  1. And yet, only one person answered the question with stating he tried it out himself. You'd hope there'd be some benefit to a full infinity set. Granted, there are other full sets with no extra benefits (Rock, Spine, Skeletal, Rogues, Mime, Cammy and others). Either way, I doubt there's any benefit to the staff aside from normal autocast and the +20 defense.
  2. Spent 1 hour in the alchemy room testing out how fast I can get coins. Concentrating solely on the 30 gp, you can net 20k gp an hour with about 660 castings. That equates to 43k xp from casting the spell and 80k xp from turning in the coins. To pull this off, do the following: Remember the pattern Empty, Empty, Empty, Boots, Shield, Helm, Gem, Sword. At the item switch, check the cabinet. If it's your item, grab 9 and alchemy all 9. If it's empty, pressume it's the second empty and goto appropriate cabinet. Even if it's wrong, you'll only be one door off. Grab 8 items and alchemy those. I say 8 as that seems to be the perfect number to alc within the time of item switching. This is a very efficient system. Example: The 30 gp item is Sword. I open cabinet and it's empty. I go 2 doors counter clockwise (or 6 clockwise). It's an emerald. Go one more door clockwise which will be the sword and grab 8. NOTE: You can trade coins, so it's possible that poor alchemers can trade their coins to rich players that want fast xp. They give you 1 nature for every 20 coins you give them (make up your own price). So in one hour you used 660 natures, but you'll sell the coins for 1k natures. Rich guys can just buy the coins for natures and get RAPID magic xp. Think 40 xp per nature. People pay almost that much for runecrafting xp using essence and runners on World 66. Tough part is getting a number of alchemers that will sell gp to you.
  3. For Enchanting, and you're 87+ in mage: Use 10k cosmics, wield lava staff. Have cosmics, death and blood rune in inventory. Enchant 25 shapes at a time then depositing them, not caring about bonus shapes. ASSUME: Every 60 shapes, you get 3 cosmics (in addition to 3 bloods and 3 deaths). So 500 bonus cosmics. Every 4th cast you get a bonus shape (just on random chances of room). Every 10 cast you get 5 extra points. So 2500 enchant points plus 5000 enchant points. 7500 enchant points on average. That's 8k enchant points and 500 cosmics. Use enchant points to buy more cosmics at 5 points each, or 1600 extra cosmics. 2100 extra cosmics, 500 bloods (sell for 1500 cosmics), 500 deaths (sell for 750 cosmics) and 727k magic xp. Teleporting at camalot is for chumps. This is where the xp is at. Big question is how many castings an hour can you do?
  4. If you just want the robes, just buy them. The Mage Training Arena is for just that, TRAINING. It's boring training mage outside of combat, but at least you have 4 options to train your character. In addition, once you get the items you want (boots and bone/peaches all I care about), you can then reinvest your points into more runes to help you train. Look at it, 5 enchant points buy a cosmic. You basicly extend the time you get to train at the arena. The other 3 rooms seem to boring to bother with once you get items, but then we've not calculated the XP per hour average. Perhaps that data will help determine if training there is worth it.
  5. If you're talking the small rock crabs, you're not going in the dungeon, but training near the boat on the rock crabs. It's single combat though. If you go into waterbirth, just take teleports to get back out. You'll need a partner to at least get past the first blocked gate. Rune Throwing Axe special helps you past the second block gate. There's that large cavern of Giant Rock Crabs single combat. Deeper inside are 2 caverns with just Giant Rock Crabs in multi combat areas. Very dangerous getting to them.
  6. I tested out Range fires and camp fires (at Rogue's Den). I even tested out the stupid chef hat. I noticed NO difference in burn rates. Nada. Just cook at rogue's den or at Fight Pits bank. Use cooking gaunts if you have them.
  7. Blast furnace is really good if you're using the stores to unnote and smith stackable items or alchemy plates. I use runners so that I smelt constantly, and get upto 600 addy bars or more an hour. But yes, the Blast Furnace counts as a smithing guild in my opinion. It'd be cool if people don't have skills to get into other guilds had to pay 1k every minute to use the place.
