  1. Hi dirk, by all the posts above me i'm guessing they don't know who you are. (hopes you know who i am) atm world 6 is what world i use if i want a crowded game of cw, which is the world most cw people use. but its very hard to get onto world 6 at most times, and its very laggy. i'd love to have an official cw world (thats not cdu homeworld ofcourse). A place were most people you see are gd cw'ers. Next time i feel like cwing i guess i'l go world 129, hope to see you there :)
  2. I've done the quest. Youre going to need ALOT more invent space. 1/2 of those p pots will have to go, and you will probably need 4 good food at least for the hand holds section too.
  3. I know about the rocks being changed, but if you time it right you can make it across very quickly still. Im confused with what you say about the adrenaline of running underground is now gone :S nothing has changed there so ive seen. Im not too bothered about the stoping stones being updates, so dont add me to supporters, can't say i used the rocks too often anyway, i have much better ways of scoring.
  4. Just got 70 thieving using this guide :)
  5. Just incase you needed a picture of the side door trick, its hard to take pictures while your doing it though lol
  6. Just look one post above. I'm confused, i didnt use any of the ritual things on the boss or trolls, and i completed the quest. The ranger trolls were hitting constantly through dharoks and full crystal shield with lvl 86 def though :wall:
  7. For a lvl 59 i love youre points about cw. We Rarely hear the point of view of somebody who doesent really get a big chance to make an effect on thier own. I agree, planning can win alot more than rushing. A well planned out defence can beat any rushers, and also well planned assault team can easily take back the flag. But it is VERY hard to find anybody who will help 'plan' to attack the flag in cw, as you stated, alot of the players don't really know what thier doing. I think as like barbarian assault there should be a tutorial that actually shows an enemy with thier flag and that you should kill it. Also i think the tutorial should be compulsary. How goo would it be to play on a team were EVERYBODY knows how to play as well as the next person.
  8. i'm currently lvl 66, so i'm up to the same room as you I get around 5-7k exp per trip whcih is 5 minutes, add in 1 minute betweeen round you can probably get 50-70k exp per hour.
  9. Personally i think luring is just downright cowardly. I was lured back when i was lvl 80 ish and got killed for a blue h'mask, i didnt even know what luring was at the time so i didnt know i was making any sort of mistake. My lure wasn't a 'come here to trade me'. The guy said can you hold these vials and come with me to the monastry fountain to fill them for me. When i folowed him i got attacked at that point between the monastry and edgeville. Also the wilderness warning doesent come up if you have already been in the wilderness recently, and as i used to be an abbys rcer at the time i didnt get the warning. I've been to embarised to tell people that i actually got lured and use excuses like i lost connection at a random while wearing the mask to explain how i lost it. I think there should be warning around about luring, because there is about scamming, but nowere have i seen a jagex warning about lurers. Alot of higher lvls know about it, but alot of lower lvls would not know what you are on about if you mention luring.
