  1. Los Olvidados (released in france, you can get it from the french amazon for 10 bucks or something, then you also get two of his other mexican movies with it and the documentary he made in the early thirties after L'Age D'or), it's one of his best films, and funny enough also the least surrealistic. I really love Le Charme discret de la bourgeoisie and of course Belle de Jour. As for Melville, I really like Les Enfants Terrible (also released on Criterion), but that's a bit of a strange one compared to his other work, since it's not only about being cool, which is probably because it's a Cocteau movie for 75%. I always hear people about L'armée des ombres, but I haven't seen that yet. Last movie I saw was Mommie Dearest, which is a bit of an unusual film. It's really good, I think. Faye plays Joan Crawford so good, she really goes "full Joan" as somebody else wrote. I'm pretty sure the movie is meant seriously, we really fall from one atrocity into the other, but when you get over the shock of what happens on screen you see how hilarious it is. The "Tina!!! BRING ME THAT AXE!" and "No...WIRE HANGERS!!!!", especially in the wire hangers scene, jesus, wow. She must've been the model for Heath Ledgers Joker. :o 1MA, it's really a shame that you won't look further into Bunuel after Un Chien Andalou, it's a bit strange to discard (is that the right word?) a director that made over 20 films based on a twinty minute short, that also was the first film of his career. :)
  2. haha, Puscifer is Maynard? Never knew that. :') I never wanted to check out the record because the album cover was so incredibly horrible, and I didn't like the album title either.

  8. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - The Good Son #2 The Good Son
  9. Haven't seen much movies lately. On sunday me and my friend Tobias did a St. Vincent night. At the concert we asked what her favorite movies were, she said Pierrot le Fou, Picnic at Hanging Rock and Badlands. I happened to own all three movies, and sunday we wanted to watch them. We only saw Picnic and Pierrot. Picnic was boring, I had seen Pierrot before, and it was fantastic, of course. Yesterday night I rewatched Manhattan, which has some great moments, but was less good compared to the first time.
  10. Arcade Fire - Wake Up We're just a million little gods causin' rain storms turnin' every good thing to rust. I guess we'll just have to adjust! Man, that's such a fantastic moment. :D
  11. I'm not a movie/music God and I don't pick out the people. I chose the person who made the first list, after that the maker of the list can decide who will make the next list. I thought it would be 'fun' to do it this way, people make contact a bit, everything is organized, people will get appreciation for the time spent on the lists and you also have some time to check new things out. Thanks for calling me an elitist topic nazi, by the way.
  12. Electric Masada - At the mountains of madness - disc 1 - track 3 - Karaim.
  13. I used to be a pretty big tool fan, now I find it hard to listen to them. I also used to be a PF fan, but I rarely play them anymore. I went on, and kind of left them behind, although I can still appreciate their music, whereas a lot of Tool stuff just sucks the blood from under my nails these days.
  14. making apple pie with my mother.
  15. Probably my most listened record these sentimental days.
  16. Action picture from my friend's bachelor party. we were playing water rugby.
  17. It isn't that strange that he says that. Most people listen to radio friendly music, so it's a bit special when you have a lot of people who don't listen to the stuff that's played on most radio stations. Besides, you're making it sound as if it's bad to be different. :)