  8. *I originally posted this on Official Forums* Since I got 80 Cooking, I'm going to start tracking burn rates. I'm cooking only sharks over a campfire, and using cooking gauntlets. Level 80: 0984 cooked, 169 Burnt (14.7%) Level 81: 1086 cooked, 162 Burnt (13.0%) Level 82: 1200 cooked, 174 Burnt (12.7%) Level 83: 1325 cooked, 156 Burnt (10.5%) Level 84: 1462 cooked, 163 Burnt (10.0%) Level 85: 1615 cooked, 146 Burnt (08.3%) Level 86: 1783 cooked, 147 Burnt (07.6%) Level 87: 1968 cooked, 125 Burnt (06.0%) Level 88: 2173 cooked, 143 Burnt (06.2%) Level 89: 2400 cooked, 116 Burnt (04.6%) Level 90: 2649 cooked, 096 Burnt (03.5%) Level 91: 2925 cooked, 061 Burnt (02.0%) Level 92: 3230 cooked, 070 Burnt (02.1%) Level 93: 3566 cooked, 025 Burnt (00.7%) Level 94: 3937 cooked, 000 Burnt (00.0%) Level 95: 4347 cooked, 000 Burnt (00.0%) Level 96: 4800 cooked, 000 Burnt (00.0%) Level 97: 5299 cooked, 000 Burnt (00.0%) Level 98: 5851 cooked, 000 Burnt (00.0%) OK, Confirmed Personally that 94 is the level for not burning Sharks. I know others said it, but it was fun (tedious) finding out on my own. TOTAL 80-93: 28374 cooked, 1753 Burnt (05.8%)
  9. Eh, the Dagg Kings are easy anyway for a 2 man team properly equipped. You're just spending alot of cash on the prayer pots, sharks and Slayer Darts. Fast killing the Rex, but the Dragon axe is pointless. The Beserk ring is its best drop now. Ranging the Prime is slowest killing of all, but offers the mud staff.
  10. So the moral of the story is if a moron tries this on you, take food and whip. Once he's skulled, kill him. He'll cry about the loss of his noted scims. Head south FAST.
  11. dosent that cost alot of sharks?? I can fish sharks so no big woop. However, you can use the ring of charos (u) and enchant your lyres (yes lyres, I've made 30 of them to use) using Bass. You trick the spirit into accepting it as a small shark.
  12. True. Its indeed caused by the fact that it takes time to kill higher lvl monsters, so in the mean time they will heal a bit. Topic-maker: if you kill only 25 steel drags per hour, that means it takes you more than 2 minutes per. In this time they can heal more than 1 hp lvl. Another thing to not believe it: I am on an even str xp number for years now, meaning i always get 4xp per hit (i dont train on controlled). Train on blue dragons, track your range skill. It'll go odd and even. Better yet, count your damage to it. You're gonna end up a point off in xp. I've tracked the kills and xp cause I thought the Jagex Mod was wrong when he posted that higher level creatures gave more xp per damage. Sure enough, he was right. But the increase was so slight, it might as well not been there at all and saved the programmers the headache.
  13. I like the coal refresh times. At 30 seconds, you can mine 6 spots of coal and always have one available. Seeing as no-one uses the mine spot in Relleka, I have a great location to build up coal and silver very fast. Duel Ring to bank, Lyre back.
  14. Nope, creatures heal 1 hitpoint every minute. You compensate by adding in the hitpoints with the time it took to kill them all. This is easy with mage and range as you can track your shots and the time it took to shoot all those shots. So, I used 1260 firebolts to kill 25 Steel Dragons. Now, I'll get splash xp (22.5 xp per cast) then the rest is xp from damage. Time to cast 1260 firebolts is 63 minutes so add 63 to total damage you have to inflict to kill 25 Steel Dragons. Doing the math (Mage xp prior to killing and after), I got 2.075 xp to magic for every point of damage I inflicted. Again, it's a very minor benefit. And so minute I don't know why they even bothered. Be nice if this benefit improves later.
