  1. Going to see Camera Obscura tonight, and tomorrow I'll be seeing Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog Quartet.
  2. Somebody ought the smack the life out of you. Throwing pop-corn at other moviegoeers. I bet you keep your phone on as well.
  3. :) welcome back. Last thing I saw was San Quentin, which was mediocore. A pretty compact gangster/prison flick from the Warner stables. Seeing Bogey playing a 25 year old while he was nearly 40 was pretty funny. Also went to the PAC (Pathé Alternative Cinema) festival this weekend where I saw Das Weisse Band (the new Haneke) which was terrible, Whatever Works, the new Woody Allen with Larry David (what a hero!) which was very funny and pleasant to watch. We also saw Bright Star, a costume drama about a woman and John Keats, it was a shame they kept pushing all that poetry on us, I got kind of tired of it after a while, if you ignore that it's a really nice film, for a costume drama. And Antichrist, I saw it for the second time, and I have come to the conclusion that I don't like it very much. From time to time Lars manages to create a pretty creepy atmosphere, and the movie is build really nice and 'smart', but it doesn't move me at all, so the drama part doesn't work and as a pure horror movie it isn't interesting enough either, next to that I'm kind of over his provocation (I'm not even talking about the disturbing scenes, more of things like the Tarkovsky hommage at the end of the movie), it makes him look like a kid that desperately wants to be taken seriously. Other things I've seen this week: 230. The Band Wagon (Vincente Minnelli, 1953) :: 10.0 231. Bride of the Monster (Edward D. Wood Jr., 1955) :: 7.5 232. Goyôkiba (Kenji Misumi, 1972) :: 7.5 Also saw forty-five minutes of Touchez Pas au Grisbi, which made me fall asleep. :') I don't know what it is with those French crime movies from the 50s, but to me they always seem incredibly boring, I still need to find one that doesn't make me fall asleep. [edit] Just finished watching Touchez Pas au Grisbi, and I must say I'm really impressed. From minute 40 'till the end it's a feast!
  4. Backstage, maybe. She's hot.
  5. Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick
  6. Singin' in the Rain This is the third or fourth time that I'm seeing it this year, and I just can't get enough of it. This is one of the best five movies I have ever seen. It's perfect. Une Femme est une femme The second movie of our musical double bill. A pretty nice, lively and happy Godard (who would have thought of that?) it's not really a musical of course, but it has the feel of a musical (he called it a neo-realistic musical himself :D). Love the weirdness and all the layers he's creating with the references to other movies. It's also his first color movie and it looks fantastic, of course. Before I forget: Anna is lovelier than ever.
  7. I don't know if this is what I mean, but if I it is what I mean then I can't think of anything that tastes more aweful than "Pascal celery".

  9. I think I've heard that in a movie or t.v. series. Seinfeld or something? Or did you just make that up, in that case, you're brilliant.
  10. This has got to be one of my most stylish pictures ever. If you ignore the clothing atleast. Remove the first one, and put this one in, please. :)
  11. haha, you too? Man I loved that movie.
  12. pretty great idea! I've got the day off tomorrow, so I'll do one too.
  13. Jean Rollin is a French director known for his erotic horror movies. He's pretty good in the vampire and zombie genres. Enjoy. :) And enjoy Werckmeister of course. ;)
  14. Fascination Pretty cool erotic vampire flick by genre-pioneer Jean Rollin. The movie has a pretty cool look and atmosphere just as it has got lots of nice women. Despite it being pretty slow it generally is pretty entertaining, especially for the guys amongst us, I think. 7.5/10
  15. I don't really put anything on when I want to sleep. Only when I had too much I listen to music and then I fall asleep, but that's because of the drinks, not the music.
  16. Maybe you should listen a little better then. :) The Resistance sounds a lot different than their previous record(s). This also goes for Coldplay by the way, where Viva la Vida is completely different than X&Y (which was impossible to get through, btw), just as X&Y was different to Parachutes and that other record. Sure, you can hear that it's Muse or Coldplay, and I'm not saying anything about the quality of the groups, but you can't really say that their sound doesn't go through any kind of development.

  18. Theme songs always get a little bit boring. I do like the FireFly one, though. Also the opening from Star Trek Next Generation is really cool.
