Ouch...look, I was trying to stay OT regarding this..I appreciate your first post as a possible theory as to the outcome of the GE. I disagree on a specific point, and the poster prior to you responded as I would have. Really, as much as I'd prefer not to jump on the flaming bandwagon...your post here was really unnecessary, extremely juvenile, and really detracts from anything you might have said previously. The gentleman *does* have a point, and while in the Age of Faceless computing, anyones claims are suspect, you took the low road in responding to that, creating a personal attack, instead of staying on topic. I'm sorry, but I can't contribute to this topic anymore...I realize the type of person that I'm debating.

Ego, It took me a while to read through all these posts, and while I tend to agree with the basic idea of the timeline you put out, I must disagree with the assertion that rares are the backbone of the RS economy. In RS as IRL, there are those with large amounts of disposable income and those without. A real world equal of the "classic" rare..a P-Hat, would be say a luxury yacht, an Enzo Ferrari might be a red h'ween mask, and so on. The very rarity is what gives them value, not the functionality. A backbone of anything, whether it be the economy or a network, is primarily based on volume...whatever part carries the most load. So yes, while in RS, there are a few specific items that have an enormous monetary value, the constant day to day volume of things like yews, natures, bowstrings, sharks, etc are the true backbone of the rs economy. Rarers are valuable as money sinks..I'll go as far as investments, but their enormous market value is based on the generation of excess wealth with which these are purchased. For every Hat trade one imagines that there are thousands or tens of thousands of more mundane trades...sharks, potions, logs, etc. This not only forms the backbone for the economy as a whole by sheer volume, but as a byproduct generates the cash necessary to purchase the luxury items. I don't disagree that rares in themselves are worth a tremendous amount of cash, but the fact that they are so expensive relegates them to a stratified few.

The Runescape Economic: Should Jagex intervere?
pr0phet00 replied to Behind_you0's topic in General Discussion
It's funny...every so often I've noticed that a post like this will come along. Let me ask you this, Why in the world would the staffers of Jagex care what the price is for item XYZ? Rares and that whole market is a perfect example. The items do nothing..they aren't combat oriented, they don't help skills, yet people willingly pay exhorbitant amounts for them. Prices of anything in the game that aren't purchasable from a store are all player set. If no one is willing to pay $X for item YZ, then it won't sell. Obviously, prices dropped on Meds and left halfs because no one was buying them. -
When ranging them, I've found that ruby tipped bolts followed by diamond tipped, together with Telegrab works fairly well. I've hit 50, 45 with the ruby.

I was reported last night for selling dragon arrows at 9k each. There was a level 70 something "RS Genius" who insisted that "Jagex" had set the price at 1k.

Impling Loot Lists! Bit of other info too
pr0phet00 replied to spooferfish's topic in General Discussion
Anyone have any tips as to where to find the Ninja or Dragon imps? I was playing in the Pora Pora today for 30 minutes or so without seeing anything higher than a Nature/Essence impling. Am I just unlucky, or in the wrong area? -
I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I too have a child, and protect her from all of the nasty things out there. She understands fully the difference between reality and fantasy. She plays online games, and watches cartoons, but doesn't think that Daddy should gun the engine and plow through traffic when we drive someplace, just because it's fun to do on a video game. No one here is espousing violence against animals, but what most people have pointed out is that there is a definte and distinct difference between an imaginary animal in a video game and Fido next door. The contention was not with animal abuse, it's that people are claiming empathy with creatures that are not real in any manner. It's like accusing Jim Henson of Animal Rights abuses because his Muppets would occasionally meet violence....

Jagex updates us with info on Real World Trading (RWT)
pr0phet00 replied to Freesia's topic in General Discussion
Whoa...is that how it works? Thanks, I was confused by this whole process... -
Yes........well, I suppose that this topic is good for one thing...showing who all the bubbleheads are in RL that can't differentiate a game from reality. Here's a tip: Not everything on the Internet is real. Here's one more: The "dogs" in Runescape are programmed in. You should feel as guilty about them as you should feel about stealing from the market stalls. Just for that, I'm going to Varrok and shooing every dog I see.

Dragon Arrows, Dark Bow, Dragon Darts-Starting Prices?
pr0phet00 replied to denhaag0o0's topic in General Discussion
Ok..I'm refuse to speculate on the cost of ites that have to be released, but I thought I should point out something: Roughly 3500 people haqve 89+ slayer. (Dark beast with pie) Less than 2200 have the required 83 Hunting level for the dragon imps. Since you'll only need one bow, but arrows are consumables..lets just say I'm happy that I'm on track to hit 90 hunter this week ;) -
Yep, that is correct. What I had meant was that the capes would be "fully F2P" as he put it. Not necessarily that the skill masters would be moved. And yeah that would work Constanti, there is many ways to make it work really. ----- Although I have posted it a few times before, here was the idea I had come up with awhile back: Not to flame, but for crying out loud, just pay the lousy $5 a month. I don't get how ANY F2P player thinks they have the right to demand things, and complain that P2P get all the good updates. Of course we do, we pay for the priviledge! It's like hanging about outside of a cinema, complaining that all thje paying customers get to see the movie, when all you have to look at is the poster. Maybe I'm completely offbase here, but for a game that doesn't cost them anything to play, F2P make out pretty well. Go find another good MMPORG that offers what RS has and doesn't charge you a dime.