  15. I forget, but you can burn alot of willows an hour at the Lumby General store on a f2p server.
  16. .. that higher level creatures give more experience per damage you do to them. Yep, a level 20 creature like a watchman would give you 4 xp to combat and 1.33 xp to hits per damage you do to him. However, a level 88 creature would give you about 4.068 xp to combat and 1.351 xp to hits per point of damage you do to him. It's so small a benefit that many did not realize it. However, it is a benefit. I only found out when the Jagex mod that programmed the damage experience slapped down one of my rants with it. Try it out yourself. Kill 100 lesser demons, account for healing rate (1 point per minute of combat). Bet you get more than the often used formula of 4*Creatures Hitpoints.
  17. The more you know....
  18. With the experiments, I also boosted with the Dragon B-axe. That added quite a bit of damage and therefore speed. Granted, I was alone and able to do a 3 beast cyle. Crowds or 2 beast cycles will slow it down. Point is, experiments are fast. Limited by crowds and average damage and speed of the weapon you use.
  19. With 80 Str, 80 Atk, and 71 Def (All Super potted) 40k xp at Green Dragons, slow but you get all those hides and bones for other experience later.
  20. The Rune cost prior to this update made NO sense. You'd spend 50 runes to get one. Now, after you get your full mystic, wand, book and spell, you can put your pizzaz points into runes at a reasonable cost. Think about it, you're now spending 2 laws in order to buy one law. You're spending 2.5 cosmics to buy 1 cosmic. That almost DOUBLES the number of laws you can use if you use all your pizzaz points to rebuy laws. Similar thing for cosmics and nats. As for the outfits, the enchant points were too high. Cosmics were not an overly crafted item. If you consider STORE prices of cosmics (al kharid and wild bank) you'd still think that enchant points were too high. Now it's more balanced. Outfits, books, wands and spells were rewards anyway. The market will VERY QUICKLY stabalize. These robes are one step up from mystic is all.
  21. You only need three bits of information always visible Energy Hitpoints Prayer All other info changes slightly and only under special circumstances.
  22. Can't you see I said secret spot? If word got out, then it wouldn't be 800k an hour. Thinking more on the cost, I probably make closer to 600k profit an hour. 2k cannonballs, 8 prayer pots, misc. costs do add up a bit.
  23. Going to Dagg Kings solo on high detail, using Zammy flames, and attracted prime near the end. So, Lag and can't see prayer points (you're on mage screen too much). Buh buy all my gains (got 5 rex kills, no good drops) and lotta blood runes. Tried to go back and solo, went in with range prayer instead of mage prayer. Oops. Sure, 400k lost in runes. Made it back many times over later in that chamber, but that still ranks as my most idiotic.
  24. Green Dragons: 400k an hour (I don't sell the items, but if I did I'd make this) Using cannon at secret spot: 800k an hour after expenses Blue Dragon: 200k an hour, granted I use up 90k on crystal bow. Mining: 40k as hour Smelting at Blast Furnace with runners: 225k an hour Runecrafting: 400k an hour doing nats (65 runecrafting) *EDIT* Well, since I'm not likely to go back, here's what my secret method was (as it's not likely to be that great now). I got prayer garbs and range items, 1 cannon, 2500 cb's, 2 Crystal Bows, telegrab runes, Lots of super restores and headed to the 5 wallasaki spot in the Dagganoth cave. I put on mage prayer, set up cannon just in middle of room, and went to town on the wally's. I stood inside the cannon and only used telegrab to get items. This way, the wally's would not bunch up on one spot, so the cannon hit all 5 as they respawned. Every 10 minutes, I'd switch my bow to the decay, then reset the cannon after the decay occured. Oh yeah, NEVER let your prayer go out, or you will die VERY quickly. The cannon combined with the crystal bow made for 70k xp an hour in range. I got about 3 full skeletal sets an hour to boot. At the time I did this, I could sell full sets at 400k a piece. I only spend about 400k in cost (pots, crystal bow, cb's). It's probably not that great a money maker now, but it's still darn good as training. So for all you writing me asking what the method was, there it is.