  10. Dunno if you know, but there is an altar in Sophanem~ It's near the Head Holy Dude. ^_^; Yeh i do know there is an altar there, but it saves having to go to it every few trips, i can usually go a lvl before i have to recharge :)
  11. I've got from 59 to 64 thieving since monday using this strategy :) I've been wearing monk robes, prosylyte helm, sara crozierr+stole, boots of lightness + spotted cape. Its v light, and has +38 prayer bonus so i can last a v long time without having to recharge prayer
  12. Winning really is no fun at all , who could possibly want an easy 2 tickets? Winning isn't everything. If the round is fun, I don't care if I win or lose. On the other hand, if the game gets boring, like when people hold their own flags, I'll quit the game, even if I am on the winning side (I've quit more games where I was winning than losing because of this). Also, you can cheat and still not break any rules. Cheat codes on other games may be programmed in to the game, and thus "allowed" by the programmers, but you're still cheating by using them. As far as I'm concerned, holding your own flag in cw is the same as activating God Mode or No Clip on Half Life. Yes, you can do it and it makes the game a lot easier, but it also makes the game far more boring. Cheat codes are considered cheating because they give you a completely cheap ability without having to do anything. To hold your own flag you must kill the opponent. Which part of this do you not understand? You are acting as if people can grab their own flag at any time. If it was possible to grab one's own flag at any time, it would be too easy but this is not the case. You need to kill the opponent which isn't always easy. Furthermore you must not be killed after having grabed your own flag. These are two conditions. Cheat codes are different because there are NO conditions, you just have to imput a sentance and then you get some unfair advantage. But flagholding isn't unfair because you had to work for it. its not hard for a 100 to kill some level 50 with ice barrage and a dragon scimmy. its even easier when your protected by another 2 barragers and 5 meleers... and you call this skill? Great point there. Ok if you are lvl 100+ backed up by many other players, its not any skill at all killing a helpless lower lvl, BUT, what if its the other way around, and you are a lower lvl and kill a much higher lvl for the flag.. Example: A lvl 100 kills a 120 for the flag by trapping them in a cade trap (Cw jargon, takes skill to do it correct thats all you need to know), and then if the lvl 100 hold the flag, but with many of his team defending him. It took him skill to get the flag but not to defend himself after. Is this still wrong? There is also two types of flag holders: Type1) Those who stand with and ancient or two and many of thier team defending them, when in trouble hops on the stepping stones and just hops around, so meleers cannot hit at all, and rangers/mages just get ganged on the sides, making the flag almost impossible to get. Sometimes these people also just continually go up,down,up,down,up,down a ladder, making it also very hard for the enemy to get it. In my opinion that IS cheating, because it justruins the game, it turns from a challenge into mission impossible. Type2) Those who, like me, when holding the flag WILL give the other team a chance. Ok i may have people defending me, but if i think that the enemy has no way of getting to me, i'll run around a bit and attract some attention so the enemy can find me, and hunt me down easier. This is both more fun for me, in my eyes looks more skillful :), and is usually much more fun for the other team than running upto one spot and dieing before they get to me. There is a fine line between what makes cheating and not cheating.
  13. How long ago did you start? Also, what is the recomended armour (106 combat). I'm planning for high thieving, i was maybe thinking for 90+ taking about 4-5 months max?
  14. Tips to add when holding the flag: - You can stand 1 step inside the side door of the castle without it safing. If you get the screen at the right angle you can click 'close door' as soon as the enemy opens it, and you wont have the 'attack x' option. If you put a baricade just behind you it makes it almost impossible to be hit. (i'll get a screenshot for you later if you want) - When underground on 1 side of the rocks, place a baricade underneath you, when the enemy runs across, you can collapse them while ther'e confused because there stuck on the baricade. Only usually works three times max on a single person though. -Also i don't know if you already have it on there, but did you put the running around middle island stuff on there?
  15. Wow you go/went a totally different way to me, my way seemed shorter too, but youre map seems to start in a wierd place.
  16. 60 ish astral runes. Made like 100 when i did lunar quest, used 40 ish, never been on lunar since.
  17. Winning really is no fun at all , who could possibly want an easy 2 tickets? I want an easy two tickets :P In my experience, if your team flag holds and has mass defending of the flag, it makes the game very boring, but its still a win, although sometimes if i'm the one holding the flag, i'l run out of the group and at least give the other team a chance of killing me, just to perk the game up a bit. My suggestion for a fix would be a compromise between how it is now and what people want. If the flag was dropped on you're teams side of the map (youre castles side of the river) it would be automatically safed just like as if it was in the castle now. BUT, if it was dropped in the enemy half of the map it would be up for flag holding, but as an experienced cw'er, i KNOW that holding the flag in the enemy half is VERY hard, and would only last about 5-10 minutes max, and would even the game out alot more.