Tele other works wonders. I was hunting and a level 50 was insisting that I lead him to the hunting store in Yanille. Now I don't mind helping people out, but I do have a limited time to play RS, and frankly, don't often feel the need to drop everything I'm doing because someone's too lazy to read a map. So I convinced him to turn accept aid on, *Teleother Lumby* Since that day, I always carry teleother with me when I'm training.

How did you get a level 3 (or 2) clue at level 14? :-k I've gotten one trainig range on green drags at lvl 26 (range/mage pure)

Goat's Budget training 1: Possibly the most underated spell
pr0phet00 replied to death_goat2's topic in General Guides
Spell much? Not a bad start to a guide. I'd suggest pics of the safe spots, times between Fire Strike vs Air strike (as in xp gained) Also might want to explore other spots, such as the black demon spawn under Edge dungeon, especially since they're particularly vunerable to mage. I trained a pure from level 10 mage to 68 in about 3 days using nothing but air strikes. -
There is just two sentences dedicated to the graphic update of varrock, a enormous update, with the rest of the paragraph dedicated to the museum update, which would seem like a much more minor update on its own, unless there is something more to it. It also says we get "chunks of experience." What skill would this go to? It doesn't fit any current ones. Then we have the ruby necklace, in which the "64 carat update" failed to include. When you do attempt to enchant it, you get a curious message that tells you its going to have a use in the museum update. What would it do? Also, the varrock/museum update us coming out exactly a year, give or take a few days, after contruction. It also is coming out six months after hunter did, the same amount of time that passed between contruction and hunter. Jagex said they won't be telling us when a skill will come out, because when they did that with hunter people complained and whined every week it wasn't releases, so when the next skill come out we wont have any warning. I might just be grasping at straws here, i dont know. I really doubt that this'd be a new skill..theres no real application for it aside from digsite. Personally, I read that as a new mini game, with the ruby necklace performing the same function as the sapphire necklace.

I agree..the AoG only increases gems while mining. Frankly, I'm not convinced that the RoW increases the drop rate of gems either.

10k to get to 23 con. My advice is to wait a week or to, and take this time to merchant materials..plenty of people still out there buying planks and logs at insane prices. Ive spent a few hours cutting logs, and have made over 4 mill so far.

I walked up there the first time, and didnt have a blade, so couldnt go to ardougne. Second time i went up i was lazy and didnt want to tele to ardougne so i just used one of the portals to get me next to the rouge castle. And please bear in mind that when i wrote that post i was frustrated... I just wanted to share a story, ugh, and vent some of my frustration about Pkers. (And i just didn't think they were going to kill me, because i thought they were just training in the axe hut, D'oh :x!) Oh, and i thought that the mage did have a dagger, so i figured i'd just get maged on me, instead of getting daggered. And zonhottie, i was pretty stupid on that day... Useing the switch didn't even occur to me :x :x :x And one more thing, this is a rant, about how some people can just be plain annoying (not whineing about it, life goes on, bah its just a clue). Guess they have fun doing it. Funny how your title infers that PKers are dumb.....but youre the one that goes on a clue without weapons, and apparantly doesn't use mage pray. Were you planning on punching him to death? Next time wear dhide, carry a dagger, and bring 2 pray pots, 2 super energy, and at least 10 sharks. THat SHOULD be able to allow you to get out of quite a few sticky situations.

WHY is it WRONG?? If anything its RIGHT!!
pr0phet00 replied to Flame_guy3's topic in General Discussion
I've seriously seen the words "food noob" used more than once. Look, I PK..and yes pray is a nuisance out there sometimes. The nifty thing, is that Jagex HAS actually given us a few things to combat that. 1. Drag Scimmy. Yeah ok, it sucks as a primary PK weapon, but it does knock off pray for a while. 2. Smite. Knocks down the opponents pray. Cmon, this one is great, admit it. 3. Change ups. Due to the combat triangle being more strictly enforced, most people I run into are hybrids. Someone throws on mage pray? ok, melee them. They melee pray now? Great! Back to barrage. Yeah ok it's a pain, but there are ways around it. -
You got away lucky. I've helped out a few people if I dont have to go too far out of my way. I've trained a ton at dds, and I can't tell you how many times I've been asked to walk them through the quest. You can tell that I'm not busy at all by the enormous amount of bones and etc on the ground, and the fact that I'm attacking them as fast as possible. Or I'm at barrows, and I get asked to "walk" someone to Camelot. Thank god for teleother: Lvl 30: Can u tak me to fally place plz? Lvl 30: Plz? plz? Me: Can it wait till I'm not getting attacked? Lvl 30: Um ok, but can yu tak me 2 fally plz? Me: $%^$&! Fine..got accept aid on? Lvl 30: Can u tak me to fally plz? plz? **teleother camelot** Me: Cyas Not that I mind helping people..I've given a ton of stuff away just to lend someone a hand..but is it so hard to try and figure stuff out on your own? I mean, there are Quest guides galore online, Quest help in game, maps and a knowledge base! Sorry, didn't mean to turn this into a rant..but when people ask for help, I'd appreciate it if they looked around a bit first and tried to be considerate, instead of simply expecting someone to drop everything and hold their hand. A simple "Where is Fally?" is tons better than "Can u tak me to fally plz plz plz?"

