If investing in one at 150K and having it worth over 20 Mill now ISN'T a "use" I don't know what is...... I could either have 150K in my bank, or an item "worth" 20mill. Some items HAVE a "use" option. While other items ARE a "use" option. Which is entirely determined by the context, the item has no value in itself.

Has Jagex Forced Prices up of Items that were Undervalued?
killotroll replied to DegenerateX's topic in General Discussion
Actually with the price of the nature rune your losing more money than you gain. And if you ever bought gold bars before the grand exchange update you'd know the average price was around 120. \ Actually, I have always been a seller, and I never sold lower than 180. =; You can high alch a gold bar? You can turn a gold item into ... gold? cool. but is thats true, then...arent all items in the ge around their high alch prices? your "gold bar into gold" statement was quite redundant. you can alch anything, even the nats themselves. and, no, they're actually lower than you think. ~WSW~ On the contrary, you can't high alch coins. I think he was pointing to the fact that: The best known goals of the alchemists were the transmutation of common metals into gold (From wikipedia) -
Yes, that's obvious. Why the mad smiley?

New eggs being introduced for summoning

Is that different from the eggs that have always been there? No. Just what I thought. -

This suggests that the GE will handle smaller amounts before bigger amounts.

Very popular! Players have held We Love JaGex Festivals for weeks now. [/irony]

Eggs will be much easier to get after the skill comes out. There's a prediction for ya all! -
I found a new unmapped island! (for summoning)

OMG, nice find. I don't know how you people find these things... Oh, from reading the news posts on the main page of RuneScape. -
It had to be brutal to kill off the scammers and cheaters once and for all. Let it settle a couple of month. There is plenty of ways to elaborate on team based activity and player interaction, already lots of good ideas have come up on this forum. Jagex ofcourse will want to improve the team based aspect of the game, but on a basis where it does not facilitate RWT.

Goldfarmers, Bots, and RWT'ers arent going anywhere...
killotroll replied to ikraz66's topic in General Discussion
What makes you think that Jagex have not thought of this? Think it through, and you will realise that it won't be a big problem. If you have played the game for a while you will not want to buy a new account, since transfering objects is not possible. The market will be new players who want to get a quick start. How much will they be willing to pay? Not anything that amounts to the work that have to be put into making the account. -
Hypocrites: The Players or the Staff?
killotroll replied to muggiwhplar's topic in General Discussion
I was shocked to read the 'transfer to another account' part. This is hypocrisy in it's purest form. -
Something will definitely be done. An update will very likely fix this in january. Calm down. This doesn't take effect untill next month. I doubt that they will not make a change to it, since it's easy to imagine solutions like the above mentioned.

A child freaks out in the super market and is lying crying on the flooor because he cannot have a candy bar, would you instantly give him the candy bar?

+1 Jagex has decided what their target customer is and what that customer isn't. Riots and boycotts may lend some sense of community amongst the disappointed, but in the end Jagex has weighed it all and chosen what they want to do. The Runescape userbase has had years to police itself. If there was no demand for RWT, bots and farmers would not exist. They were in the game because enough players with compromised ethics chose to pay for their levels with real world cash, be it with daddy's phone bill, a stolen credit card or legitimate methods of payment. The Runescape userbase failed miserably at policing itself, and now the clampdown is on. I read through the forums yesterday. Fully half of the posts were cut & pastes of finger-pointing ASCII art, that poem about the cup of choco, a slogan stating "We Pay... We PK" and another post that ended "WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED" It was different people cutting & pasting the same thing over and over and over again... Sure, Jagex might pull the plug on half their servers tomorrow... but that's what they are choosing for their game. Your only choice in the matter is whether you will stay and play or not. As for me, I will still be there. While I disapprove with the letter of some of the recent changes, I agree with their intent 100%. The frontier days of Runescape are over. Sink, swim or get out of the pool. Well worded! I actually think that those updates are pretty interesting and I am looking forward to see the consequences - especially if it effectively will win the war on RWT.
-
Agreed, its like giving a baby a lollypop then saying they cant have it. Why would they do this? I'm hoping Jagex will look over this update and make some well needed changes. I'm sure they will address the different problems that are caused by this massive update. Give it some time.

Having implemented everything, now is the time to start making it work.
-
I doubt that there will be a market for those. It's bad for those who want to RWT and transfer stuff between accounts. And for those who liked old time PKing, merchanting and the like. The above mentioned will not be a big issue.
-
Actually, all he had to say on TS was "I am speechless... They actually destroyed the game." I don't think this is the end of the game at all. The game has changed, but it had to. Jagex will still be making money, it's just that less of this money will come from players who have played the game for several years.

Fighter torso reveal a bit of belly on male characters too. Combine it with a plate skirt and you are ready for a night on the town.