  18. I'd have to say cooking, fletching, attack and streangth are the least admireable in my opinion. I was deciding on which skill cape to maybe try for a little while back, and was considering those, but they just seemed way to common. In my time deciding i must have seen at least 10 of each, which put me off them. When wanting a skill cape i'd want one that i very rarely see. Also the attack and streangh ones are ones i dont hardly respect one bit, my reasons are as follows: Streangth: Oh were do i start, for one thing, i hate the str skill, i don't see the point in getting it high and leaving att and def low, because as soon as somebody with hig def comes along, you wont hit them at all while they constantly hit you. Str cape seems to be a pc product cape, having it almost labels you that, and rightly so. i estimate 9/10 people who pc alot are there for att or str. Attack: just the sheer common-ness of the cape frightens me, its on the same level as fletching and cooking on commonness. I haven't mentioned defence cape as one i do not like though, because it is the only melee combat skill cape i think is admireable. VERY few people go for 99 defence, but i dont know why? i love having high defence, and its the skill i want to get 99 1st. It is the rarest of the melee combat capes and because of that seems so much more admireable. EDIT: just reinforcing my point, walked into rogues den, what do i see? two lvl 90 somethings in fletching capes going for 99 cooking =D>
  19. I'm a member and I think they should get updates, just not very frequent, maybe 1 every 4-5 months. F2p has been almost the same since iv'e been playing, almost 3 years now, and the f2p area is VERY old fashioned in a way. F2p do give a bit of money to jagex, by the ads, only on an estimate by me of about 10% of what members do (correct me if its more), but its still enough for them to deserve more than just the 1 update a year. Some of the F2p crowd cannot afford the membership, maybe because of poor family or because of other situations, but they should'nt be as punished for that as they are. On the topic of members saying 'they could have taken time to make a members update', sereously how dumb?! Do they not realise that as a member you CAN do f2p things, #-o. It just means its probably going to be aimed at lower lvls, but so? there are lower lvl members still. AW :boohoo: to those who whine about members not getting as much updates if f2p get one, us members have 4 a month, thats 48 a year! can we not spare 2 or 3 of those? are we that selfish?
  20. I think if rares were made untradeable, it would unstabalize much of the rs economy. Without rares the merchants that rely on the for money would probably turn to barrows, and as there would be alot less for the mass money making part of rs (all those who make money for some reason, from alching, monster drops or skilling etc), there would be much less items for them to aspire to get, which would probably make them gab for all those items that currently are worth 1-10m. Which with supply and demand would push the prices up significantly, maybe good for some people but people who prefer lower prices for items will not be pleased. And im not even going to go into 3rd age, as if rares were taken out, 3rd age would probably reach 200m+ because it would be the rarest and much more desired equiptment in rs.
  21. Wev'e all been in that situation, your in castle wars and the opposing team has got thier own flag somewere protected by what seems like an army of people. Its almost impossible to get the flag from them unless you have your own army of high lvls. Now this happening completely stops one team from scoring, and unless the same happens on the other side of the field, allowes the team holding thier flag to get a big lead. Now some would call this cheating because they are just making one team totally unable to score, and say it is unfair as the flag will never be safed, taking away the whole 'Castle wars' point, making it more 'Field wars'. These people would usually suggest the flag maybe being auto safed after a few minutes by the game. But some would also say that it's just a strategy that the better players at cw have mastered to help them win. Personally i use flag holding all the time in cw to win, but i do feel its a bit unfair. So is it cheating or not in your opinions?
  22. I killed about 10 guardians and maxed at 17, i think the special didnt work for me lol. Does super poison effect the special, as ive poisoned it since.
  23. Back when i had just joined members, i did a clue scroll and got ranger boots, sold them for 2 rune pickaxes and 10k :wall: nowdays thats 1.5m+ lost Also quite often ive bought something like infinity boots, and resold an hour later for 50-100k less because ive got bored of them #-o
