need either an Elemental Staff, Lava Staff (mandatory for lvl 87 enchant), or Mud Staff (expensive, but helps for lvl 68 enchant). Boots of lightness, 1 blood rune and 1 death rune can help. Wield your staff and boots, place your 3 runes (cosmic, death and blood) at bottom of your inventory screen like so: Cosmic, blank, Death, Blood. Move your magic spell so that enchant spell you'll use is as low as it can go. Put your character on run. Now, at enchantment arena, run to a shape and grab 25 of than one shape (you're ignoring the bonus shapes). Click on mini-map to center area with the orb deposit. As your character runs to the center, begin enchanting your shapes. Most of the enchants will be fast as your arrow will be over a low shape while the orbs appear at top of the inventory (similar to rapid way you high alchemy noted items). Near the last 8 shapes, you'll move down a bit to the shape in between your cosmic and death runes. By this time, you have got 25 orbs and are by the orb deposit. Click on the hole, all orbs go in and you get your bonus runes. Run back to your shapes to get 25 more. That's it, fast mage xp at cost of cheaper cosmic runes with benefit of bonus runes (cosmic, deaths and bloods) every 20 orbs you deposit. If you're really cheap, spend your enchant pizzaz points at the store to buy even more cosmics. ~~XP per Hour based on Enchant Level~~ (assumes 1200 casting an hour) Level 1 - 15.3k xp Level 2 - 33.3k xp Level 3 - 53.1k xp Level 4 - 60.3k xp Level 5 - 70.2k xp Level 6 - 87.3k xp ~~Cost For Training~~ Difficult to determine, you get bonus runes while training and you can spend pizzaz points on more cosmics. At level 87, you get the best xp per gp around outside of high alchemy.
  16. I assume that's in jest. There can be no world for resource gathering. Unless you all agree to stick to world 77 for rune rocks leaving all the other worlds to my world hopping self.
  17. The prices should list cost IF you use the suggested staff. Second, spells should have the XP listed. This is VERY useful for those comparing cost to xp Third, don't forget about the Mage Training Arena. The Enchantment Arena gives 75% of normal XP but it's still insanely fast experience. Forth, I think deaths could be at 300. Like all runes, it's easy to get these runes much, much cheaper. I'll do an Excel version if you'd like.
  18. There's no "Cosmic World" like there is for laws. You just have to put an ad on the runes forum calling for runners. Keep a list of runners on your friends list and tell them whenever you're crafting. Runners are too finicky to have a list made of them. They start and stop for whatever reason. However, if more and more crafters tend to use the same world, pay the same rates, then sooner word gets out to goto World 60 to run cosmics. Reasons runners used me was they did not wait. It was show up and get traded. There's far too many crowds at nat and law crafting for now.
  19. One could easily posit that you bought from suckers. I pressume you buy them for training purposes, so how many are you able to buy in one trade? I was paying 100 each for cosmics during this week, but not in stacks of 20k or 30k. If you buy them to resell, how much do you sell them for? In time, more will see cosmics as a valuable training tool that beats out constantly casting Cammy teleport 100k times. As that happens, the ability to get cosmics at 100 each will be more and more difficult. Compounded by the fact that in ALL stores that sell them, cosmics max out at 10 in stock while other runes go upto 250 in stock. Unless you like to world hop, cosmics are only a player obtained commodity. Try doing airs with runners on the F2P world. Although you'll always have runners on world 16, they'll expect 2500 plus essence a run. You can hire real noobs for 1k a run and expect good business. Benefit is that airs can be sold on forums for 15 to 20 each.
  20. I did all this the week it was out. Check the Royal Trouble article in website update forums to see the results. Here's the cost per item though ~~Using 100% approval, expect the cost of your investment to be~~ Coal - 91.6 each Flax - 40 each Tuna/Swords - 56.8, 189.4 each (10 to 3 ratio) Maple - 56.1 each Teak - 166.1 each Mohagany - 224.6 each Teak/Mohagany combo - 191.3 each (1 to 1 ratio) Unid Herbs - 826.4 each ~~Bonuses~~ Mining - 1 gem ever 150 coal Woodcutting - 1 nest every 100 maple Fishing - 1 item every 100 fish Flax - 1 herb seed every 600 flax
  21. Things aren't worth what you think they are "in reality". They are worth what most think and are prepared to pay. *You* made a good deal, be happy about it. You sold an item at an overpriced value, well done. It's called merchanting and it's a good skill to have, nothing bad about it. I wish I had a good merchanting ability, I almost always feel like if I was a little more patient I'd get better deals. In addition, if you got your essence at 40 each you either bought it before the update (which was smart and lucky) or you did some more great merchanting there:) Congrats on the runecrafting levels. I did not sell for an overpriced value. Laws give you 55 xp using the Cammy Teleport and cost 300 to 350 each, giving about 60k xp an hour. Cosmics give you 77 xp per Onyx enchant, and cost 150 to 200 each giving about 90k xp an hour. What school of math you study at that says the Cosmics are overpriced at 200 each? Also, I pay 80 each for essence. As I double craft cosmics, that cuts the cost per COSMIC to 40 for the essence. However, you're right, I did use 66k essence I had from before the update that I got for 30 each. However, seeing that I could have sold this for 80 each, I used 80 as the cost of essence in my post. That's only fair. I did not make A good deal, I sold to a number of players off the forums. They had access to the same search tool I did. They noticed that if they wanted 20k or 30k cosmics at 150 each, they'd have to buy 200, 500 or 1k at a time IF they beat out others wanting a low price. One player I noted was buying at 150 from the noobs to sell at 200 for those rich trainers.
  22. Oh, no doubt you can get cosmics for 150 each. Many still don't get that cosmics are by far (outside of nats and high alchemy) the most cost efficient mage leveler there is. You can get 90k xp an hour using lava staff and level 87 enchant at the Enchantment Room. It'll cost you about 180k in cosmics since you're getting bonus runes. Even less if you use your pizzaz points to buy more cosmics (slow and tedious though). However, if serious runecrafters start doing cosmics, they have no need to sell their cosmics below 180 each. Think about it: Why LOSE money doing cosmics when you can LOSE money doing laws? Laws are better xp. You'll only craft cosmics if you can do it at cost or a profit. For the record, yes, I was buying extra cosmics while crafting for 150 each or even using pure ess. I would pay 1.5 pure ess for every cosmic. Got 10k cosmics that way, costing me only 15k pure ess. That I could sell 150k cosmics for 200 each should show there's a market for cosmics.
  23. My prediction: Jagex will increase the room count this summer, but base it off your skill level.
  24. But with laws you have to give away the essence to get runners. Since cosmics cost 200 each, I was making 400 gp per essence which covered the runners and the essence. Runners were the big problem, getting them and keeping them running was the problem. Selling the cosmics, now that was a tricky issue also. Most think cosmics are 150 each, but in reality cosmics are worth more than 200 each. Anyone that's trained at the Enchantment Arena can verify this.