Well, firstly, I laugh because I thought the previous post was humorous. I thought quoting that would make that kinda obvious, but perhaps not. If you don't want dissenting opinions on "your" thread, don't post in a public forums where responses are expected. If you read, thoroughly, my previous post you might have seen the point that I was trying to convey. That being, stated bluntly: If you are determined to go to the Wild you have a chance of being killed by another player, if you are not prepared. If you go to KQ you have a chance to be killed if you are not prepared. If you go to you have a chance to be killed if you are not prepared. You are not required, by any stretch of the imagination to enter the Wild, visit KQ, or to meet your goals of RC'ing/combat/raising any particular stat. Therefore, we have proved that when you go to the Wild, or do anything dangerous it is by your own choice. When something unfortunate arises from one's own choices and actions, one cannot blame another for said events. So yes, you can call RC PK'rs scum, or jerks, or anything else, but if you weren't going into the Wild to begin with, they wouldn't be there. Lastly, I will reflect your owns words back to you, and kindly ask that you take the time to read my entire post at least once, before asking my if I like to fry up kittens for dinner on Thursdays. Cause that's a Friday thing.

Rofl. Ok, this will make me unpopular, but WTH. Yes, I've RC Pked quite a few times for glories. As matter of fact, I know one friend of mine who has over 300 glories and 20+mill from RC pking alone. The challenge is, depending on the level difference, you have a slim opportunity to snare, tb, then kill said RC'r, all the while avoiding the skellies, and at times, competing for the kills. Personally, if the said PK'd isn't being a jerk, I'll message them back to come get their pouches, and stand on the spot for em. But I'm nice like that. As for being able to PK elsewhere..I really don't see how one has much to do with the other. If I'm not RC pking, I'm at mage bank. If you don't like the PK'ers there, no one is forcing you into the wild. Every altar has a non-Wildy entrance (except chaos, yes I know) that you are perfectly free to use without fear of being PK'd. With greater risk comes a greater reward. If you use the abyss to make your runes faster, well, you have to accept a greater risk to go along with that benefit. It's a check and balance that Jagex put in. Don't blame me for taking advantage of it.

The only problem is throw away credit cards. Put $5 on em, toss em after a month. My question is this..why is Jagex going through this process, if (as they often tout) the macro detection system is almost infallible? It seems that they should be able to run hourly scans to detect macroing as it occurs. most macroers (i assume) are kids that dont have the funds, know-how or permission to apply for a creditcard every month (or less if they get caught before that), just to continue trying to run their macro scam. and even if they could, sooner or later they will realise that they are losing more than they are gaining. the macro detection system is far from infallible, or even effective. most people banned for macroing are those reported by other players. its just that a macro is usually an external file that allows you to repeat key strokes or mouseclicks, and automatically have your character run around doing repetitive things. its not that easy to detect, because regular mouse clicking to do certain tasks is really no different if its a legit player or a macro, as far as the game coding is concerned, most of the time. i suppose many autoers are caught with the in-game detection, but i am pretty sure its only a small minority of autoers Just to clarify what i meant, you can purchase blank cards that are basically pre paid credit cards. They work the same, and typically people use them as a security feature for a one time purchase over the internet. I know a few kids who's parents have given them to them to fund cell phones, etc. I don't think that the macroers are just a bunch of kids...if so, I highly doubt that Jagex would appear to be taking them so seriously. Although, I do have to grant you that when it comes to Jagex, and anything they do, logic oftentimes checks itself at the door.

Cannon Noob Day from a level 116.
pr0phet00 replied to Leesters's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)
Nah...as long as you were the one who set it up, there is a warranty. I've had 4 or so cannons already..i buy em, use em, then sell them off when I remember that they've been sitting in my bank for 2 weeks gathering dust. I've set one up, teled away and logged  and its still free to replace. Nice story BTW..I'm glad I'm not the only one to have noob days :)
